I have been working on a Pebble App for calorie tracking, would you use such a thing?

I was tired of overengineered commercial calorie tracking apps so I made my own some time ago.

Today I worked on a PT2 app to link to my calorie counting app.

Would you use such a thing? IS it worth publishing it somewhere?

I got opencode to display inline images, extremely useful when testing

Do you know why it's not implemented yet?

would you actually buy into skyrim lite?

so i keep bringing up the skyrim lite idea and honestly everyone's more into it than i expected? even my buddy Todd publicly endorsed the idea

the pitch: free/cheap entry, but whiterun + the bigger quests are unlocked with mtx, cosmetics, convenience boosts, that kinda thing. gets the show crowd in the door cheap and the whales fund TES6. steady money for a studio that just got gutted by layoffs

  • yeah honestly id throw a few bucks at it, no big deal
  • only if the base experience is still fun without paying
  • maybe, depends how aggressive the paywalls are
  • no but i get why theyd do it after the layoffs

not saying its perfect but predictable mtx revenue beats praying people buy a $70 remaster every 3 years you know? the show crowd would happily pay to unlock stuff casually. genuinely think this is what funds elder scrolls 6 for the next decade. tom's already sold, what about you all

so that bethesda gets their head above water what should they do next?? (genuine question, kinda worried about them)

not tryna start anything but after the xbox layoffs i actually want the studio to survive lol. they need a safe guaranteed win rn while TES6 cooks and nothing sells like skyrim tbh. which re-release gives em the best shot?

  • skyrim anniversary edition (current gen, feels overdue?)
  • skyrim VR remaster (vr ppl been asking for years)
  • full next gen skyrim remake from scratch
  • skyrim on switch 2, the handheld crowd would eat that up honestly
  • skyrim bundled with all the dlc at a fair price for new players coming from the show
  • skyrim optimized for steam deck and handhelds, feels like an easy win
  • skyrim added to game pass to drive subscriptions while TES6 is far out
  • skyrim lite free/low-cost entry version with locked aread, funded by cosmetic microtransactions, gets new players in the door cheap
  • something else? genuinely curious

i know some ppl are sick of the re releases and i get it but id rather they play it safe and live than gamble on something new and just die you know? a steady skyrim launch buys em room to do elder scrolls 6 properly. genuinely curious what everyone thinks is smartest for them

honestly my bet is skyrim lite? low barrier, brings in the show crowd, and the cosmetic mtx keeps steady money flowing without charging full price. feels like the most sustainable one long term and it could sustain TES6 dev for the next 10 years or so. genuinely curious what everyone thinks tho

Microsoft is quietly prying Fallout and Elder Scrolls out of Bethesda's hands

sharma's big xbox "reset" is all about investing in the biggest IPs and she named fallout and TES specifically. not bethesda. the IPs

then obsidian gets their avowed sequel cancelled and told to make a fallout game instead. microsoft literally deciding who makes fallout now, todd had no say lol. meanwhile bethesdas big announcement is... remasters of 15 yr old games and "fallout 5 is in preproduction" (he said the same thing in 2022 btw)

arkane is already gone. hundreds laid off at BGS, id and zenimax online. and now ZOS is getting merged into elder scrolls dev under a "close partnership". thats not teamwork thats stripping it for parts

the show got 9 emmy noms, thats where the money is. microsoft isnt gonna let a studio that takes 15 years per game sit on these franchises forever. bethesda didnt lose the IPs in one announcement, theyre losing them one "partnership" at a time

Todd should resign

The latest news showed us that is he not fit to lead the studio anymore. T fact that he didn't own the Starfield failure and that Microsoft had to force his hand and take the Fallout IP from his greedy cold hands shows he must step down.

He must do it to save Bethesda
