Level 1s are different at Richmond rod and gun club

Incredibly blessed and grateful to be able to shoot at a range that puts on such great consistent matches.

Clamshell didn’t activate on my first attempt. Grabbed two mags and went right back up. Fun stage. Looking forward to my next match which will be Coastal Classic a level 2 in San Louis Obispo.

Wish me luck with the contraption I’ve assembled.

Wasatch arms mount and comp. Might have a local guy bore it out to accept 40s&w lol 😂

Don’t start shooting USPSA you will eventually find yourself using all your PTO to shoot matches across the country

Area 1 championship in Nevada was a great time. Happy with how I shot!

Area 1 match vlog

16th LO 83%

Shot well for where I’m at in my shooting career. Plenty of time left on the table and looking forward to continuing working towards improving

Some HD shooting. Plus Frankenstein P4X

P4 feels nicer than the 3.6 and takes less effort.

C3.6 I think I shoot as good or nearly as good. But I definitely have to have my grip more locked in and takes more effort to do the same things.

C4X feels as easy to shoot maybe even easier than the P4 probably because it feels fast and doesn’t lift much.

All of this is minutia. They are very capable guns with different roles that they excel in.

My normal process was completely thrown off.

Normally the VERY first thing I do when I bring a new on roster gun into the home is remove the mag disconnect. Normally I do this before entering the home going straight into the garage. But Gideon sent me this dot like 4-5 months ago and it’s been taunting me.

So we mounted the dot. Took some heavy hammering to get the sight out like most S&W sights.

Inserting the dovetail mount for the optic took some filing and hammering as well. But it definitely isn’t going anywhere lmao 🤣

Anyone got an idiots guide to removing the mag disconnect?

26 Series classifiers

A week or two ago I posted that I shot 4(5) of the new classifiers.

They have since been posted publicly.

If you want to see them pov/3rd person feel free to check my recent posts

Shot some provisional 26 series classifiers

1st, 2nd, and the second to last are NOT 26 series. The rest are.

The one “downrange” obviously. Is part of a matched pair where the other one is starting you at the downrange part of the stage and you have to work your way back.

So what you see here is 4 classifiers and you could deduce the 5th.

Not sure how many others there are. I don’t think these have been posted elsewhere.

Shot my c4x in a USPSA major match from BELT

It was definitely an experience. Shot 76% in open division with minor power factor (less points for c/d zone hits) 11th out of 76 open shooters.

If I was in limited optics I would have had a mid/low 80% match performance. I’m happy with it even though I had so many things stacked against me.

Shot the crotch rocket in a major match - staccato C4X

I needed the belt bounty entry and LO was supposed to not count as a classifier so I figured it was the perfect opportunity and it would be good for content purposes.

11th Open 76%

BUT I didn’t realize a guy I know who recently hit GM was registered but hadn’t updated that he hit GM since registration opened. So I could’ve had a chance at actually shooting my classification level in a major(big goal of mine this year)

If I was in LO this would’ve been a low 80% performance. So I’m happy all things considered. Many stages benefited from drawing and shooting targets immediately and my reloads were constantly holding me up from shooting when I wanted to be.

This was a good reminder that it’s good to have fun sometimes because this is a game after all. And if we’re not having fun what’s the point.

Next major is Area 1 in Nevada and then coastal classic in San Luis Obispo. Looking forward to those!

Alcatraz boat stage

This was a fun one. Wish the range was able to leave the boat for some locals

Full video of Escape From Alcatraz at Richmond Rod and Gun club

Awesome match with a ton of great shooters. Unfortunately my month off from vacation and being sick really showed. But man did it fire me up for this years majors coming up.

If you’re in California, try to shoot a Richmond match. Even our local matches are awesome. Great challenging stages that I attribute to my growth in the sport.

C4X slide will fit on a P4

I wouldn’t recommend doing this. The slide travel length is different between them. And the timing/lockup may not be correct.

But man with how nice the c4x shoots I bet a p4x would be baller.

Mentally I was present today. Needed the confidence boost. Dry fire is paying off. Next thing I want to focus on is movement speed across medium distances.

93.69% - 8/75 LO
90.05% - 16/230 OA

Unfortunately bay4 got thrown out which I felt pretty good about.

~600 rounds through the c4x in less than an hour.

Also a few mags of c3.6 and one mag in the p4.

124gr, this stuff is loaded LONG and in my 5” guns chronos around 1200+

Gun and optic performed great. Didn’t lose zero. Hands are a bit blistered in some spots. Some of the later strings were tough to not build up tension when the gun is uncomfortable to hold lol.

The gun is sick as fuck. It’s expensive. But it’s 100% gonna be my new carry gun.

Testing will continue. But my first impressions are that the gun is very good.

Day 1 mental errors from being sick as fuck really hurt me. 2 individual mistakes on the first and last stage added about 12 seconds of total time. Only two mikes on the day were on the monkey swinger because I did not have a plan of attack and just sent four rounds at it.
