Hades Breaching Drill - Am I Reading This Right?

Hi everyone.

I've got a couple of Hades Breaching Drills in my collection, unassembled, that I bought when they first came out as I loved the look of the models.

I was looking over their rules this evening, as I'm thinking of finally gluing and painting them up, and found what could be some abusable rules text.

Their special ability, Subterranean Assault, states, "Each time you set up this model on the battlefield using the Deep Strike ability, you can select one friendly Astra Militarum Infantry unit in Strategic Reserves. If you do, set up that unit anywhere on the battlefield that is wholly within 9" of this model and more than 8" away from all enemy units."

If I use this ability to deploy a unit from Strategic Reserves, can I then make a normal move with that unit?

The usual rule preventing a unit from moving after deploying from an Ingress Move is covered in the Ingress Move rules themselves (20.04), where it states, "AFTER MOVING: Unless otherwise stated, until the start of the next Charge phase, your unit is not eligible to make any other type of move." However, the unit deployed using the Subterranean Assault rule never made an Ingress Move.

Am I missing something here?

ETA: for people saying the rules haven't been updated for 11th, why is it that the deploying unit can be 8" away from enemies? That seems like an 11th edition update to me.

2nd Edit: The previous version of the rule states, "Subterranean Assault: Each time you set up this model on the battlefield using the Deep Strike ability, you can select one friendly Astra Militarum Infantry unit in Strategic Reserves. If you do, set up that unit anywhere on the battlefield that is wholly within 9" of this model and more than 9" away from all enemy units." So it has been updated for 11th.

What's Your Favourite Hellhound Turret Weapon?

Pretty much a Ronseal post here.

I'm planning on taking a Hellhound to an event soon but can't make my mind up which turret weapon to take.

What's your favourite Hellhound turret weapon and why?

Chaos Chosen - Is There A Best Big Guy?

I'm looking at possibly doing a Chaos Chosen team for Blood Bowl 2025/Season 3 in the future.

Out of the three Big Guys available to the team, is there a universally best one? Or are each of them useful in their own right?

Second Advancement for High Elf Dragon Prince?

Hi everyone.

I'm currently coaching a High Elf team in my local gaming club's league. I'm 3 games in out of 11 with a 2-1 record.

So far, I've leveled up two Linemen, one with Kick and the other with Sure Feet, and a Dragon Prince with Dodge. Said Dragon Prince currently has 6 SPPs so is getting close to being able to get a second Primary skill.

I'm uncertain what to go for. So far, I've been using my Dragon Princes to break through my opponents' line and act as scoring threats as well as roaming blitzing threats.

My thoughts are that I should consider Catch, Sure Hands, or Side Step to make him a better scoring threat, Hit and Run or Tackle to make him more of an offensive threat, or Pro just to give him more flexibility and reliability (and even give me a better chance of staying on his feet by rerolling Steady Footing rolls). I'm also considering if I should save up for Mighty Blow or maybe even a stat increase.

Whilst I have used my Dragon Princes to take down the ball carriers, I'm aiming to turn my White Lions into my sackers, so Leap or Strip Ball aren't really on my radar.

Does anyone have any advice for me here?

Are Plasma Cannons For Scout Sentinels Just A Bad Choice Now?

With the changed rules for Hazardous Weapons, are Plasma Cannons now just a bad choice for Scout Sentinels?

7 Wounds, and each time you fire you've got a 1/3 change of losing 3 of them.

Has Anyone Ever Created House Rules For Levels Above 9?

Our Spellweaver is getting a lot of XP per scenario to the point that they'll soon be more than one level ahead of the rest of us, yet hasn't yet made any progress towards their Personal Quest. There's every chance they'll hit the level cap of 9 and possibly earn enough XP to hit the equivalent of level 10.

Has anyone else ever been in this position? Did you allow that player to hit "level 10" or above?

High Elves vs. Skaven Advice Wanted

Hi everyone.

My High Elves are playing against a Skaven team tomorrow and I'm a bit concerned.

The two Gutter Runners each have Sidestep, with one also having Catch and the other also having Steady Footing. The sole Thrower also has Dump Off, whilst the Rat Ogre has Stand Firm and Guard. There's also one unskilled Blitzer and 6 unskilled Linerats.

My team has two Dragon Princes, one with Dodge, one White Lion, 7 Linemen, one with Kick, and I'll have to take on one Journeyman. I'll probably have at least 65k in Petty Cash for Inducements; I'm planning on a keg of Blitzer's Best and a Prayer to Nuffle.

I'm not too worried about offense, as the Skaven will have to set up first and I can react to that, including feeding the Journeyman to the ROgre. It's defence that I'm concerned about.

If I deploy anything within 8 squares of the line of scrimmage, I'm liable to be Blitzed by the ROgre, especially if I try to defend the side zones as he'll surf me with no chance of me returning the favour due to Stand Firm. And if I don't defend the side zones then the Gutter Runners will slip through easily to score.

What can I do on defence in this line up?

Looking For Help Sourcing Clothing To Cosplay Commissar Yarrick From Warhammer 40,000 (UK)

Hi everyone.

I'm planning on cosplaying as Commissar Sebastian Yarrick from Warhammer 40,000 at an event in August, who can be seen in the attached pictures. He wears a black, high-collared long coat trimmed with yellow epaulettes and a red lining, as well as a large peaked cap.

I'm pretty well set on the weapons, armour, and accessories, as I've got access to a 3d printer and have stls for almost all of the relevant pieces. The only things that I'm short of are the coat and the hat.

I'm not really in a position to try and create these myself, so I'm looking at buying them outright and modifying them slightly if needed (e.g. the symbol on the front of the cap).

Being that the event is in August, and in the UK where our access to air conditioning isn't great, I'm concerned about the kinds of material it would be made from, as I'd rather not keel over from overheating if possible. The coat appears to be leather or similar, but I'd be willing to look at something that breathes more easily in the August heat.

I've searched on Etsy and found a couple of sellers that sell coats for this type of character. [This one](https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/4497483581/wh40k-commissars-inspired-cosplay-gothic) looks pretty decent, but then again the only photos shown seem more like promotional photos rather than photos of the actual product, which makes me wary of what the quality will look like. The shop reviews seem okay, though I'm not terribly impressed by the photos that reviewers left (most of them look like thin faux leather with creases aplenty).

Does anyone have any suggestions for where I could buy such a coat and/or hat from? Especially if you've bought this exact cosplay (or similar) yourself.

That Feeling When You Have To Fire Your Joint Most-Expensive Player After Your First Match In A League...

Played my first match in my local gaming club's Season 3 Blood Bowl league yesterday. My High Elves versus their Necromantic Undead.

For the most part, the game went fairly well for me, despite a terrible first half where my first three turns ended in a turnover caused by rolling a 1 on the first d6 I rolled in each of those turns (turn 1 was a ball pick up, then turns 2 and 3 were dodges into open space). At least I did safe moves and reasonable blocks before those d6s were rolled, though. The failed ball pick up led to a big scrum around the ball, deep in my own half, which I was lucky to not get scored against as a result.

Scored 2 Touchdowns in the second half to win 2-0.

Unfortunately, my opponent was foul-happy (performed 6 fouls across the entire game, getting 3 of his players sent off in the process) and one of them took out one of my White Lions, cracking his skull to give him a -1 AV penalty going forwards. I had no choice but to fire him after the match, as there's no way I want an AV 8+ Blitzer on my team. He even had 2 SPP from my sole Casualty of the game.

On the plus side, one of my Dragon Princes scored a Touchdown, went for a random Primary Agility skill, and rolled up Dodge, so I've now got a Blodging Blitzer after my first game (he even successfully rolled two Steady Footing rolls out of 3 that game, too, so it's quite appropriate). One of my Linemen scored the other Touchdown and got MVP too, so I picked Kick for him. I also picked up an Apothecary from my winnings, too. From here on I'll be saving up for my first Phoenix Warrior and to replace the White Lion.

Overall I'm down a White Lion, but up two very decent skills and have an Apothecary for the future. That's Blood Bowl for you!

[Blood Bowl 3] How To Change Your Coach Name

As it's currently on sale for 60% off, I picked up Blood Bowl 3 last night. When creating my account, I entered the wrong Coach Name and would like to change it.

Does anyone know how to do this? Or, worst case scenario, how to delete my account so I can register a new one?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of assembling and painting my High Elf team for my local gaming club's new Blood Bowl league and came across a bit of a quandary.

I've got two sets of the 3rd edition metal High Elf team which means that I have 4 Dragon Princes, 4 White Lions, 2 Phoenix Warriors, and 14 Linemen. Obviously, for the current incarnation of the team I only need 2 DP, 2 WL, 2 PW, and possibly all of the Linemen (depending on how bad my casualties go).

I had planned on basing the excess Dragon Princes and White Lions on square bases, painting them up as statues, and using 3 of them them as my turn marker, reroll marker, and score marker. However, I remembered that the previous version of the High Elf team could have up to 4 Catchers (I.e. White Lions).

Would I be silly to actually glue and paint up the 3rd and 4th White Lions as part of the team instead, in case I get the chance to use them in a previous edition of the tabletop game? Do many people play the previous editions of the tabletop game much?

I actually have several of the 3rd edition metal and plastic teams, so knowing this would also help me with any future teams I glue and paint up.
