GOVERNMENT IN TACLOBAN

Can we vote for someone who’s competent and knows what to do? Di ba kamo na awa ha iba na city na thriving with clear sidewalks, clean city, and a GOVERNMENT THAT WORKS FOR THEM.

Ano it makukuha niyo ha pag boto han same la nga politiko?

- same service, mahinay malipong
- mahugaw gihap it neighborhood
- unsafe city
- no proper healthcare
- no open parks to tambay
- corruption
- unfinished infrastructure

HOW DO WE CHANGE THIS?

If we citizens also start being responsible, the votes are in our hand naman. The government cannot do well if the citizens and people itself cannot practice discipline.

mahugaw it streets kay bis hain la na labog, it pwede ma solusyon? Put more trash bins all across the city and have a PROPER and SCHEDULED pick up ha trash.

Tricycles na naka park sa sidewalk? DRIVERS be responsible, and to the GOVERNMENT to build a space for them (terminal kun baga). And to the CITIZENS, AYAW KAMO PAG PALIT HIN SARAKYAN KUN WARAY KAMO KAUGARINGON NA PARKING LOT.

See the correlation if the government and citizens work together? Ma kukuha nat it maupay na service if we vote for a politician who wants a better future ha iya citizens.

We should question, and we should not just vote kay may kwarta. Think about the long term effect it has ha atun city, not those temporary satisfaction of one person.

SO PLEASE WAKE UP!!

LNU NPA RED TAGGING

Hi, so i’ve been seeing post all across my social media regarding what happened in LNU (it was sort of a supposed seminar for the freshman under ROTC and CWTS), they were told na it was about the WPS conflict, but then diverted to red tagging. I just wanna hear your thoughts regarding the issue as my school (UP TACLOBAN) was apparently mentioned and mentioned false information regarding activism.

Just a Precaution (If you want deep scars)

Hi. So, if you’re the type of person who wants scars just because you think they look nice—or you want deeper scars because you don’t feel validated enough—I’m here to give you some precautions just so you don’t regret your decision.

(Side note: If cutting is your coping mechanism just to stay alive right now, you are valid. If your scars are light, you are still valid).

This is coming from a person who has scars from "bean" cuts, deep epidermis cuts, and cat scratches :). I think some of these effects are not stressed enough to really be talked about or considered.

Long-term effects:

  1. Itchiness: Even if your scars have been healed for years now, they can still very much itch.

1.1 Discomfort: Depending on the number of scars you have and their placement, the discomfort can feel unreal and will sometimes send you into a spiral (basing this on personal experience, of course).

  1. Sparkly/tingly to the touch: When you run your fingers over a keloid or hypertrophic scar, it feels tingly and "sparkly," and it is sometimes very sensitive. (This is the reason why I sometimes wear either compression sleeves or just a spaghetti strap top). If you have sensory issues (which I do), it can be hell when your scars rub against clothes.

  2. You constantly need to apply sunscreen: Remembering to use sunscreen is already a chore, let alone making sure you apply it specifically to your scars to avoid them getting darker.

4.Sensory Nerve damage: If you have damaged your nerves due to the depth of the cuts, cutting won’t feel the same anymore. You pretty much can’t feel anything. There is no cure for nerve damage, either. Nerve damage can also cause you to have chronic illness and nonstop pain and it is a bitch to have.

  1. Laser treatments: If you end up regretting the cuts, and they turn into keloid, hypertrophic, or atrophic scars, getting them treated or removed will sometimes cost you an arm and a leg. So, just keep that in mind.

If you still wish to continue, then I have no control over that. I just posted this so that you know a bit about the aftermath. Love you, twin!

P.S. Yes, the headline is kind of clickbait :)

(i already asked the celebrant if she don’t mind my scars showing if I ever ended up picking the one that showed my scar, she was okay about it), I just don’t know what looks good on me. I’m also too broke to buy clothes rn so that’s all the red I have. And any recommendations on what I can wear as my bottoms that looks nice for 5’2. Thank you!!

EDUCATION PURPOSES, WHAT YOUR CUT MAY LOOK LIKE

Hi, so I unfortunately see a lot of new people cutting here and as much as it sucks to know that more and more people are struggling with life. I’m here to like give you knowledge.

I’ve seen a post here asking what a dermis cut may look like or a cat scratches looks like as it heals. I have both cat scratches and styro.

For info:
My dermis/styro are hypertrophic, meaning, they are raised BUT do not spread, they are confined to where the cut is located. These are 2 months healed‼️

My cat scratches are COMPLETELY healed, and it will fade eventually in a few years or may just look like this for the rest of my life. These are 5 months healed.

Also side note: How fast it heal, and how your body reacts to it, really depends on the ability of the body to heal, and the location of your cut and most especially the after care.

So this post is just to give you insights.

—I have both my upper left and right arm covered with hypertrophic scars—

You also may slid through my dms or comment if you have any questions regarding the healing.

Also excuse my english it is not my native language.

ALSOO: ALL KIND OF CUTS ARE VALID, YOU DO NOT NEED TO CUT DEEPER TO PROVE YOU ARE HURTING. NORMAL PEOPLE CAN’T EVEN COMPREHEND CUTTING, AND THAT ITSELF PROVES THAT YOU ARE SUFFERING TOO AND I SEE YOU AND CARE FOR Y’ALL🫶🫶

Navigating College Life

Hello! Incoming first year at LNU, and also will be my first time apart from my family. I’m asking for help in terms of how to navigate the city, as it is also my first time in Tacloban.

  1. Reccos for where can I eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner?
    - my BH prohibited cooking there, so I’m wondering where can I eat that is really good (I don’t really mind the prices). That is near LNU.

  2. Safe na tambayan at night.
    - Anywhere that is relatively safe to chill in Tacloban. There might be times that I’d like to venture out.

  3. Rules in the city?
    - what are things I should avoid and precautions that I need to know?

  4. Cafes where I can study.
    - i’m a student who loves coffee, and any coffee shop that is near LNU lang.

  5. Decorations
    - Solo room, and I want to decorate my room. Where can I find some whimsy items?

  6. Ukay-ukay
    - I love thrifting so if you can recommend any thrift shop that has a low price will be appreciated.

Thank youu!!!

Walked around the city with scars

Hi so this is kinda the part 2 of my post, so I went through the city, and I chickened out with the sleeveless one and opted for this that half covered my scars, it also is a baby step for me to be finally be able to show my scars without being conscious of it. Thanks a lot to those people who commented on my previous post.

What are your thoughts if you see me out in public with sleeveless?

I’ll be strolling through the park tomorrow and due to the heat I want to wear short sleeves but i’m afraid of what people may think of them. So i’d like to ask for your perspective how would you react if this was in public?

Feeling completely burnt out, overwhelmed by an unfair research workload, and struggling to cope. Need advice or just someone to talk to.

I am feeling completely overwhelmed and burnt out by my research group, and it has pushed me to a breaking point. I need to vent, and I honestly don't know what to do anymore.

I feel like I am doing almost all the heavy lifting for our project. On top of paying my financial contribution for the product, I am solely responsible for the layout, commercial editing, the brochure, the business plan, and the research paper itself. It is a massive amount of work because I refuse to use AI to write it.

Yesterday, I stayed to help them, but today I just completely hit a wall and came home early because I was physically in pain and exhausted. Since then, my groupmates have been relentlessly calling and mentioning me, which is making me feel incredibly anxious and overwhelmed. I started ignoring their messages and calls, and now I feel guilty, like I am being "difficult" for not helping with the physical product making. But at the same time, it feels so unfair because I still have to revise our papers and finish the editing.

The pressure from this research project, combined with a stressful environment at home, has completely drained me. Whenever I come home, I am just too tired to function. I know my group needs me to finish these tasks, but I am just so tired of carrying all this weight. I am tired of being me.

I don't know how to handle my group right now, how to set boundaries, or how to stop feeling like the bad guy when I'm just trying to survive the exhaustion. Any advice, coping strategies, or supportive words would mean a lot right now.

Is this considered severe/bad?

I am not mentally stable, hence why I need validation. I suffer from depression (diagnosed) and also diagnosed with level 1 autism.

My cousin has known about my cutting addiction for years now, and out of the blue she told me that my cuts were not even bad, that I should not let myself be affected with my surroundings (it’s really hard). She mentioned that my cuts were superficial and that really triggered me after almost 3 weeks of being clean (left and right arm, both are healed).

How bad can BPD go?

(I’m not sure what flair to use) Hi, I’ve seen that we people that has BPD has been misinterpreted by the rest of the population. It’s not about being lazy, manipulative, and has a victim complex mentality.

For those people who do not know how bad can bpd go, i’ll be speaking from experience. I’m Autistic and has BPD, I do not know how to express my feelings out. Because of this I am prone to self harming.

There was one time I spent 6 months in a mental hospital/facility. Because I tried killing myself in a train station (yes, I was trying to be run over by a train). I lost one of my legs because of it, and everyday since then I self harm just so I could not feel the gut wrenching ickly feeling. I have scars all over my arm and the side of my stomach. I wear prosthetic now, and on my way to unlearn behaviors that made me mentally unstable.

I’m not sure if I could ever recover, as right after the 6 months in that mental facility I went over a roof and jumped. That landed me in a hospital, now, I could not freely be on my own because someone was assigned to lookout for me and to make sure I don’t do it again.

BPD, is an illness and 10% of us who attempts—succeed. So instead of being bitter and slandering us with cruel words, learn where were coming from and be more understanding.

Will this blend with my skin overtime or remain red-ish like this?

Me and my cousins are going on an island trip this coming May 30 and first week of June. Will this fade by then? Majority of these are styro (dermis), and a few cat scratches.
