Flock cameras going up at dispensaries

I frequent Altius dispensary in Orland Hills. Today I popped in to pick up and noticed a new addition. A brand new flock camera on the property of Joey’s Red Hots. This camera is not facing out over 159th street, it is pointed directly at Joeys drive thru and the dispensary parking lot right next door. When I asked the dispensary workers about it, they didn’t even know it went up. I walked out with their manager to show him and saw his unease about it. I also called Joeys. If you live in the area you should too. But any way this is just a warning because it seems posting these up to point at dispensaries is the latest flocking trend. You’re probably being tracked everywhere already but now they are preparing to take notes on what you’re buying too.

Brunch at North Pond

I took my mom for her birthday and it was such a lovely experience. Food and service was top notch. Grateful to them for making it such a special event for my mom. They even had menus that had her name on them.

Also, I mentioned to our waiter that I had been a fan of chef Cesar on his season of Top Chef and he graciously came out to say hello to us and gave us some honey they make from bee colonies they have on the property.

Menu:
Toast
Everything Focaccia, Strawberry-Chili Cream Cheese, Pickled Onion, Country Ham

Mushroom
Pan seared. Hazelnut Miso. Crispy potatoes. Caramelized onion broth

Chocolate
German Cake. Cherry ice cream. Pickled blueberries, yuzu, lemon granita

Chicago tavern style pizza

It’s getting too expensive to order pizza so we’ve been making our own more often.

Visited for the first time today and was blown away by how beautiful the building and grounds are. If you’ve never gone before, it’s definitely worth seeing in person.
