I hate that I look so hideous

I’m 22F, asian, pretty flat, no curves, no chest (unfortunately), and mid looking roundish face. I’m a cashier at a restaurant, and I had to ring up an order for a really beautiful girl. She was curvy, had a nice face, long blond hair, and pretty eyes. When I was ringing her up I couldn’t help but feel sad that I’ll never look as good as her. I also started to get mad at myself because of the features I was born with. I could never wear a basic tank top like she did and be as gorgeous as her. I’d probably look like a flat board. That was enough to make the whole shift feel shitty for me. I don’t wish anything bad on her, i’m glad that she gets to be pretty. I just wish i could be her.

I know i shouldn’t care about what other people think of me nor compare myself to others but it’s just hard when i’ve never liked myself since i was 7-8 years old. It also doesn’t help when a lot of people in person and on the internet ridicule my appearance. I thought having a bf would help but it doesn’t. I feel guilty sometimes that he chose me to be his girlfriend. If he never met me he would 100% go for her. I’m just an average (or below average according to a lot of redditors) looking girl and i feel like i dont deserve him. He is really attractive and i feel like he deserves someone who is on the same level of attractiveness. It just hurts to look at myself and imagine what i could have been.

Any advice how to stop feeling this way? Please be nice, i already feel like shit

22F—tell me the truth, am I mid?

Wearing a bit of makeup in the first pic. Pretty sure the eye thing is genetic, can’t do anything about that. ANY advice welcome, just don’t be rude about it.

How to make genuine friends after college?

I’m 22 and I don’t really have any super close friends, except my boyfriend, which doesn’t really count. I have “friends” at work but I really just talk to them at work plus I won’t really see them ever again after my internship. I also have school friends but we only ever hang out around campus when it’s convenient.

I try to connect with people but it mostly stays surface-level or fades quickly. It doesn’t help that people have told me that I have an rbf either, and I’m also introverted and kinda awkward. I get jealous of people who always have so many people reaching out and putting in effort to make plans wjth them. I never had many friends growing up and was excluded from hangouts/friend groups. I’ve learned to be more comfortable being alone but can’t help feeling lonely when everyone around me has their own friend groups. Now that it’s time for me to get a full-time job, I’m worried that I’m going to be friendless for the rest of my life, with possibly with no other bridesmaids for my future wedding except my immediate family.

Is there still hope for me? How can I make friends when everyone has their own group already? Pls help ☹️

IWTL how to stop relying on other’s opinions

I’m very indecisive. I’m the kind of person that needs to go shopping with at least one person to know what looks good on me. I can’t even decide whether I should add something I want to my amazon shopping cart. Sometimes I don’t even know what I like unless someone tells me their opinion on it. It’s annoying friends and family members that I struggle with this basic thing everyone should know how to do.

How can I stop relying on other’s opinions to make decisions? I’m not even sure why I’m like this since I had a pretty typical upbringing. Any advice welcome 🙏

Need a good hobby to stop brainrotting

Everyday after work I just go on my phone and brainrot, as bad as it sounds. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week if possible, but even after the gym I just end up going on my phone and doomscrolling. I have other “hobbies” but they are very occasional and short lived, such as playing the flute/piano, reading a book (but not finishing it), or crocheting (too many unfinished projects).

I feel like I want to do something but at the same time it feels like too much effort to do and I’m not sure why. You would think that the urge to do something would spring me into action but i just scroll for hours on end. I feel like such a loser for not doing anything interesting or productive in my free time.

Are there any good hobbies that are addicting enough to replace doomscrolling? Preferably something that doesn’t require too much money or people to participate in since I’m a broke introvert.

Insecure about appearance

My boyfriend is super attractive. He has nice features, a six pack, kind personality, smart, hardworking, etc..but i feel bad sometimes that he chose to be with me because he is delusional. I’m short with flat features and i am shaped like a piece of paper. Don’t get me wrong i love the delusion but sometimes i feel guilty.

It’s been almost 4 years and i am still surprised he hasn’t left me for some better looking girl. I look like a hobo but when i try to doll myself up it’s like putting lipstick on a pig. I try to be one of those hot instagram baddies but i look like a clown. He’s never cheated on me or done anything to make me think that but sometimes i feel paranoid that i don’t measure up to other girls’ beauty. And that one day he will lose interest in me.

How can i get better and stop feeling this way? Any tips and advice welcome 🙏

Annoyed at food portioning

I was working FOH when a customer wanted a bigger plate with brisket. He wanted one entree of brisket and when I scooped the entree there were a few small pieces left in the pan (not enough for another entree, definitely some shredded bits and less than the 6 pieces portion we give). The customer saw this and asked for the extra bits. I gave it to him because there’s barely any left and because the customer could complain about me being stingy (has happened to me before but my manager doesn’t gaf). One of the managers got mad at me for giving it out to him and told me to always say no if this happens. Sounds dumb to me.

In my mind, if there’s only a few bits left, the customer that “finishes the pan” should be able to have it. It seems weird to me to gatekeep small pieces when there will always be more brisket? It is a popular dish so our cook always has some to be cooked. Also if other customers see the leftover bits they’ll just ask if they can get their entree from the freshly cooked one if the current pan barely has any (has happened to me basically every FOH shift, with the brisket and other entrees/sides). If I was a customer it would be weird to me if the person doing my order said no to having the small pieces left over.

How to get rid of dandruff and oily hair?

I have been struggling with dandruff and an oily scalp ever since I was a teen. Every solution I have done so far has been temporary or made no effect. I’ve tried washing my hair everyday, every other day, every 3-4 days, tea tree products, olive oil (yes i know it sounds weird), selsun blue, head and shoulders, miscellaneous shampoos, apple cider vinegar, coconut oil, batana oil, rosemary oil, castor oil, antidandruff shampoos, cold water, hair training, etc…I still end up with oily hair in 1-2 days WITH DANDRUFF. Double whammy. Putting dry shampoo on it just makes the dandruff worse although it helps keep the oil at bay for maybe a day at best. I already wash my hair 2-3 times a week but when I used to wash it more my hair got thinner :(

I have type 1 hair and I know this can contribute to the oils but not sure what the problem is since I know other people with my hair type and they don’t have the same problem, at least not oily hair and dandruff at the same time. To top it off my scalp also gets super itchy. So far I don’t think I’m allergic to anything or have scalp psoriasis since my scalp looks normal besides a bit of redness and obviously the dandruff and oil. I look like an oil rig after a day.

Any help appreciated 😭 sick of dealing with this everyday 🫩

Exaclty what the title says. I have 2 projects due on the same day, HVAC and capstone, totaling almost 30+ pages and I ask one of my guy group members in the project to do something simple like the appendix (copying and pasting the tables) for the report. I essentially already did my part since the other guy said he was fine with doing the intro and conclusion. I told him I had the capstone report due on the same day so I was hoping he would at least pitch in given that it’s just pasting the damn tables and putting sources in. Especially since I didn’t do the calculations and sources because I was busy staying up until 1 am in the engineering building doing my senior desgn project and running simulations. I couldn’t even find where exactly the sources came from. This guy pulls the “but I stayed up until 10 pm doing the spreadsheet so you are responsible for doing the whole report.”

Literally what the fuck. The whole report not including sources and the appendix is roughly 20 pages. I don’t give a shit. I stayed up until 5 am doing the HVAC report and typing 13+ pages of equations. He also pulled the “but other students were doing their capstone too” like ok and? I was basically living in the engineering building and staying till morning with my senior design team because our project sponsor had unrealistic expectations and started adding requirements to the project in the middle of the semester? Also according to the engineering director apparently we picked one of the hardest projects (we didn’t know at the time and the project sponsor was more lenient in the beginning). No other engineering team stayed that late. We got like 4 PhD students to help us run our simulations but they didn’t even know how to fix it so given that i literally need to pass my capstone to graduate, it obviously was the priority for me. Not all engineering projects are the same so some will take more time than others but the dude isn’t even in his capstone yet so i guess he just thought each one will take the same amount of time.

The bulk of the HVAC report is literally just the equations and calculations i typed up from the excel sheet, which took so damn long since there were like 30 equations used. I understand that this guy did the excel sheet with the other dude, which i thanked them for, but did he really have to make such a big deal over me asking to paste the tables and do the sources when a lot of the sources he put in the excel sheet were disorganized and I couldn’t find the exact handbook they were taken from? Literally would be faster if he just did them anyway since he was the one that did the excel sheet? He just wanted to do the excel sheets and dip while i had to write the whole 20+ page report.

I would have done more work for the project given i had more time and wasn’t struggling with the capstone but this guy literally had basically this one HVAC project and had more time to dedicate to it than me. it’s still unfair that he expected me to do the whole report? He ended up doing the conclusions but it was around 80% chat gpt’d when i used the AI detector. So why was he complaining about helping on the report when he’s just going to AI the explanations for the data and conclusion?

In my other engineering teams and projects, when someone has other projects or obligations we understand and we pick up more work than we would normally and it works because we’re all engineering students and understand the stress that comes with it. Sometimes when my other group members in other classes have exams, i do the bulk of the report because i don’t have an exam to worry about and because i literally have more time for it. But somehow when it’s my turn to get swamped with projects i still have to do the bulk of the report?

I have a general idea how it works. But sometimes when forming sentences I get confused and just skip it altogether even though I know it’s important. Like for example in the sentence “kinain ko ang saging” ang is the correct word. But if I said “kumain ako ng saging” ng would be used. Why?

I understand that ng somewhat translates to “of the” in some cases and ang in english is like “the”. I’m mostly unsure how to use it when paired with a verb where a person is doing something to an object.

For example, if i wanted to say i broke the table, which is correct: “nasira ko ang lamesa” or “nasira ko ng lamesa”?
