Who here has heard The Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver's soundtrack?

As a newer DS enjoyer, I think the music in this game is phenomenal, and that it can be included in DS discussion. The picture included is the cover to a very faithful recomposition that you can listen to on streaming services. (Not an ad lol)

The music of this game is a wonderful mix of electronic medieval ambient music with sprinkles of gothic, industrial and some orchestral music. Each area's score perfectly encapsulate's the environment, and it is really fun hearing specific musical motifs for each area.

Who here has played this game, only to be captivated by the music? If you haven't heard it, let me know what you think!

My recs are:

  • Drowned Abbey
  • Necropolis
  • Cathedral, Pt. I and Pt. II (these two are my favorites)

Did I mess up?

Got ETD back in early March, and my ENT determined it was allergies, which I do think is largely the case. I am allergic to a shit ton of seasonal spring/summer stuff after getting some testing. It was horrible at first as I never experienced seasonal allergies or ETD. So I was super lucky I guess. I wear hearing aids and have severe hearing loss on top of it so it really felt like an unnecessary issue on top of what I already deal with.

Anyway, my symptoms got better/worse on and off until late June/early July, when they actually started getting quite a bit better. They were still there but the tinnitus was largely gone and pressure was easily cleared with one of the maneuvers (in my right ear at least). I THINK this is when I switched from Allegra to Zyrtec, don't know if that matters.

I was scheduled for ET dilation on Monday this week, which I thought would solve it completely but it's been a few days and it just feels like my issues are just almost fully back. Tinnitus everyday, weird clogged/pressure feeling. I primarily listen to metal music and it all sounds off. Hard to separate instruments and drums sound barely audible or hollow.

I've been led to believe this is normal and my ears are healing, but I'm a worrier and I guess I'd like to see if anyone else has experienced my situation or has any reassurance. Thanks.

Is this normal?

I have allergy related ETD, and I just got my tubes dilated on Monday. Currently, it seems like my ears are pretty full feeling and I am getting some tinnitus. Most of my music of choice (metal) sounds odd. Pretty flat sounding, drums are hollow and less bass-y, guitar melodies are hard to grab on to. Was just wondering if all this is normal and when I should expect a return to normal hearing?

Anyone else ever deal with this?

Currently healing from an eustachian tube dilation (ear procedure) and all music sounds weird right now, especially black metal. Finding melodies in the dense mixes is pretty hard and drums sound hollow. Guitars are walls of noise. Feeling pretty bummed about it but apparently my hearing should return to normal within some weeks? Was wondering if anyone else here has ever dealt with this before?

Finally.

Bought the bootleg a few weeks ago, accepting that it'd be awhile before I ever get an OG copy. Then, the DAY the boot arrived, I caught wind of a really nicely priced OG copy and immediately scooped it up. (Even got it for cheaper than listing price thanks to the seller negotiating with me.)

Needless to say, I'm quite pleased.
