I started off by one-off concerts in my jeep instead of hotel, and weekends for years. Then in late December 2024, I unfornately went thru a bad drug/alcohol dependency issue, which left me in job-less, criminal and then homeless in February. I just treated it like camping (just longer). June i got blackout drunk in Philly during the day and got hit by a car, woke in hospital and suffered injuries to neck, shoulders and back still being repaired/rehabbed. February I got this for about 3,000USD and put only 1,500USD to service it up and repair a few things. Much more spacious etc. I recently just went back to work finally and looking to trade up to a high top, no build like this end of the year maybe next February. Why hightop? Girlfriend wants more space and a little more glamorus appeal. (should just get a g20 or 80s ram van 😉 I will work mainly summer/winter when outside/inside is not favorable and relax from working in spring/fall.

Goals I have in moderating this subreddit is cleaning up the spam, and low-quality posts, the FAQ and continuing to make this kind of life accessible to all even if its a van or another vehicle. (active in urbancarliving and vagabond a lot) We are (the mods) are already doing these as I post this.

I usually am at small music venues in the northeast, mid-Atlantic, DMV checking out punk or metal shows and such. Weekends with girlfriend, mohawk is ALWAYS up and yep still do it in the van even! haha. Thanks for taking the time to read. Feel free to hit me up for any chats, help, etc.

Definitely need to work on some spam-detection systems. But anyone that has potty mouth, your comment is immediately filtered by reddit. just a FYI.

Welp. Good timing kinda. Next week 80s/90s hit north east and my van is officially a ticking time bomb. Gonna get a job challenge and get money together and get a better or brand new van even.

I enjoyed this spring of camping out. Not working but under the table but. Funds are too low to get another chevy van. Thank god its na no build. Im very drunk tonight. This day as been a total bomb.. me and fiance done. Van done. And enjoying the weather is done.

Tommoreow is the new grind to freedom and happiness. But tonight? We are getting drunk. Going to temp agency 830am. And gonna throw resumes out to companies. Goal is to work 6m to a year and get moneynstacked.

Have a good one. Needed to vent. Also, I walk alone, trust no one. I was about to move in with my fiance, thank god I didn't and sell the van. Maybe it was a sign.

Reno Avenue local rock, alt band was suppose to play this friday in york with Billy Lair (on tour), and 2 other local bands but promoter cancelled it. So reno avenue is now hosting it at a house and if you wanna go, hit the band up. There might be a few Hannah Montana covers... they are good are doing that in their shows.

Back in 2022, we had gas prices sky high and same question. I figured i share my little opinion.

1st. Ticketmaster/Livenation gigs, are out. Those people rip off bands, fans and dont deserve a dime to start with. 90% of the "punk" bands can play small-800 cap venues, justtt fine.

2. International Bands. There is a band on tour right now from Japan.. Raw Distractions raw punk. Their margins are THIN. Ice/border control overreach still around and honestly, scares bands from touring in USA atm. Small bands like raw distractions should get all your eyes vs a band touring from USA, in USA. They will be back... will Raw Distractions?

3. Bands like weedeater, koffin kats, horton heat, or bands that play your area every 3-5 months... you dont need to see em. they should know better then to tour somewhat because they know its not favorable to tour even.

4. DIY shows, if its all locals save it for winter time where its prime, bands dont tour in winter usually so thats when i go to diy shows.

5. Consider carpooling to big cities or do a weekender in a big city! "get in the van!"
   I did it in 2022 and gonna do it this summer. spending a weekend in philly, nyc, pgh, rochester, dc, richmond. bonus if theres a after show aswell. like a gig starts 6-10pm -- after show 12-4am.. those are BARGAINS for the drive you make.
