Pregnancy pillow recommendations

I’m having my surgery October 22 and I’m looking into pregnancy pillows to hopefully help with sleeping comfortably. I’m a side sleeper and have an extremely hard time sleeping on my back.

In August I had a bilateral salpingectomy and was supposed to have an ablation but due to complications they were unable to perform the ablation, and instead of it being done laparoscopically, they had to open me up. This resulted in a perforated uterus and a much longer healing process.

I used a wedge pillow under my knees and that helped, but I was unable to sleep on my side for almost a month. I’ve seen people recommend pregnancy pillows to help with that so I purchased the pillow in the first picture. It’s really comfortable but very heavy so I won’t be able to lift it up in order to roll out of bed. I was looking into getting a different type and found the second one pictured. Has anyone used something similar to that, and how did it work out for you?

I really want to be comfortable but don’t want to keep spending money on products that may not be helpful, especially since I won’t have a need for it when I’m recovered.

Any recommendations you have would be very much appreciated and even better if you have links to things you used. Thanks! 😊

Steven Page tickets for sale

Hey everyone! I have two tickets for Steven Page Saturday, November 21 at The Ark in Ann Arbor, MI for sale. I was so excited to see him but I unfortunately had to schedule surgery and won’t be recovered enough to attend.

It’s general admission and tickets were $40 each. Ideally I’d like to sell for what I paid but I’m open to reasonable offers as well.

Also, I’ve never sold tickets before so I’m not entirely sure how to do it so bear with me.

Dry shampoo recommendations

EDIT: I finally just sucked it up and ordered the K18. I can’t wait to try it.

I need to purchase some new dry shampoo and I’m not happy with the one I’m currently using (Not Your Mothers Plump for Joy)

I’m wondering if anyone has some suggestions for a good product for very fine thin hair, something that isn’t too heavy and isn’t too expensive. I know everyone loves the K18 one, but I’d really prefer a drugstore brand because I don’t want to pay for the high end brands.

Thanks for your help! 😋

Endometrial biopsy

So I’m having an endometrial biopsy on Wednesday, ahead of a bilateral salipingectomy, ablation, and D&C to hopefully solve my irregular, non stop bleeding that I shouldn’t be having because I’m on continuous birth control.

Anyways, I’m nervous about the biopsy. They told me it’s just a quick pinch and is over quickly but many find it uncomfortable. They told me that I have the option of nitrous oxide to help with anxiety. However, insurance doesn’t cover it and it’s $100 out of pocket.

For those of you who have had this done, what was your experience with pain and nerves? Should I just suck it up or pay for the nitrous oxide? I’m just curious what others have to say because I’m completely overwhelmed.

Questions about upcoming surgery and how to prepare, healing process, etc.

(I tried posting this in the Women 40+ sub and was banned for 6 days for breaking a “rule,” then posted in the Perimenopause sub and it was deleted because I “went off topic.” I’m just really nervous and not knowing what is going from one minute to the next.

So I have an appointment next week for a trans vaginal ultrasound and endometrial biopsy. Next is my preop appointment where I’m sure she’ll answer all my questions, but I love getting people’s anecdotal feedback and possible questions I should ask. I did start a list already.

This is what I’m having done:
combined laparoscopic salpingectomy, D&C, and endometrial ablation takes about **2 to 4 weeks for full internal healing**, with most patients returning to light, non-strenuous daily routines (this was AI on google.

Anyway, my question is has anyone done all three procedures at once and what was the pain like in the few days post op? Do they prescribe pain meds for use at home or is that not necessary for most people?

The literature I was given mentioned “light” bleeding for several weeks or more, and I CANNOT stand pads. Haven’t used them since I was 16. How heavy is the bleeding and would those postpartum mesh undies be beneficial, especially at night?

Any insight is greatly appreciated. I’ve never had surgery before and also haven’t given birth so this is new territory for me.

Thanks for all your advice, support, and suggestions.

Tomorrow’s contestants - Lansing, MI area viewers

Not sure how many or if there even are any, but just a heads up for anyone in the Lansing, Michigan area, our mayor’s wife, Erin, will be appearing on tomorrow’s episode.

I hope I’m not breaking any sub rules so if I am, I apologize. I read through the Wiki rules and I *think* this post is ok.

Looking for hotel recommendations and breakfast spots

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone can help me with hotel recommendations near the George Van Dusen Theatre at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts. We are coming from Michigan for a concert there mid October. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy, just not some sketchy motel, as we’re just going to be sleeping after the show and leaving in the morning to come back to Lansing.

Also, any good breakfast places nearby where we can grab some food before we leave?

Thanks everyone!

So a little over a week ago I got locked out of my house when my husband was 3 hours away in a golf tournament that had planned many months in advance.

Anyway, I had to break the glass,m with a rock, the first layer, but I didn’t realize that it was double sided glass and I couldn’t get into the house.

We replaced the entire door last week but I’m still so paranoid. This new door is virtually impossible to lock anyone out, I want to discreetly hide a space key. I ordered two different key holder rocks and they are fake looking and the enclosure so the key doesn’t fall out does not function well.

Tldr: Long story short, looking for something natural to use to hide a key. Doesn’t have to be a rock, just anything that isn’t obvious. Looking for recommendations for either a a specific product that people have had luck with, or a local Lansing area store that has something that would do the job.

Thanks in advance!
