I have a portrait I had to do really quickly pre-conference, I purposely chose good daylight but knew the background wasn’t ideal. Is there a way to select the background and basically replace it, or use an object removal tool broadly like that? Maybe in PS if not LR? Thx!
The WF on Beacon has become horrendous, imo. Tonight at dinner time they have one person checking people out, no one bagging for him, and the only other checkout lane has a sign that says, We’re sorry, please use other lanes. Lol. You mean other lane. I believe in people, people need jobs. I’m a people person. I don’t like self checkout and almost never use it. That had a line btw going down the aisle to bakery. So I go over to the manager console over on the side to nicely say something and there are two people there. One of them says to me, I’m sorry we’re understaffed. There are literally people over the store working in aisles, a few are cashiers I know. This isn’t an out me, it’s about the older woman with 100 items, the parents behind me w a cart full, it’s absurd. You call someone in. It’s WF. You put someone on a register if you’re a manager.
I’m having a real problem in my Apple Mail. I’ll revive an email from a business contact w 4 others in CC, I hit reply all and it will go to the one sender. I see none of the CC recipients, so I have to wait to get to my Mac to reply. I can’t be the only one w this issue? Thx.
Is anyone any good at identifying the age of wedding rings? This is one ring, the markings inside look like an O far left, maybe a maker’s mark? then 9 and .375, maybe an anchor and the letter A? It’s of Irish origin but could’ve come over from England. Thx!
I have a black tie event next week but don’t want change at the venue. I’m driving down, several hours, and don’t want to sit in the suit. Is there a place in Newport I could walk in with a suit on a hanger and change in a restroom etc? Thx in advance.
Watching the Tour of Denmark today and one of the commentators, he’s British, continues using competivity, which I had to look up. Turns out competetivity IS a word but he’s butchering it. Maybe that was too much of a mouthful ; )

Well I’ve tried all the recommended fixes, silent mode off, I keep the volume low, vary my shutter speeds, even try filling w flash on some podium shots, but the banding is wild w the z8. Choosing to use HFFR isn’t really practical in event work where I’m using flash, no flash, within seconds. Is there anything I’m missing? Thx.
I’ve got some family portraits coming up and I’d love to avoid stands and umbrellas outside. Is anyone familiar w the Profoto 2’ Octa? Do these only attach w the magnetic ring? Is there anything more secure or similar available? I’ll be shooting corded, handheld. Thx!
Is there anything we can do as local community members to keep dogs out of the play enclosure? It’s meant for soccer, kids use it after school and dogs are running free and defecating on the surface. Today a dog was barking pretty violently at a kid who came up to the gate, a young child. Often the bags of excrement are left on top of the soccer goals. There is a no dogs sign as you enter the basketball courts. Is there a city office I could reach out to? Thx.
