Uber Lyft dd Grubhub or any others. It appears they are giving violations or even deactivating for things as little as tiling the phone while taking a picture even if it’s crystal clear, customer reporting/refunding for issues to drivers cannot control such as food quality, or not making impossible unless you fly time deadline by even a minute. Even if the customer gave an extra tip, thanks, and a five star rating apparently any inquiry for the order made by the customer the system will still punish the driver.

Is it because of the new legislations on gig worker rights they are firing back in retaliation with the “at will” states argument? Especially given as more drivers are competing for less orders due to high fees and poor support from the company when things go wrong?

Chaos in South Bay this weekend?

Year after year anywhere in the South Bay especially east of 87 is an absolute nightmare for those who not only live there but even just to travel through as not only are there a perfect storm massive protests, sharks games, and cinco de mayo rivalers who do side shows that may shut down up to half of San Jose, officers often do not let drivers detour around the traffic(meaning you finally reach an intersection and think you can breathe a sign of relief only to notice it’s blocked same with every other intersection except the ones they want you to take, and keep traffic diversion plans a secret to radio station and sit alert websites in order to keep rivalers from storming non closed areas for sideshows. But it’s just a nightmare for everyone else who must be in the area. Most people forget. Even if they remember, it’s not really possible to plan due to the unpredictably of the traffic and diversion plans, hi is it this year?

Following up on a previous question I recently asked on this thread I decided to reask focusing on retirement, I have been curious whether are they just cannot fit in even if they were stationed a first tier city for business purposes, not too far from their ancestry city. They end up preferring to live or return and spend thier retirement elsewhere in an overseas place they used to settle in that they have almost no family left by the time they retire. Even if they had been in China for years and own real estate in China. And they have indefinite permits to live and freely enter exit china.

It’s interesting how many left Taiwan due to its economy collapsing in the 2000s due to opportunities to mainland, I am hearing there been a return to Taiwan or overseas trend recently.

Edit: Just don’t feel at home in China.

It appears during the economic Miracle years starting from the 90s many ex mainland inhabitants start to compatriot back to thier original homelands from wherever they migrated to in the world. However it appears many say that they just can’t stay too long in China even if they been assigned to their old home province or city for employment or business. Although it’s also true that many compatriots happen to be stationed 1000s of kms from their family province as many opportunities were in Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou. However, it appears like they still feel better living somewhere out there elsewhere in the world including Taiwan or overseas like Phillipines, Indonesia, Europe etc with no family anywhere nearby or within thousands of miles than to live in China within a province or two/three away from their old clam homes. Despite China giving them right to land and stay and work indefinitely come and go permits.

It’s interesting because some taiwan compatriots practically have no family or relatives in Taiwan. Understandably there are people who move from Taiwan who tried to move back to Taiwan for a few years but just can’t stay as well as retirees with most relatives moved or passed away in Taiwan. And it’s not just the oppressive heat and humidity that drove them away back to thier overseas old new settlement.

Edit: it appears the same thing happens to retirees as well not just business people.

For those in Taiwan they were torn between returning to the busted economy of Taiwan or staying in China.

I heard it’s possible to gain entrance to china this way for quite a number of years already. Especially easier for overseas Taiwanese. One can get a 3 month landing visa this way and maybe even apply for a pass at the same time.

Would regularly airlines accept these documents for flights to one of those cities so one can get the landing permits before going through immigration I heard.

Not sure where or whether I would stay at big bear but need a place to drop off luggage during the day near the visitors center while I go around for activities for two hours. Apparently I hear bike rental places including the visitor center itself is not going to be willing to risk storing a bag for a renter.

This is likely a spontaneous trip which may or may not involve an overnight stay depending on whether get stranded in the mountain by mountain transit.

I heard they lost a lot of trainsets due to a deficit and age. Resulting in severe cutbacks and people really felt it on Earth day when those who want to try it out noticed everyone squeezed to much fewer trains than expected. I’m surprised so many people still take advantage of free train days since the SoCal day pass.

I always think that SoCal weekday pass insane to be priced below a one way trip for most people and they still sell one ways. Not sure what were the board of directors on when But Is the deficit due to it or were they desperate win back ridership using such promotion to try to regain fare revenue? In addition to simplifying the fare structure, anyone know what is going on?
