Languages Phoneme Distribution by Language

I recently stumbled upon this post which compiled phoneme frequency distributions of various languages. Although I'm a fan ccaccus's work, I couldn't help but notice the lack of certain languages (specially my own, Spanish [native tongue ego]), and so it inspired my to start my own compilation!

Currently, it features 28 languages (26 if you don't count dialects), and it only includes frequencies in percentage, so that means no ranks only (although this could change if needed). The languages are: Arabic, Cantonese, Czech, Dutch, English (GA), English (RP), Esperanto, Evenki, French (France), German, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazak, Korean, Malayalam, Mandarin, Mapudungun, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (American), Spanish (Spain), Thai, Toki Pona, and Turkish.

Hope this helps people understand what phonemes and how second articulation affects distribution overall (for example, /k/ and /n/ appear really frequently, but other languages place /n/ lower if they have nasal vowels). I'm also looking to expand this compilation to other languages, so feel free to suggest studies/papers :)

(Heads up! There's a little of self-research made with pronunciation dictionaries, these languages are Portuguese, Spanish (Spain) [CMU], and French)

"Hotel Hell" Badge Guide July 2026

I recently got the Hotel Hell badge and I've learnt a lot ever since!! I wanted to do this guide since most of the info I found when I was doing the challenge was really outdated and wanted to help other people that haven't got this achievement yet :)

Just a heads up: Hotel Hell doesn't have a fixed way of obtaining because it's a challenge that one should build with their knowledge and skills, I'll be showing the modifiers that worked best for me and what modifiers are usually harder. A lot of modifiers that I used require certain achievements!

Tips

  • In the Pre-Run Shop, I always bought lockpicks for skipping dangerous locked rooms and vitamins for running, they come in handy but aren't 100% needed.
  • You must learn the basics of entity dodging, these techniques can save you more often than not when dealing with Rush/Ambush/Blitz. Try to experiment and test these entities as much as possible to internalize their line of sight and hitbox.

My modifiers loadout

Locked And Loaded (+10%)

"Increases chance of locked rooms. Has a chance to lock normal rooms."

Way better than Key Key Key Key, Locked And Loaded only locks every ~5 doors for just 5% less than Key Key Key Key.

Smelt It (+5%) [Requires 'Whoever Smelt It']

"Increases chance for Firedamp."

Same as Locked and Loaded over Key Key Key Key, it works like lite version of Dealt It while only gaining a slightly less percentage.

El Goblino's Payday (+15%)

"No gold can be found."

This disables the possibility of guaranteed items like the Crucifix on Jeff's Shop, so you might want to change this one if possible.

Rush Hour (+10%)

"Rush will attack more often."

Free percentage if you're already comfortable dealing with Rush :p

Rush Around (+5) [Requires 'See You Soon']

"Rush can attack from the door ahead, instead of the last door."

This modifier can be somewhat deceitful because Rush spawns close to the next door and the sound hint will sound like it's closer than he actually is, however he will still take the average amount of time to pass through the room.

Nowhere To Hide (+10%)

"Hiding spots are no longer guaranteed for everyone."

Used this since I did it on solo, the worst thing that could happen is that a room spawns without hiding spots and Rush/Blitz/Ambush comes but you can still go back to the last room and hide (this situation is rare though, it happened like once in the 50 attempts I did). I'm not sure if you can use this in duo+.

Think Faster (10%) [Requires 'I Hate You']

"Screech will attack much more and give even less time to react."

Easily one of the most annoying modifiers. Screech will probably spawn a lot before than the "psst" queue because of Really Bad Time. Eyes doesn't deal damage if Screech has spawned, so keep that in mind and search for him as soon as possible.

Battle Of Wits (+10%) [Requires 'Outwitted']

"Dupe will almost always spawn and is set to maximum difficulty."

Dupe is easy to deal with as long as you keep track of your current door OR you can cheese it by standing close to a door and seeing past the wall, if Dupe spawned, there will be a black square room with a white base going through the floor, if it didn't, there won't be any room or you won't be able to see past the wall.

Seeing Double (+15%) [Requires 'Not Five Stars']

"Two sets of Eyes will always spawn."

You'll have to look down most of the time, although Eyes is relatively forgiving and doesn't deal much damage if careful enough.

Every Angle (+5) [Requires 'See You Soon']

"Eyes will teleport around the room."

Perhaps sounds like a hard modifier at first but it's actually useful, Eyes can work as a light source and having it teleporting can be helpful.

Run From It (+5%) [Requires 'Dead Of Night']

"Dread spawns in earlier."

As long as you keep moving, you'll barely notice this modifier.

Watch Your Step (+5%)

"Snare occasionally spawns throughout the floor."

Weaker version of Are Those Pancakes?!. You'll be watching your step because of Eyes, and there will still be only a couple every ~5 doors.

Stop Right There (+15%) [Requires 'Back on Track']

"A-90 from The Rooms has a chance to attack."

Highly recommended. A-90 is unforgiving, but it doesn't appear often enough to be a major threat.

Look, Man (+10%) [Requires 'Other Way Around']

"The Lookman from The Backdoor has a chance to appear."

Since Eyes is always active, you're already looking down most of the run. I completely forgot that I had him in mine and I never got hurt once.

Blitz, Oh (+5%) [Requires 'Other Way Around']

"Blitz from The Backdoor has a chance to attack."

The most annoying modifier, Blitz takes a lot of time rebounding but it's still a toned-down version of Rush+Ambush and isn't that big of a deal.

Really Bad Time (+20%) [Requires 'Not Five Stars']

"Most entities will attack much more often."

Perhaps Rush/Blitz will spawn every 4 or 5 doors and Screech will be a little more annoying, but since other common entities like Eyes and Dupe are set to always appear, there aren't any other entities to mess your run.

Bug Spray (-10%)

"Timothy is nowhere to be found :("

The only positive modifier I used since I'm arachnophobic and had to open a lot of containers. If you are okay with having Timothy on your run, you're weird and you should probably deactivate El Goblino's Payday and use a +5% modifier so you can buy a Crucifix.

Modifiers that are not recommended

  • Uh Oh / How Unfortunate / Chaos, Chaos
  • Wet Floor
  • Jammin'
  • Last Breath
  • I'm Tip-Toein' Here
  • Haha / Laughing Stock / No Laughing Matter

I'm Runnin' Here (+10%)

"Rush will move quicker."

Increases Rush's speed wayyy too much, giving you an unfair amount of time to hide.

Key Key Key Key (+15%) [Requires 'Not Five Stars']

"Almost all rooms are locked."

Wastes a lot of time for 5% more than Locked and Loaded, should only be resorted to if you prefer a slower but safer run.

Dealt It (+15%) [Requires 'See You Soon']

"Heavily increases chance for Firedamp."

Gets mixed badly with modifiers such as I'm Everywhere and Key Key Key Key, Firedamp will slowly muffle all sounds and makes it easier for Screech attack you in dark rooms. It can also trap you in a locked room.

Make Haste (+25%) [Requires 'Other Way Around']

"The Backdoor's timer and levers will appear. Haste attacks if the timer hits 0."

The percentage is tempting but puts too much pressure and it's a hard modifier overall because of needing too much active attention.

Good luck and hope this helps! :)

Chandler and JD as an ex-couple

Chandler and JD as an ex-couple makes sense to me. It's not a headcanon that I actively believe as real but in the show, the way Heather treats JD makes me think that they had something in the past, something about the tense exchanges, Chandler intentionally keeping interactions with JD short, her also ridiculing Veronica, etc. It's like if she deeply regrets it and tries to show how much she despises him now. I also specially like to think this because I imagine them as a "both are crazy" dynamic where both liked to be evil just because.
