BE25 Outdoor Issues

I recently upgraded my fibre and needed a router to cope with the higher speeds. I was using an ISP router with a Deco BE65 connected to it. When my new fibre was installed, I did a reset on my 2 BE65's and BE25. One BE65 is now the router, and the BE 25 remains connected to my network switch via ethernet, as it was before. However, the devices that use the BE25 are regularly disconnecting from it. The Deco app shows each device as having a "Strong" connection, but if I tap it to see the RSSI value, they all say -100dB and it never changes.

I didn't have any issues when the BE65 was in access mode.

Tapo 4K stream issues

I am making another post about this, because I have been doing some extensive testing.

My C675D lags and stutters when viewing the 4K stream in the Tapo app.

Several people have said that solar powered cameras aren't designed for it, and I completely refute that idea, simply because I have no issues with a Eufy and Reolink 4K solar powered camera.

Anyway, I decided to buy the Tapo C575 for testing purposes. I have it plugged in to mains power, and I set up the Wi-Fi connection first.

The 4K stream still lags and stutters when viewing it in the Tapo app. I then reset the camera and plugged it in via Ethernet this time.

The 4K stream in the app is about as bad as you can get; pretty much unviewable due to stoppages.

I decided to enable UPNP and created an account so that I could use an RTSP stream in OBS. The RTSP stream is 4K and it's perfect!

I decided to install an Android emulator on the PC, and install the Tapo app through that.

The stream via that method is also terrible.

The problem seems to lie within the Tapo app. The question is why?

Tapo C675D cannot cope at 4K

Wifi is strong at -50dB. I have Gigabit speeds outdoors. I've tried different 5Ghz channels and 2.4Ghz. I've tried a hard reset. I have adjusted all settings available in the Deco app. The camera will not stream 4K smoothly. It stutters at 2 second intervals. It's the same when viewing on a Samsung galaxy S23 ultra and Xiaomi pad 8 pro.

I don't have any issues with 4K streams from other manufacturers.

I have tried everything! The only other thing I can think of is that the player in the app cannot process image data fast enough.

Seriously frustrating after moving away from Eufy. I had a terrible time with their cameras, and the advice was to switch to Tapo.

S340 won't stay connected to WiFi

The first few weeks I had issues, and then it settled down to work as expected. Today however, it will not stay connected to WiFi. I unplug the solar panel, and plug it back in, and it joins the network fine for about 30 seconds, before it stops working again. Signal is strong, as I have an outdoor mesh unit providing 1Gbps outdoors. The dB value is -40 which is excellent, so I don't understand why it would suddenly start acting up.

It is hands down the most problematic WiFi camera I have ever owned.

Deco BE25-Outdoor BE3600 Disappointment

I own two BE65 Deco's. One is connected to the router upstairs, the other is downstairs in the Kitchen. No issues inside, and excellent up to around halfway up my garden. However, the top half of my garden is more secluded, as it's where outdoor seating is, and a handful of Wi-Fi devices, such as smart lights and a security camera. Wi-Fi in the top half of the garden is spotty, and devices often keep disconnecting from the network. If I stand in the right place, and hold my phone out/up, pointing towards where the Wi-Fi is coming from, I can get lucky and get 800Mbps in a speed test.

Anyway, to solve the spotty Wi-Fi and disconnections of outdoor devices, I bought a Deco BE25-Outdoor unit.

Before I ordered it, I decided to unplug my kitchen BE65, and set it up in the place where the outdoor unit would go, just to see how the performance was.

I positioned it just before the halfway point of my garden. I stood adjacent to it on the path and did a speed test on my phone. I managed to get my full speed of 945Mbps down. I then went to the top of the garden; signal was great, and stable, and a speed test gave around 700Mbps.

BE25 outdoor unit arrived, set it all up, and placed it where I tested the BE65 yesterday. I did a speed test whilst stood adjacent to it, just like yesterday. All I got was 200Mbps.

The Deco app says the outdoor unit has medium signal to the bedroom unit.

Moved to the top half of my garden, signal on my phone is just as poor as it is without the BE25 running, and speeds are less than 100Mbps.

How can it make everything worse? A BE65 in the same place had no issues.

When checking devices connected to the outdoor unit, and tapping the signal icon to see the dBz, every device says "3"

You also can't see the dBz value of the deco's connection to the main one.

The other thing; TP-Link should also not be allowed to sell it with Wi-Fi 7 plastered all over it. It's not even Wi-Fi 6E ffs

Deco BE25-Outdoor BE3600 power cable

Hi I need to get an outdoor unit fitted but I cannot find any images of what the mains power cable looks like. I have a large outdoor waterproof socket that caters for large adapter plugs, but if the plug is the same size as the ones that come with the BE65, it'll be far too large to use.

I need to see an image or video to check.

Cheers.

Pad 8 pro and UDP Multicast packets issue

I recently bought my mum this tablet. She likes looking at my weather data, so I decided to install an app called WeatherLink Live for her to use.

The app listens on port 22222 for incoming UDP Multicast packets supplied by my weather station hardware.

The wind speed updates every 2.5 seconds. It does this using the same app on my phone, and on her old tablet, and works flawlessly.

However, on the Pad 8 Pro, it doesn't. It updates maybe twice a minute, despite the app saying it's 'Live'

All devices are connected to the same network. Battery optimization is turned off. I've tried the 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and 6Ghz connection.

I've tried a static IP on the tablet, and turned of randomised MAC address. I've toggled on/off all connectivity settings I could find, and even a couple in the developers options, but it simply won't work.

If I manually put the IP address of my weather station in to to the web browser on the tablet, and refresh the page every 3 seconds, all of the data is updating fine.

The only thing I can think of is that Xiaomi's got some kind of aggressive filtering going on.

I just don't get it.

Any help would be most welcome.

Adguard public DNS not blocking ads on TP-Link Deco BE65

I recently noticed that ads were appearing on websites I frequently use. I thought it was an issue with the adguard public DNS. However, ads are being blocked when I connect my phone to my mobile network, so the issue lies with the BE65 mesh.

Any ideas?

I've lost patience with this TP-Link product, it has been the most troublesome mesh I have ever used. I have noticed a consistent problem when using my phone; the connection goes dead. I go to visit a webpage, and it takes like a minute to load. I might be on a forum, and leave a thread to go back to the home page, while it should take milliseconds, it's just waiting and waiting.. I get the same problem with games as well.

I upgraded from a really cheap mesh, just because I wanted something more modern, and with an app. But right now, I am thinking of going back to it, because this BE65 is absolutely infuriating.

Adguard DNS Stopped blocking ads on news websites

I visit my local news website multiple times a day, and all of a sudden, ads were absolutely everywhere. I checked that the DNS was still blocking ads, which it says it is. But I have since noticed that the DNS I is no longer blocking ads on nearly all local news sites that I've tried. Anyone else seeing this?

Eufy E10 Pathway lights

I've picked up a set of them as they were on offer at 60% off.

I've been cycling through the AI suggestions and found some I wanted to favourite. However, it starts off exactly what I want, but then they start flashing on and off in a random order. Sometimes all 4 go out, or just 2 etc.

I have tried dozens of AI suggestions, but every single one does the same random flashing, on and off pattern. I typed in "Rainbow Gradient" for example, it starts off looking great, and then it goes in to this weird flashing on and off pattern again, and doesn't look anything like how it started.

"Static Red" or "Solid Red" typed in, and they all start flashing red and white ffs

It doesn't match what the animation in the app is showing either.

Is it a bug with AI, or a defective set? It just turns in to the same mess on every AI suggestion.

Garmin Edge cycling computer

I am having trouble connecting my Garmin edge 850 to my BE65 mesh. I did a factory reset on said device and got it to connect briefly, but it stopped connecting to it again. It does the same with the dedicated IoT 2.4Ghz network as well.

What is strange though, the device shows to be always connected to the network, despite it being fully turned off. It's the only device to do that. All other Wi-Fi devices that turn off will leave the network and show as offline.

TP-Link Deco BE65 issues

Can somebody tell me why 'Specified Connection' doesn't work for devices when selecting it in the app?

One device I want to connect to a specific hub, doesn't.

I turned off 'Mesh Technology' for it. I've rebooted the mesh and device several times, but it just doesn't obey this setting.

What is the point in having it in the Deco app if it does nothing?

Not only that, the 'Specified Connection' option for the particular device has vanished from the settings.

Bought my first Eufy device

I've got several wireless cameras installed from other manufactures, but I wanted a decent ptz solar camera to keep an eye on my Koi pond (herons & cats)

I bought the S340 and got it set up and installed quite quickly. I was checking the view via the app whilst I was sat by the pond, with no streaming issues.

I'm now indoors, and thought I'd check the camera out now it is getting dark. There's no issue with viewing the stream, but whilst the stream is being viewed, it causes all of my 2.4Ghz devices to slow right down, and even disconnect. As soon as I close the stream, everything goes back to normal.

I have used dozens of IP cameras over the years, and none of them have ever caused this issue.

My 2.4Ghz frequency is good for 574Mbps, so bandwidth isn't an issue.

Does anyone have any ideas?

PS: I cannot view my camera from the web portal, either. I have it enabled, with a security pin, but it simply refuses to connect.

Cookie deletion issue

Hi

A forum that I use daily has some customisation options, such as themes. A theme that I use is helpful for me because of poor eyesight.

I am using Adguard for Windows. I'm not too sure, but I think it is deleting the cookies when I restart Chrome browser, as the forum theme keeps changing back to default theme.

Is there a way to stop this happening on specific sites?

Many thanks.
