Im not too far from halsted and the amount of dog poop on the sidewalks is absolutely disgusting. Dog owners in this area need to pick on their dog’s poop, you make the choice to get a pet then it’s on you to be responsible to pick up after them. I’m constantly looking down at the sidewalks while walking to make sure I don’t step in anything. Has anyone else noticed this or know who to contact in the city about this?
I’m very quiet and tend to prefer looking out the window during my ride. I’ve had some chatty drivers which can be kinda annoying but I engage anyway. What behaviors do you dislike?
TLDR;He came back, apologized, we reconnected… then vanished again. Am I wrong to be done?
Quick backstory: this guy and I have known each other about two years, on and off. Around my birthday, he treated me pretty badly, and after that I stopped answering when he called about 6 months ago as I was over it.
Fast forward to recently he reaches out, we start talking on the phone again, and he actually apologizes for how he acted around my birthday. We have a couple of really good, long conversations, both admit we missed each other’s company, and we agree to hang out. I was cautiously excited like maybe this time would be different.
Then about two weeks ago I FaceTimed him. No answer. I didn’t think much of it since we’d literally talked for over an hour that same morning. Figured he’d call or text later. Nothing. A few days go by, still nothing. I messaged him on Instagram last week. Still nothing. Meanwhile he’s actively posting, clearly on the app just not responding to me.
So now I’m sitting here like… why reach out, apologize, rebuild something, and then just disappear again? What was the point of any of it?
I know logically this is a pattern with him and not something I did. But it still stings, especially because the apology and the reconnection felt genuine in the moment. I’ve decided I’m exhausted by him and I really want to tell him about himself and not to contact me anymore if he resurfaces again with some excuse.
Anyone else dealt with someone who does the warm then vanish thing on repeat?
I recently moved into my apartment, the rent is $1285 for a studio in Lakeview. While I was initially excited about the unit and building those feelings have faded. It’s a pretty old apartment, with old appliances and even older fixtures. The laundry room sucks and the insulation is non existent. I want something newer, updated, while still maintaining character. Rent has gone up a lot in the last 2 years and I don’t want my rent to consume most of my income. For those making $70,000, what’s your sweet spot as far rent and neighborhood recommendations?
I moved into my current apartment at the beginning of this month and the constant thumping from my upstairs neighbor is driving me up the wall. I’ve lived in apartments before so I know there are certain sounds you just have to deal with but this is not one of them. This person is constantly either throwing something relatively heavy on the ground or slamming something throughout the day and night. I’ve already submitted two noise complaints to the leasing office and they assured me they spoke with the person regarding the noise yet the noise persists. I have a white noise machine but I can still hear them. I’m seriously considering asking to end my lease as I can’t live like this. Noise level was such a big deal when I spoke to the property manager during my tour yet clearly my upstairs neighbor didn’t get the memo.
I started Zepbound in late April and my period has been non stop since. It’s almost July and yes, I’ll still bleeding. I reached out to my endocrinologist and gynecologist, neither seemed too concerned or urgent regarding the issue. I have PCOS so my period is usually non existent but now I haven’t had a break since late April. Has anyone experienced this? I know injections can disrupt a woman’s menstrual cycle but I’m absolutely concerned and annoyed.
I recently started a new job and I'm getting a weird feeling from my colleagues. When I first started they invited me to lunch and it was kinda a given we would sit together. Now that I've been there for about 8 weeks I find myself feeling excluded. We had lunch today and I selected a larger table we normally sit at only for all of them to sit together at a completely different table.....including my manager.
I'm normally not someone who cares about making friends at work but due to this being a much smaller office space and even smaller group of people, I can't help but feel quite isolated. I get the feeling it will look bad if I in response to the exclusion start eating elsewhere. Does anyone have any advice for this situation?
