Huge 145$ taxi scam?

Got charged 145$ from AT&T ( after a concert) to Uptown Dallas for a 30 minute ride. We couldn't find an uber and the Taxi driver said flat rate 140$ because te taximeter would be more cause of the traffic. But there was no traffic and when asked , answered that he knew a way without traffic. And if he put the taximeter, he would go from traffic. No logic at all. He also said Ubers asked for 160$, when at the app was around 60$ (but couldnt connect with any) . He also added 5$ for transaction fees HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I didnt know the laws and the rules of this country and thats why i agreed and paid at the end. Is this logical cause of the demand?

What to do in Grand Turk ?

Hello everyone,

I will cruise for the first time with Freedom in 2 weeks. First stop is Grand Turk, and i dont know what to do! I dont care so much about the city, except if its something very special. I would like to relax/swim in a nice beach and maybe explore the island if it is worth it. Is some RC excursion worth it?

DFW to Uptown Dallas

Hello everyone,

I will visit Dallas for the first time and i will be staying at Uptown Dallas. Public transport from/to DFW is always 1,5 to 3 hours (according to google maps), when the uber is like 25 minutes. Is this correct, is there an alternative?

Where to stay ?

Where to stay in Dallas for 2 days? Basically 1,5 cause of a concert. So there is only one uptown hotel in my budget(381€) and a lot of hotels downtown. Is the uptown hotel the best location;
