Subs for bipolar parent support

Stumbled across this sub via another community. Is there an equivalent vent and support sub for children of bipolar parents?

I don't want to post on the main bipolar pages for fear my sharing my experience will hurt bipolar parents and similar

Name of Million penguins Nightclub music CPJ

What's the name of the music that played in the nightclub for the one million penguins celebration? I loved dancing to it, I'm going to ask the Devs if we can buy it for igloos too

But I can't find out how to award a comment. How do I award specific comments? I can't see the option when I click the three dots

People's "surprise" at me losing weight

Has anyone experienced negative comments from people when they learn you're losing weight? Last time I tried to lose weight I learned not to tell anyone I was doing it because people made comments.

I've been told the weight "looks good on you" (I'm 20kg heavier than the normal range for my height and fit XL trousers at the store where I used to fit M) but a comment that set me back in my journey was someone I'd not seen for a while was "surprised" I was losing weight, the implication being my weight was normal. That stopped me losing for a while because I kidded myself that maybe I wasn't actually overweight and could get that extra cappuccino...

Anyone had a similar experience?

Coming to terms with weight gain after illness

I might delete this later. I'm having a hard time coming to terms with my weight gain following two bouts of serious illness this year and last year. Two years ago I used to compete in martial arts. Out of the blue I developed a blood clot and learned I had a genetic disease. I was put on blood thinners for life, which ended my career in martial arts. I focused on recovery, and my weight remained stable.

Without going into details, in the two years since I've had another two serious illnesses due to my condition. When I've been ill I haven't been able to exercise at all. I've come out of the latest bout the heaviest I've ever been - 80kg, obese on the charts for me - and obviously have lost all my muscle from martial arts.

I did calorie counting after I recovered last year and took up running, but felt awful while I was doing it - I had no energy and fell into a depression, which I haven't struggled with since I was a teenager, which affected my work and relationships with family and friends. Something about calorie counting seems to really trigger me and felt really unhealthy for me. I do also have eating disorders in the family - I remember feeling fat at school when I wasn't, and some of my siblings have eating disorders.

I'm trying this time to focus on returning to full fitness, getting back to running which I loved, and staying well while trying not to eat treats too often - but also struggling with being 80kg now and having to choose XL clothes at the shops.

How long did it take in months/years for anyone here to lose weight gained after serious illness? Anyone else here for who calorie counting didn't help?

Starting again after illness

I'm back. Finished C25K last year, fell very ill, couldn't walk for months, now tentatively trying to run again after a few months of consistent good health.

Could do with some encouragement. I'm nervous I won't complete my first run.

Got my money back after withdrawing to a closed account

A week ago I accidentally withdrew my PayPal balance to an account I'd closed that I'd forgotten to unlink from my PayPal.

The money didn't bounce, but fortunately, I'm in the UK and the Current Account Switch guarantee meant the money has now been transferred into my new account.

Posting this in case this happens to anyone else, and remember to double check your bank details are correct and unlink any expired cards. Lesson learned.

Accidentally withdrew balance to bank account I've closed, will it eventually bounce?

Made a stupid mistake and withdrew my PayPal balance to a bank card that I closed years ago. Will the payment eventually bounce?

When you get bad matcha, make matcha cookies

Shibui matcha in the UK was rather disappointing (and their whisk broke instantly) so I made these matcha cookies :) 🍪 Which has brightened my mood 💚 I use the recipe on Just One Cookbook

I'm Scottish & English and hate being asked where I'm from... Any other countries have the same?

I was born in England to a Scottish dad and English mum, and moved to Scotland when I finished primary (elementary) school. I've now lived across the UK and because my English accent never changed in Scotland, whenever I'm in England I get called Scottish, and whenever I'm in Scotland I'm called English, and always in both countries, I get the question

"where are you from?"

I'm wondering if the focus on where you're *from* exactly in your country is a British thing? It's like you have to pick a side, you can't be both you have to be one or the other. (And only English people say they're British)

I did travelling years ago and loved that when people realised I was from the UK I was immediately accepted as from the UK, no one was trying to figure out if I was specifically Scottish or English.

Do the French insist on knowing if you're from Brittany or Bordeaux? Do Germans consider you not German if you're from Hamburg?

Any fellow English & Scottish/ Welsh & English/ Irish & English friends who can relate?

My lungs just don't like lifting weights any more

and it really sucks. I'm getting back exercise and successfully added walking and swimming to my repertoire. So I went back to the gym today.

I was delighted to see I could still lift 8kg dumbbells and 12.5kg overhead barbell press. Until that evening when I was absolutely ruined from it.

This just sucks. I love the gym, I love feeling strong, and muscle would help me lose weight, but my lungs and heart just don't seem to like something about weights, whereas they're fine when I'm swimming.

I don't understand, surely my body would be happier with weights than swimming because swimming is cardio whereas heart rate doesn't spike with weights? It feels like my body is working against me.

Anyone had similar issues with returning to weight training? I feel so sad about this.

My history for reference is clots in both legs, bilateral PEs and new diagnosis of post thrombotic syndrome this year

Lake Shore Scree Path (Not Reccomended)

In the Lake district, England. Why is the trail not recommended 😂

(scree means slope covered in lots of gravel. Quite slippy I imagine)

Why are Avanti trains changing in Wigan in July?

Travelling for work on 5th July, is this the same train or do I need to change platform?

The return journey the following week is unaffected and it's direct back to Glasgow

Only thing I've found online is an alert from June, but doesn't make sense as to why it doesn't apply the next week

Anyone here with a Mirena/ contraceptive coil? Blood thinner question

Does anyone experience cramps and bleeding after exercise? I got a Mirena coil two weeks ago. The fitting barely hurt, and everything was great for the first week, there was some spotting for three days then it stopped.

Then I went to the gym this week and as soon as I finished my workout cramping started and I spotted again, I took paracetamol (Tylenol in the USA) and the cramps went away so I thought nothing of it. Then today I went swimming and the cramping started again when I'd finished and more spotting.

It's a week until my period so the bleeding is from the coil. Anyone else get cramping every time they exercise? Do I just need to suck it up and keep going? Could my blood thinners be causing the spotting?
