Structure in Canadian Wilderness

Found this huge structure in the middle of absolutely nowhere on Canada just south of the Hudson Bay next to the Nelson river. Each of the spokes is something like 1km across and the circle is over 500m in diameter.

A bit of googling indicates it's a HVDC ground return electrode. Not entirely sure what that does or how it works but thought it was pretty cool.

Struts for Conversion van

I have a 2003 Ford E-150 Conversion van high top (done by Eclipse Conversions). It's in great shape and still road tripping.

It is due for strut replacement ahead of our planned trip to Alaska next year. I'm looking for recommendations on struts that will help reduce the bounce of the back end while also hopefully not giving up stability. It has a higher center of gravity so I was looking at the KYB Gas-A-Just vs the KYB Monomax or something similar. Just worried that these may end up being intended for a cargo/utility van and be too stiff for a passenger van.

I don't intend to do much towing with the van.

Any recommendations for decent struts for this application?

Do Europeans feel any connection to historically significant ethnic groups?

Not sure if "ethnic" is the right term here but thinking historically significant groups like anglo-saxons, Moors, Gaul, ancient Romans, Vikings etc?

I'm wondering if Europeans in specific countries have a sense of historical identity like Americans have based on where our ancestors came from before immigrating to the US? For instance my family are something like 5th or 6th generation Irish immigrants so consider ourselves somewhat "Irish" even though it has been so long there is no real connection anymore.

If so are there hierarchies or different parts of your country known for specific heritage? Or tensions based on centuries old invasions or migrations?

Two Tone 1907s

I got these 1907s as factory seconds and they are super nice boots, the only thing I can find wrong with them is the tone on one of them is lighter on the toe than the upper. I'm fine with them as they are and I think they'll probably darken more evenly over time, just curious if there is a product I could try on the toe to darken it just a bit to match better?

Is it worth trying something? Or just wear them and enjoy the half price boots?

Victory Map

I know this isn't the type of map this group usually goes for, but I think it meets the definition of the name of this group.

I got this "Victory Map" of post World War I Europe from my grandfather before he passed a number of years ago. I ran across it today and thought I'd share with you all. I think some of the descriptions at the bottom are pretty cool because they describe how the National Boundaries were changed after the war.

Edit: here is a link to a closer picture of Europe and the bottom parts. I will pull it out again tonight and add one or two of the top of the map as well.

Also, it's my first time using this image service, if it doesn't work shoot me a PM and I'll try to fix it.
