Batsugun Saturn Tribute Boosted | TATE Gameplay

I am posting in this community after a long time. Just wanted to share my happiness with you all.

God blessed me with what had been on my wishlist for a long time. By the grace of God, I finally have an arcade stick in my setup that'll let me relish not only nostalgia but also enjoy TATE gameplay. I literally feel that I am at a Japanese arcade enjoying these shmups.

Arcade Stick: Mayflash F500 Elite

Gaming monitor: MSI Curved Gaming Monitor

Platform: PlayStation 4 (for this shmup)

Now, I know my gaming setup isn't as good as the pro setup of other gamers, but by the grace of God, I am happy with what I have. 🙏🙇‍♂️

My aim is entertainment, not pro gameplay. I always highlight this in my posts. I respect the achievements of pro gamers. 😇

Metro: Last Light Redux

I am playing the game for the first time. My first game from the Metro video game franchise. I am really enjoying it.

I wish I started the franchise in the chronological order, but a gamer friend told me that it doesn't matter. He stated that I'll understand the story irrespective of the order I play it in. So, I chose to continue with what I started.

I am stuck at the marshes right now. I've fired so many rounds at the flying demon crest like creature. It just doesn't die, picks the protagonist with its claws and then drops him in the swamps.

Yet, I am enjoying the game. I think I'll have to watch a walkthrough video to get past this point, or if anyone here is kind enough to suggest an alternate route, I'll be utterly grateful to him or her.

There are some points in the game where you really struggle to find where to head next, but then, I understand the logic behind it.

What are your thoughts about the Metro franchise? Which is your most favourite title so far? 😇

How did the gamers react to Sony's response to backlash it has faced after the controversial announcement?

☝️This was my reaction 👆

I just don't understand why it is so hard for Sony to announce the decision or address concerns and follow-up questions gamers have after they announced their controversial decision.

Sony is not realising that this decision will impact the sales of the PS6 a lot. I am fine with digital media, but I have some questions about it. I have highlighted them in my previous posts. Sony shouldn't have eliminated the choice of media.

u/M3ConsoleGamerPSN — 20 days ago

Will you buy a PS6 if Sony doesn't revert its decision?

Yesterday I posted why I believe Sony may revert its decision to discontinue physical media. I was surprised by the number of gamers who chose to participate in the discussion. It was quite disheartening to see that the majority of the participants believe that Sony will not revert its decision. Well, this is exactly what these tech giants want; they want us to submit to them. They want us to buy whatever they offer. Why do we humans forget that condemning someone's actions or voicing disagreements does have positive outcomes? Yet, we have lots of people across the globe who are never hopeful. This is what the tech giant owners want: they want us to become their puppets. With such a submissive mindset, we are becoming their puppets. Well, by giving them permissions to access our data, we already are their puppets, but that's a different debate all together.

I happily embraced digital media in 2025, but after learning about cases where gamers, after losing access to their gaming account, lost access to their digital games. I even shared the YT link of such an instance in one of my posts here a few days ago.

I wish to ask these so-called tech giants that today you're pushing everything to digital, but all of it is going to storage devices. It can be pushed to virtual memory, the cloud, etc., but all of these have a limit to how much they can store. There will come a time when in order to accommodate data further, you'll have to get rid of the old data. What then? The ones who own the digital copies lose access to the game. One may have the game saved to an external drive, but if something happens and the game is no longer available on the platform you downloaded it from initially, then it's lost forever. Do the tech giants have a backup plan? Well, they don't need one if the gamers continue to live with the submissive mindset.

Therefore, I am stuck with a dilemma: should I buy PS6 when it is released, or should I avoid it? It is quite complicated now!

Choices and opinions vary from person to person. 😇

How hopeful are you about Sony reverting the decision of no physical media starting 2028?

The backlash hasn't stopped to date. The moment any game trailer is released on PlayStation's official YouTube channel, there's a huge number of comments that highlight the importance of physical media. Gamers express that they want physical media to continue. There's no denying that Sony isn't shaken by this massive backlash. They may not have released any statement publically about reverting the decision, but I believe that they definitely are concerned about the sales of PS6 after witnessing the backlash about this controversial decision. Sony is choosing to stay silent because it wishes to see how long backlash is going to continue. If it continues for a few months, then they might revert the decision. If it only lasts for days and vanishes, then they know that the gamers have submitted to them. I hope the backlash doesn't stop.

Two days ago, I posted that Xbox is going to continue both, i.e., the physical and digital media. I was wrong about it. It turns out the YouTube video I watched was simply speculating. It wasn't the case at all. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma hasn't confirmed it. I misunderstood the video. When I did some research, I could not find any credible source or evidence confirming this decision of Xbox. My sincere apologies for that post. It was a blunder.

I really want PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo to continue both physical and digital media.

Please do not eliminate the physical media to support the AI data centres. AI data centres are causing more damage to our non-renewable resources. AI is not our friend. It is our enemy. It is gradually proving that the movie Idiocracy is indeed a prophecy.

PlayStation is against the physical media, but the Xbox promises to continue physical and digital media. What do you have to say about it?

I believe that Xbox views this as a great opportunity to surpass the PlayStation because the PlayStation's decision to discontinue physical media is literally biting them now. Somewhere along the line they know that this decision will hamper the sales of the PlayStation 6. Well done, Xbox! 😇👍

Gamers haven't stopped expressing their concerns about this controversial decision of PlayStation. Therefore, the Xbox deciding to continue with physical and digital media must have come across as an unexpected n*ke att**k to PlayStation. The console war is back!

Now, let's hear your thoughts about this. 😇

PlayStation announced no more physical games. Xbox is pushing it too. Yet...Then, there's this instance!

PlayStation announced no more physical games. Yet, some game stores are happy with the decision.

They're happy because this decision of PlayStation's is going to boost the sales for the **retrogaming** market. They believe now more gamers (who prefer physical media) and collectors are going to visit the game stores to ensure that they have the available physical media in their collection. To some extent, they are not wrong.

I happily embraced digital media last year. I have mentioned this in my posts several times, but there's one concern I still have. **What if the PlayStation or Microsoft Xbox Store decides not to keep the digital form of the game I have access to today in the future?** God forbid, but if something happens to my console or the hard drive and I have to buy a new console or repair & format the console storage, then I'll have to download the games again. What would I download if the game were not available on the store anymore? They may keep it for the next 10 years, but where's the guarantee that it'll be there even after 10 years from now?

They should give more clarity on this decision or reconsider it. The discussions about this controversial decision haven't stopped. I wish they did not eliminate the choice the gamers had, i.e., physical media, or digital media. 😇

How would gamers react if PlayStation announced that they would add PS2 and PS3 games to the digital library of the PS6?

I believe this would be the reaction of most gamers:

Fine! It sounds good. What about the physical discs after 2028? Also, is backwards compatibility of the PS6 applicable only to digital format? If that's the case, then it is a terrible decision.

TMNT Weekend Fun

It doesn't matter how many times you play this game; it just keeps calling you back. Tribute games and Dotemu should consider creating a sequel to this game. I wish they would come up with a new story and new moves and bring back Shredder with more sinister motives.

I wouldn't mind if they considered making a 3D beat 'em up with the current gaming engine. I don't mind pixel art. It's good to relish nostalgia, but staying in the present is equally important. So, if not a sequel to Shredder's Revenge, then a new story with a new look should be good.

Let's hear your thoughts. Cowabunga! 🎮🍕😇

Another round of this classic shmup

I like the Strikers franchise. Strikers 1945 is such a cool shmup. TATE gameplay of this shmup is a delight. I have posted about this before; I am posting it again. TATE gameplay of retro shmups is so hard to resist. As a matter of fact, TATE gameplay of any vertical shmup is hard to resist. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Days Gone Remastered | Reset Jobs

I played Days Gone for the first time last year. I finished the game in Feb 2025, and the remastered version of the title was released in April 2025. I enjoyed it and the horde assault. I even posted about the achievements here. I was happy with the way community members appreciated my amateur gameplay and encouraged me to do better.

All this time, I kept wishing for a feature that allowed us gamers and fans of the game to fight the hordes again without going through the game again. Little did I know that the feature was already available. I just noticed it. I am referring to Reset Jobs.

The moment I learnt about it, I have been looking forward to fighting the hordes again. Well, today was the day. This is my first horde fight after almost a year. This is definitely terrible gameplay. There's no denying that. Well, a few more gameplays and I might do better. 😝

My aim is entertainment not pro gameplay!

Who enjoys doing this while playing this game?

I really enjoy this super move after eating the POW pizza. I am playing this game after 7 months, but with Michelangelo this time.

I finished the game with Leo and Sensei Usagi then. I decided to enjoy the game with Mikey this time.

Though every bit of this game is enjoyable, but I enjoy this bit the most. If you enjoy this super move just like me, then write Cowabunga in the comments section. Cheers to the TMNT fandom! 🍻

Gurforce II | Do you like this one?

I remember watching it at the arcades then but never playing it because I was more into shmups and beat 'em ups then. I played this franchise for the first time when I bought a Pandora Box in 2024. I played both Gunforce 1 and 2. Both are enjoyable, but I like Gunforce II more than Gunforce I. It's fine if you like part 1 more than part 2. Choices and opinions vary from person to person. This franchise definitely needs revival, and it needs to come back in the modern form with better upgrades and discoverable cheats (like Doom), like invincibility, infinite ammo for special weapons, indestructible armoured fighting vehicles, etc., to enjoy the game even more. It's fine if a gamer doesn't wish to utilise the cheats and enjoy the game as it is. If a modern version of this franchise does come out, I would want gamers to first play the classics and then move to the modern version. I can only suggest; rest is their choice. What are your thoughts about this game? 😇

Which game trailers made you say, "Yo! I'm buyin' this!"?

- GTA VI

- Marvel's Wolverine

- Marvel's 1943: Rise of Hydra

- God of War Trilogy

- Onimusha: Way of the Sword

- Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

- God of War: Laufey

- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

- He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction

The moment I saw the trailers of these games, I decided to buy them.

I am buying COD: MW4 for its campaign. Well, I play CODand Battlefield games only for their campaigns. I am terrible at multiplayer stuff. I've said it multiple times in my posts. I can tell from the trailer that after a long time, gamers are going to enjoy the campaign a lot.

I read a PlayStation post earlier today, and it reminded me of this trailer I watched a few months ago. I am talking about Marvel's 1943: Rise of Hydra. I am surprised that it is not being discussed often. I mean I haven't read enough posts about it. Maybe it's being discussed on the Marvel community page more than here.

So, which game trailers convinced you to buy them right away? 😇

Any fans of this shmup?

I bought it a month ago. It's a good shmup and enjoyable too. All the stupid moves you noticed at the beginning of the video happened because I was watching TV and playing this game at the same time. Well, it doesn't matter to me because my aim is entertainment, not unlocking achievements and mastering skills. Maximum Respect for pro gamers, but I don't wish to be one. Let's hear your thoughts about this shmup. 😇

Are you a gamer who sticks to a specific genre of video games, or do you enjoy multiple genres?

I enjoy multiple genres. I like beat 'em ups, shmups, first-person shooters (campaigns and main story only), action-adventure (open world), hack and slash, and run-and-gun games.

Currently, I am playing several games. One day I am playing (if I am able to spare some time) shmups, the next day I am playing beat 'em ups, and the day after I am playing FPS. I have started doing this recently. Earlier, I wouldn't touch another game if I had not finished the one I started, but lately my strategy for gaming has changed.

The genres I tend to stay away from are RPGs, roguelikes, soulslikes and the open-world action games that include RPG elements. Nothing against these genres. I just don't enjoy them. They demand extreme patience and interaction at every step. I want non-stop action from beginning to end once the game has started. My aim is entertainment, not unlocking achievements with the hardest settings. I respect the gamers who play video games with gruelling settings, but I am not one of them. I have no shame in admitting that I enjoy video games with the easiest settings, and by the grace of God, I am really happy once I have finished a game. 😇

Have you tried this shmup?

I recently bought this shmup, and I am enjoying it. It isn't simple even on easy mode, but it is enjoyable. I mean every time you're defeated, you unlock an upgrade. The better the upgrades, the easier it becomes to defeat the bosses in each stage. Currently, I am at stage 4. It's quite tricky, but it's worth trying repeatedly. The ones who have played this shmup will agree with me. You do better than your previous playthrough in the next attempt. That's how you progress in this game. What are your thoughts about this game (if you have played it)? 😇

Takeover 2 | Why is it releasing only for Steam (PC)?

At the end of the day, it's the decision of the studio on which platform they wish to release their game. The Takeover was initially released for MS Windows and MacOS, but it was later released for other platforms, and it did well on other platforms. Therefore, limiting the release of the second installment only to one platform doesn't make sense to me. I mean, more platforms, better the revenue, but it is what it is. What are your thoughts about this decision? Let's hear! Let's not question each other's opinions because choices and opinions vary from person to person.

The Takeover is a good beat 'em up. I'm enjoying it on PS4 nowadays. 😇

Which decade of gaming is the best according to you?

Though, every decade of gaming has something unique to offer, and every decade paved the way for the wonders released in the next decade due to the technological progress and evolution. Yet, I feel the best decade so far has been the 2000s.

With all due respect to the 80s and 90s. You may check my profile and see that I am a retro gamer too. I often mention in my posts how I grew up enjoying video games at the arcades. Had the games in the 80s and 90s not existed, then the 2000s wouldn't be as great as we remember them today.

Most video game franchises that are being continued to date and have a massive fandom stated in the 2000s. Most of them, not all. Some of them started in the mid and late 80s, while some of them started in the 90s.

The PlayStation 2 (🙇‍♂️) still remains the most sold console to date. Over 160 million units sold. Xbox (Original) was no less. I mean, there was a massive library to choose from.

I am not saying that the decades after the 2000s in the context of gaming have been bad, but they haven't been as good as the 2000s. We all have reasons. Also, choices and opinions vary from person to person. Now, let's hear from you what you have to say. 😇

What is your crazy idea for a beat 'em up game?

I wish to see a beat 'em up that offers a combined roster of Street Fighter, King of Fighters and Tekken to defeat an enemy full of dark powers who considers himself invincible and has embarked on a journey to destroy the world.

Of course, I do not wish to see the entire roaster from each game. 5 popular characters from each game should be good.

I am terrible at fighting games, but beat 'em ups, I can still play and enjoy (if you have seen my previous posts). I am not a master of the beat 'em up genre. I just enjoy playing it. My aim is entertainment, not perfecting the skills with the hardest settings. Nothing against the gamers who play games with such settings. I respect their choice and achievements. I just aim for enjoyment.

I wouldn't want fighting game controls to be the controls of such a beat 'em up. I don't understand quarter-circle, half-circle, or Z along with specific buttons. For such a beat 'em up, just button combos should be good.

I mean, it would be awesome to see the characters beat the shit out of the enemies with their fighting game super moves by just using button combos.

How does this sound to you? It's fine if you do not like the idea. Choices and opinions vary from person to person. Let's hear your crazy ideas.

I would like to see Akuma aid the roaster for the fight with the final boss. Now, we all know what Akuma is capable of. 😈

Important point: The look of such a beat 'em up should be modern 3D, not pixel art. Enough of pixel art.
