In the Name of the Father is a 1993 biographical crime drama about Gerry Conlon, a young Irish man wrongly accused of a 1974 IRA pub bombing. It stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Gerry and Pete Postlethwaite as his father, Giuseppe, who are both imprisoned for a crime they did not commit.

Polish Consulate in New York at 233 Madison Avenue was vandalized with red spray paint covering the entrance, security cameras, doors, and even the Jan Karski statue outside the building.

"NYPD responded around 8:00 AM and launched an investigation into what they classified as criminal mischief. So far, no arrests have been announced and authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.

What makes this especially disturbing is that this isn’t just another building — this is one of Poland’s oldest diplomatic missions in America, serving millions of Polish-Americans across eight states and standing as a symbol of Polish heritage in the United States for over a century. The images of the vandalized Jan Karski monument have especially angered many in the Polish community.

Even more concerning, community organizations are already saying this may not have been an isolated incident, with claims the consulate has faced repeated targeting in recent days. Police say they are still determining motive and currently have not classified it as a bias crime."
