On the hunt for Wild Turkey 12 around Yokohama and Tokyo, specifically the current 2022 Japanese re-release. It turned out to be way harder to track down than I expected, so I'm posting every shop that came up empty to save other hunters the legwork.

This is a mix of places I physically walked into and places I called ahead. Either way, no WT12 in stock when I checked. Stock obviously changes, so your mileage may vary, but as of June 2026, these were all strikeouts.

Wild Turkey 12 was shockingly scarce. Struck out at every one of these, including the big chains (Liquor Mountain, Yamaya, Kakuyasu) and several well-known whisky specialists. The couple of spots that did have it were asking close to 2x retail, so fairly priced bottles are clearly out there but not easy to land.

If anyone knows a Tokyo or Yokohama shop currently sitting on WT12 at a sane price, drop it in the comments. It would save the next person (and me) a ton of (more) walking. Cheers.

About a year and a half ago, I had an iPhone with a lot of photos on it, but my iCloud storage was full. One night, an automatic update failed, and the phone got stuck in a boot loop. I couldn’t log in or access anything.

After it had been stuck in the boot loop for about 15 hours, I decided to restore it using a backup I had saved on a desktop computer in my room. Unfortunately, that backup was from about a year earlier, so it didn’t include any of the photos I had taken since then.

At the time, I thought restoring the backup might somehow bring the photos back or recover them, but it seems like they were lost. I still have the old phone.

My question is: is there any possible way those photos could still exist somewhere, either on the phone, in iCloud, or buried in some kind of recoverable data? Or are they most likely gone for good?
