More podcast hugs needed for my brain

Hey, I'm going through a shitballs period of trauma and attempting to calm my nervous system. Blindboy's podcast has been such a wonderfully autistic warm hug in my ears, but I've listened to all of the episodes!

Does anyone have recommendations for anything with a similar vibe? I especially like the episodes where he gets obsessed with something and does a loooong deep dive into it, making links and seeing connections that may not have been seen before.

Thanks in advance from my autistic cPTSD-having middle aged woman's insane feckin' brain.

Philosophy for a 13yo?

Kiddo (13 and autistic, in remission from leukemia) has expressed an interest in philosophy. Are there any engaging, conversational podcasts exploring philosophical thinking that aren't American?

There's a lot going on in my kiddo's head right now. Looking death in the fact at 12 really changes a kid.

A pattern for the perfect dress?

It's been a difficult couple of years with chronic illness, trauma, stress, etc etc. Anyway, I found the perfect dress for my changing and often painful body.

I feel good in it, it fits in all the right places, and it's comfortable! The baggy bits over the hips are POCKETS and it swishes in the most delightful way!

I've found two second hand so far, but I can't seem to find the BLACK version in my size (a NZ/AU 16 or small in the label's plus size range) so I thought I'd look into making one.

I'm an experienced sewer and will take my least favourite of the two dresses apart to make a pattern if needed, but life would be easier if someone could point me towards a similar pattern so I can DIY a bunch of Perfect Dresses!

I made a t-shirt after being inspired by our favourite vegan himbo...

I totally didn't mean for the 'o's to line up with my nips, but it makes me giggle! Anyway, I went a little overboard with the bleach, but I love it and every day is a Rage Against the Machine Day. :D

Another Person Looking for a Manual

Hi! A friend gave me this fantastic machine that seems to be in great working order. It's not too hard to do the basics without a manual, but it would be helpful to have. Could anyone point me in the right place? My Googling has failed - I did find one, but on Etsy and isn't within my budget of $0!

Thanks in advance.

Hi! I'm making a robe jacket (the Common Stitch 'Peppermint Robe Jacket', but lengthened) from patchworked child's t-shirts.

I want to stabilise it somehow as the fabrics are all different. I'd like it to remain soft but with a nice drape that you'd expect from a robe.

The options I've thought of are:

\- Interface the back of the fabric, then line it.

*This feels like even the lightest interfacing plus lining will make it too bulky/stiff?*

\- Cut out each pattern piece and iron well, then spray baste a light cotton backing (or whole pieces of light t-shirt fabric?) to hide the seams and maintain the shape of of each piece. Visible stitching around designs as a design feature but also to anchor the layers together, then sew the sandwiched pieces together to make the robe, finishing seams with an overlocker.

*This seems the best option, but I may be overthinking it?*

I'd appreciate any feedback and suggestions or just appreciation of my 'recovering from a traumatic year' silliness! :)
