Do facials ever do anything for your skin?

Anytime I've had a facial it was basically to be polite because I was having a spa day with girl friends who were also getting facials, or it just worked well with our schedule and other peoples' massages etc. They don't do anything for my face that putting some lotion on couldn't have done. Sometimes they even just irritate my skin. I've had them mostly at spas inside of high end hotels, but also at day spas.

Anyway, do you get facials? Do they help you, or do you just like feeling pampered / to destress etc?

What's it like to be proud to have a baby / babies?

Hi, I hope this is ok to ask here. I personally don't feel that interested in having babies, but I was talking to my parents about when my sister and I were babies. I was thanking my Mom for how nicely she used to dress us, like little dolls. When they took us to Disneyland (regularly since we lived in SoCal), Japanese tourist women would ask to take photos with us because she dressed us so nicely. Anyway, my Mom said she loved letting them take photos because she was "just so proud" of us. Which is sweet, and I got incredibly lucky with my parents. But also, I don't get it.

Can anyone explain more to me about that? What's it feel like, what's the thought process? Thank you, and best wishes to you and your families!

Virgin loyalists, would you cruise another line if it were adults only?

I've only cruised VV. I love VV! But I see it as my only option because for my vacation, I love a child-free atmosphere. Still, I wish I got to experience other cruise lines to really be able to compare for myself.

Are there other people like this? Thoughts?

Why didn't you guys tell me Rami Malek plays Benjamin?!

Book person here. Having a rough week and watching the movies.

I have not been this shocked since I finally started watching Harry Potter and Robert Pattinson literally fell out of a tree into the set.

Can I use the companion fare for First class to Hawaii?

Open to any card, including business cards.

I'm seeing older content saying no, but looking at the current terms I'm not seeing that.

Does anyone know if I can use the companion fare for first class to Hawaii?

Were recordings played in Vietnam as a PsyOp against US soldiers?

This morning I was scrolling and heard this super creepy audio of a Vietnamese woman speaking English. The post said it was played to US soldiers at night.

She was saying chilling things, but that also rang true. Like 'You will get a medal, but only after you are dead.' And expressing the sentiment that the US government fooled and then abandoned them. I can't find the post and when I look up similar recordings all I can find are creepy sounds.

Was this real? I can't find *credible* sources showing this or any other recordings were played to soldiers.

Ok, I kind of get team Jacob now

I never really understood how anyone could be team Jacob, he's just so childish and doesn't really have manners. But I'm watching the movies, and I do get it now- I think he comes across way better in the movies than he does in the books. Like in the movies, when his friend says he saved food for him, he say "good job" just to be kind. In the books he's actually squabbling over food sometimes.

Also, Daddy Alice has basically been doing the "secret pay" for Edward the entire time with her insider trading, right? Like Edward has never worked a day in his life as far as I can tell?

Alaska Credit Cards: Are they worth it for me?

Hi! I live in Seattle and fly to Hawaii 1-2x per year with a friend. I fly to Vegas/California maybe 7x per year (both solo and with a friend).

I do usually have at least one checked bag, but will book first if it is only 100-200 more per leg.

I'm trying to increase my comfort, so I don't want to do inconvenient stuff to try to get perks (red eye flights, weird days, etc). Also, Alaska lounges would be at best a fallback for me.

I'm not sure I understand and can pencil out the perks. For example, the flight I am looking at one way from Hawaii would be 96k points. So, the 25k "companion" points don't seem that valuable since I wouldn't even have the extra needed to actually buy the companion ticket? Thoughts? Thank you!

Did anyone else stop getting text/notifications? [USA]

The past couple of days Airbnb hasn't sent any texts or push notifications when a guest messages me. For one of the guests, with an existing booking, there isn't even an email. Nothing at all.

All my phone settings and settings in the Airbnb app are correct, and this just started happening sort of randomly. It's possible it coincided with a phone update, but I don't see how that would prevent Airbnb from texting / emailing.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any fix? Thank you.
