Hello everyone:) I’m a bank note collector from the United Kingdom, something which i have been doing for a little while.

I’m currently looking for Brazilian notes (As well as notes from most countries in the world, as i often trade or give them to my brother who also collects)

I currently have several of both the Cruzados, and cruzeiros, but there are still many more i’m looking for.

I was wondering if anyone would like to trade or sell any of their demonetised bank notes with me, in order to help grow my collection. I will link some photos of my collection in the comment section when i get a minute.

Ich habe vor mehreren Wochen schlechte Nachricht erhalten. Die Oberstufe, die ich in ein Paar Monaten anfangen werde, bietet leider kein Deutsch mehr an. Ein Kurs, auf den ich sehr viel gefreut habe, ist weg. Ich werde glücklicherweise ein Privat Abi machen, um Deutsch zu lernen, denn ihr weißt alle, dass deutsch ja das wichtigstes Fach ist. Das private deutsche Abi ist aber wirklich teuer, daher muss ich es anerkennen 😁.

Ich werde auch sowohl Politik, Erdkunde, und wirtschaft als auch deutsch lernen, da sie wirklich interessant sind.

Hallo! Das ist mein erster Post, und daher weiß ich nicht, wie das eigentlich hier funktioniert. Ich will, Dass mein Post korrigiert wurde.

Ich bin seit einer Woche in Griechenland , genauer gesagt auf Kreta, und es ist ja wunderschön! Ich bin in die lokale Stadt gegangen und habe zwischendurch die Altstadt besucht. Die Stadt heißt Rethymno, und man kann dort viele Sehenswürdigkeiten besuchen, Wzb „Venetian Port“ und viele Geschäfte.

Da mein Hotel Vollpension ist, muss ich nie rausgehen, um Frühstück, Mittagessen oder Abendessen zu essen. Es gibt hier sehr leckeres Essen, das ich viel genossen habe. Kaninchen schmeckt mir wirklich gut!

1. Firstly, can anyone please describe to me what “Rotweinmund” and “Rotweinmundgewandten” actually mean? They’re repeated many times in the song, and directly translate to “red-wine mouth” and “versatile red-wine mouth” Sorry if they’re incorrectly translated. To me, these lyrics make no sense, so I presume they’re simply idiomatic or poetic, but I would be very grateful if someone could explain.

2. What is a “Sackgassenwand?” Again, sorry if this is incorrectly translated, but that directly translates to a cul-de-sac wall… Presumably it literally means something else, but again, i would appreciate any clarification.

3. What on earth does “Schreib’ ich Schubladenstücke mit glashand” mean. Schubladenstücke means drawer fragments, which i am pretty sure cannot be written, and what is “glashand”? Is that just as the name suggests, and hand made out of glass?

4. When the lyric “hab’ ich mal gefragt” is repeated, is he asking a question, as i have recently learned that colloquially, the verb and the pronoun can simply be swapped when talking, and as well as this, no question marks are listed on the lyrics.

5. What does the lyric “Kamst du sofort und bliebst bis zum Tag danach” mean. Why is it just “Kamst du sofort?”

Well hello everyone, i’m Tommy and i’m the moderator from the United Kingdom (Crazy right, in a nordic subreddit) I thought i’d be different and help out, firstly because of course, all nordic cultures are particularly fascinating, but as well as that, being different isn’t bad; If everyone was the same, imagine how boring the world would be!!

Anyway, I thought i’d share the three things i’m most interested in, in my day to day life.

1. Travelling.

I absolutely love travelling around all the various European countries. Here is a list of countries, that i have travelled to within Europe, and the amount of times.

Luxembourg is by far my favourite country in the world, it is absolutely gorgeous, and the culture is also fascinating. That made me learn the language (we’ll get to that later)

Fun fact - I’ve been to every corner of Scotland, which includes John O’Groats, Cape Wrath, Mull of galloway, and Berwick upon tweed.

2. Learning Languages

Currently, I am learning 3 Languages, on top of my native English. These languages are:

- German 🇩🇪 - Ich spreche ziemlich gut Deutsch. Ich lerne Deutsch seit 2023, vor zweieinhalb Jahren, als ich eine Austauschwoche mit einer Familie in Süddeutschland gemacht habe. Ich könnte dann kein Deutsch, und ich habe danach angefangen, die Sprache zu lernen. Heutzutage, spreche ich Deutsch täglich, da ich mehrere deutsche Freunde habe.

- Luxembourgish 🇱🇺 - Ech schwänzen eng bëssen d‘Letzebuergescht, allerdéngs ass et e schwiereg Sprooch. Ech sinn Véiermal nach Lëtzebuerg gaangen, a et ass mäi Liiblingsland.

- Finnish 🇫🇮 - En opiskele niin paljon suomea nykyään, mutta se on edelleen kaunis kieli. Se on todella tärkeä opiskelen, kuitenkin viime vuonne, menin suomessa, ja harjoittelin minun suomea.

Language learning is my hobby, and i spend a couple hours daily learning different languages. I only recently started learning Luxembourgish, so my skills are great yet.

3. Collecting License plates

This is my main hobby, however i had spent an absurd amount on foreign license plates. The two most interesting plates in my collecting are those from Liechtenstein, and that from the Åland islands. I linked photos below. They are worth roughly £250 each. I have a license plate from practically every European country, other than a couple difficult ones. I also collect those from different continents, however those from Europe are the main point of my entire collection.

Hi everyone, I’m Tommy from Manchester, England and I am 16 years old. I have a passion for Languages, especially those that are germanic. I recently started learning Luxembourgish, and it is super fascinating to compare it to German. I hope you can help me. I’ve also been learning Finnish for a year or two now, i’m not good at all as it is a very hard language but i still maintain my skills daily. I’ll now try and write in the languages i am learning, but there are very likely going to be lots of mistakes.

Ich bin der Tommy und ich lerne Deutsch seit fast Zweieinhalb Jahren. Ich bin mehrmals nach Deutschland gefahren, und habe dabei meine Sprachfähigkeiten verbessern. Deutschland ist auf jeden Fall mein Lieblingsland, und ich habe deswegen die Kultur des Landes Viel erforscht. Mein Traum wäre eigentlich in Luxembourg zu leben, weil sie dort abwechslungsreiche Sprachen sprechen, die mich interessieren.
