BMW M4 Competition xDrive Rental - SIXT Houston IAH Airport

Obviously, at this rate, it’s safe to say I’m one of SIXT’s loyal customers here in the US and, indirectly, BMW’s as well at this point lmao. But cars like these definitely make it tempting to try them out without having to deal with the hassles of ownership.

One of my good friends from Houston had a chance to try out the M3 Competition xDrive a few weeks back, which tempted me to book one as well. SIXT advertises it on their website as a “guaranteed model,” but when I went to pick it up, they told me the M3 was already booked out for the day. However, they were able to set me up with a free upgrade to the M4 Competition instead, which made it even easier to say yes lol.

Looks like driving anything else is going to be spoiled for me for good now lmao. I was able to rent it at Houston IAH Airport for $175/day with a $0 deductible damage waiver, which is a pretty incredible price considering the insurance costs involved as well.

Wishing y’all a great ///Monday and week ahead!

Drove the X7 M60i rental to Yellowstone and Grand Teton

Rented this X7 M60i from SIXT Portland Airport last week. Initially I had a reservation for X5 or similar, but somehow this car popped up as a free upgrade and couldn’t say no to it, despite knowing there would be additional costs associated with driving a hungry V8 on the mountains.

So far, I have had zero regrets, just cause it is a very comfortable cruiser. The air suspension and massaging seats really help in reducing the fatigue associated with driving for 8hrs from Eastern Oregon, and at the same time it is very much capable of being one of the fastest ICE-powered SUVs one will ever drive in their life.

However, it’s time to take the car to a wash tomorrow and return it back over the upcoming weekend before I get to drive something else haha.

Not a bad rental car upgrade from X5

I was wanting to rent a slightly bigger car for my group roadtrip to Grand Teton and Yellowstone from Oregon. Booked a X5 or similar category, and got this as X7 M60i as a free upgrade.

New to me 2016 GTI 6MT

bought it off carvana, obviously someone had done exhaust mods to it which was not disclosed in the report. Timing belt had recently seen a change, entire clutch assembly was changed like 20k-ish miles ago according to the carfax.

Will be taking it to get it inspected over the week and hope I won’t be using their 7-day return policy again.

Whatever Turns You On (ft. Bonn) - Preview

Looks like a preview has been uploaded on Axwell - Topic’s YT page?

It’s an Axtone Release, and I am surprised to see Bonn’s name here too.

The credits list also includes YARO and Sebastian Ingrosso along with Vargas & Lagola.

X1 M35i Rental - SIXT Chicago O’Hare

I had initially reserved an X3 M50. However, the branch employee mentioned that the previous renter had trashed the interior, so the car wasn’t available. They only had the X1 M35i to offer during peak graduation season.

Thankfully, I was given a nice goodwill discount, which brought the rate down to $43 per day.

I was genuinely surprised by how nice it was. It felt like driving a raised hot hatch, similar to a Golf GTI/R equivalent, especially since those cars also have longitudinally mounted engines with a FWD-biased powertrain.

Yes, it’s not a “real” BMW or even an M-lite by this sub’s standards, but I still had a great time driving it. 👌

Have reserved a X5 M60i for my NY/DC trip in the upcoming days, can’t wait to share rental car field report on that too!
