Need advice

I've been welding for quite a while now, 9 years I believe, might tig and stick, no certs. I'm honestly working in a canister factory making 18 an hour. I did structural for a bit until I contracted an injury, but that's resolved now. I don't really know how to proceed with my welding career; I know it's what I want to do, but I'm having issues finding welding companies that take me seriously, and I don't want to travel too far for work. I definitely need to switch jobs if I want to move up in pay, there isn't a serious future for me in this company. Open to any advice here, also willing to elaborate on details about myself and whatnot.

Gimme your best classical or opera (modern classical is fine, une vie à t'amier is one of my favorites)

Is this a termite? Maybe carpenter ant larvae?

I found this while trying to do a burn test on some powder in my dining room to test and see if it was carpenter ants. I'm in Texas and haven't seen termites in my house before, we have had carpenter ants before though.

Need help identifying ant.

I know the photos are super low res, but I can't get better ones with how small these things are. I'm really hoping they're not carpenter scouts or minor carpenter workers.

Any ideas? I've been neutralizing any of them I see with borax and sugar.

Got the tank x six months ago.

Having no issues with it so far, the projector and infrared camera as well as the massive flashlight make for some of the best tools I've ever had on a phone. No issues swapping to Verizon either. But you absolutely have to have a pre-activated Verizon sim.

Need opinions on a custom hood idea.

I've been using speedglas for as long as I can remember, but I hate the way modern hoods pull on your head and yank it forward, especially heavy ones like papr hoods. I've recently tried a fully enclosed welding hood that evenly distributes it weight around your head(It's on one of my other posts) and I loved it for the most part, but it was too heavy for starters; it also lacked a Panoramic view, which is a feature I would like to have. Finding nothing on the market, I think I'm left to design my own. However, I'm having issues finding a helmet that would fully encase my head, that would be up to workplace standards, anyone have any ideas? And sure, safety this, safety that, I work in a garage for myself. No osha here. I'd appreciate any opinions and pointers, thanks in advance.

Anyone seen anything like this before? (Rest of pics in comments)

Haven't been able to fine anything on it, only place I can find anything on it is the ebay auction I won it from.

Fixed my only issue with the optrel weldcap.

Added a button on each side to remove all that pesky glare from this hood.
