Career Casters

Hello everyone!

I’m looking for a career caster to help with my employment situation.

I’m currently serving a nine-month probationary period and have just completed my first month. My company has said I could be converted to permanent status before the nine months are up.

However, our sister location is currently closed for a major remodel. Our union has explained that members from that location would have priority over probationary employees like me.

I’m looking for someone who can help me move from probationary status to permanent employment.

For context, I work for one of the Big Three U.S. automakers.

Just got hired at Ford after 10 years! What does onboarding look like?

Hello everyone!

As the title says, I just got hired by Ford to work at one of the plants here in Northeast Ohio. I'm really excited, but I also have a few questions for anyone who's worked there.

What does the onboarding process look like? They never really mentioned what I'd actually be doing. Is there some kind of assessment or aptitude test that determines where you're placed, or is it more of a "we need people in this department" type of situation?

Also, a little full-circle moment: I originally applied to Ford 10 years ago and finally got the official offer this morning. It's pretty wild that it came back around after all this time.

Thanks in advance for any insight—I really appreciate it!

New fan from the States

Hello all!

As the title says, I’m a new fan from the States. 🇺🇸⚒️
A band I love, Booze & Glory, are massive West Ham supporters. Between that connection and getting hooked on European football during the World Cup, I finally decided it was time to find a club. West Ham just felt right.

I’m from Cleveland, Ohio, a proud blue-collar city built on hardworking people, loyalty, and communities that stick together through the good years and the rough ones. From what I understand, West Ham and its supporters have similar working-class, blue-collar roots, which made me feel an immediate connection to the club.

So, what should a new Hammer know?
What club history or traditions should I learn?
What are the dos and don’ts as a supporter?
Which players, chants, rivalries, or matches should I know about? Any recommendations for documentaries, books, podcasts, or YouTube channels?

I’d also love to hear from other American Hammers. How did you become a supporter, and what’s it like following West Ham from this side of the pond?
Looking forward to learning more and joining the community.

Cheers, and Come On You Irons! ⚒️

Coming from a Wrangler

Hi everyone, yes as my title says I’m coming from a Jeep Wrangler. For context my wife and I are looking to start a family.

As much as I love my wrangler it’s time. I’ve had it for 12 years. Bought it off the lot and have 211K miles on it. No major issues, just normal wear and tear.

My question is what was the biggest thing that surprised you about your pilot? Both good and bad.
