Pretty insane in a city that prides itself.... nay, feeds itself on the profits of artists, that our local district is cutting this arts program.

Did anyone else’s vehicle get damaged by the massive hole on Emma road almost under Patton Bridge?

Was running late, trying to drive around it, the road gave way under and thank God my car didn’t sink into the hole. It popped the tire and bent the rim. Other people were driving around it but I have a large, heavy vehicle. I’m highly upset and the damage possibly messed up the entire alignment of my car, my tire rod etc. I made a claim with the city, just wondering other people’s thoughts and experiences. There was no warning signs or road closed signs and the pothole was massive.

Edit: I emailed someone in the city and they were very polite and responded quickly that they would let me make the official claim tomorrow with paperwork.

Looking for 2016 Rim

Allowed a family member to borrow my car, of course they managed to pop the tire, and left the entire rim by the dumpster where they were at.

looking to see if anyone has a single rim for 2016 or a set for under $250 miraculously.

thank you!

Advice on New Radiator Still Overheating

2016 SR5, 300k miles with regular maintenance. I recently changed the temp sensor as well as a faulty hose that was leaking coolant about 2 months ago. 2 days ago radiator cracked, I tried to seal it, let it sit 48 hours with 2 sealant layers and got around town for about 30 minutes before it broke open.

Had the radiator changed today by a friend who used to work as a mechanic. He had to leave as I was waiting on coolant I had doordashed (he doesn’t drive either rn) and I tried to bleed it for about 5 minutes, but it wasn’t blowing hot air. Stupidly, I figured maybe a couple minutes on the road would help. I’m just a girl 😅 (jk, I can take responsibility for my mistakes)

Get on the highway and it immediately starts overheating but no steaming, so I found a safe place to pull off and let it cool down. I believe at one point on the highway it went down to fully cool and then spiked back up again, but no hot air yet. I really needed to take some money to a friend 5 minutes from my house, and I’m stubborn, so I limped it to the closest gas station and began the bleeding process again. It would seem hopeful, getting cooler, then spike again. I knew I could park it at my friends if things got really bad, as I was in an area notorious for towing. Drove 3-5 minutes down the road and let it sit for 15 minutes, starting slowly climbing back to hot and it actually starting blasting hot air for 5-10 seconds.

I pulled over for about 30 minutes to let the engine cool as much as possible. I tried to bleed again. At this point I’m 5 minutes from home.

Limped it home as it was hovering barely under the H, but no shaking, steaming or unusual behavior.

I did only add a gallon of coolant plus some water I had in my car, so I ordered 2 more gallons and am gonna let it cool over night.

Any tips are appreciated 🥹

Walk Suggestions for Semi-Reactive Dog

Hey all, I hope this message finds you well.

I am (unofficially) fostering a dog while a family friend is in hospice. He is a good dog, super sweet and playful. He is protective and has had a past of being protective here at the house with people he doesn’t know, but once he knows you he loves you. I don’t think he has his papers, so I don’t want to risk a dog park even tho I do trust him enough to be a good boy. I’m just looking for suggestions on places within 20 minutes of Asheville to walk him with minimal traffic. Again he’s such a good boy and I can tell he’s bored. Even if there’s a private field or something, idk..

Thanks all. Love you :) have a good day!

Title: 2016 Toyota Sequoia – rebuilt starter worked a few times, now only one click + “rrrr” sound

Hey y’all, trying to figure out what’s going on with my 2016 Toyota Sequoia.
A few days ago it started slow cranking, but it was still starting. Eventually it stopped cranking altogether. We cleaned the battery terminals and connections and it started cranking/starting again normally for about 2 days.
Then it stopped again, so we pulled the starter and had it rebuilt (brushes, etc.). After reinstalling it, the truck cranked perfectly 3–4 times in a row with zero hesitation.
I then drove about 30 minutes on the highway, parked to get dinner, came back out, and now it won’t crank again.
Current symptoms:
Lights are strong
Radio works
AC comes on
Battery seems to have power
When I turn the key I get:
one solid click
then a “rrrrrr”/whirring sound
but the engine does not crank
We did have a little trouble getting the starter connector plugged in during install, so I’m wondering if maybe something came loose while driving?
Could this be:
loose starter wiring/ground?
bad solenoid engagement?
flywheel/flexplate issue?
weak battery despite accessories working?
alternator?
rebuilt starter failing again?
Any ideas on what I should check first would be hugely appreciated.
