With the death of FanDuel and Victory+, Anaheim, Carolina, Columbus, Dallas, Minnesota, and Saint Louis will be moving their local broadcasts over to Prime.
Tying this back to the Kraken in that I'm keeping an eye on the pricing that other teams do going forward. From what I can find, Anaheim and Dallas will be included with a standard Prime subscription a la the Kraken. The Blue Jackets Hurricanes, Wild, and Blues will do a standalone $19/mo or $99/yr subscription, Edit: but I'm confused on whether this will also be included with a regular Prime subscription? Or if you have to get both separately?
Backing up even further than my original post:
I had been waiting multiple months to get an email about my NACS adapter. It had been long enough then that I finally emailed Hyundai customer service to say "uhh... hey... do I qualify for this? Am I getting one?..." They replied to me with an email that said "Oh, yes, of course, you qualify for a NACS adapter. You're on the list now. One will be shipped to you in 16 weeks." That was in September of 2025...
I also started seeing posts here that Hyundai was no longer sending out NACS adapters, so I was kinda resigned to the idea that I'd never be getting mine. (not a big deal as I rarely ever use DC fast chargers, nevermind needing a Tesla fast charger.)
Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, I get a phone call from an unrecognized 800 number. My phone screened it as being from "Advance America" (a quick check cashing place) but dude said he was with Hyundai calling about my NACS adapter. Oh... okay... He said they were finally shipping it to me, they just needed to confirm a few bits of info, one of which was my address (which they had correct), the other was the last 4 digits of my VIN. That's where I got a bit freaked out, since the last 4 of your VIN turns out to be a common bit of info for scams. But all other evidence seemed to point to a legit call from Hyundai (correct number on caller ID even tho Google identified it wrong, had my correct address, etc). Hence the linked post.
But now I'm here to happily report... after more than a year of waiting... I finally have my durn NACS adapter!!
So if you've been waiting a while, there is still a possibility that yours will be coming to you! And also I guess it is actually a thing now for them to call you to confirm your address and such. Seems wise considering lots of people move after a year.
Anywho, just thought I'd share.
No new gates added. But the former customs area will be redeveloped into a restaurants/shopping area. Some gates will also be converted to dual level boarding.
Re-working the upper bowl to eliminate obstructed view seats.
Second of 3 off-seasons worth of renovation work. Last summer was reworking the lower bowl. This summer is rebuilding the North Upper Bowl. Next summer will be the South Upper Bowl.
Cascades Airos shown in the first minute or so in the video.
Also some bonus views of an in-work Link Light Rail S700 car starting about 240. Always in the background while they're shuffling locomotives around.
If you're not already listening/watching Sound of Hockey, you should. Can be found on Spotify, Apple, etc. They just recently started doing video on YouTube as well.
Great episode this week talking to Chris Peters (draft and prospect guru). Talking about the latest Kraken draft picks, and the progress of other prospects in the organization. Also some discussion about the progress of the organization as a whole.
Just came through this morning that the Ducks matched the offer sheet on Leo Carlsson. $18mil/yr. They now have only $9mil left to re-sign Gauthier who's going to be looking for north of $10mil/yr (probably even more now that we've seen what Carlsson got).
If we're looking for a good deal to move Wright? Wright + Two 1sts (ours and Tampa's next season) and maybe even 2028 as well for Gauthier. Sign Gauthier at $12mil/yr? Anaheim gets a still promising young center still on his ELC in return for not totally fucking their cap. Kraken get the young star forward we've been longing for at a price they can afford long term.
Edit: Looks like he's inellgible for an offer sheet, so never mind, never mind.
Or if we're being really cheeky: Offersheet him at $15mil/yr. See if he bites. He's worth four 1sts.
Obvious wrinkles:
Doubt the Ducks will want to send one of their most promising forwards to a division rival.
Gauthier is a wing (correct? or can he play C too?). Would mean another year or two of Stephenson at 2C while we wait for Catton or O'Brien to develop enough to move into their natural center rolls. (or perhaps I have that wrong and he could slot in at 1c or 2c?)
Does Gauthier want to come here? I maintain we were just leverage for both Panarin and Robertson, and that was more about them getting what they wanted out of the teams they were trying to go to rather than turning their noses up at Seattle, but we'll see...
Losing four 1sts if we offer sheet him and Anaheim doesn't match.
etc.
Thoughts?
Wouldn't get our hopes up just yet, but would be pretty sweet if this was the logo for Climate Pledge this year too.
