Cherry wood smoked beef short ribs - First attempt

My first time making beef short ribs!

I smoked them low and slow for 4 hours over cherry wood, then wrapped them in butcher paper with some butter and a small splash of organic apple juice to finish them off.

I’m really happy with how they turned out. They developed a beautiful smoke ring, and the smoke flavor was exactly what I was aiming for—definitely noticeable, but not overpowering. The beef still remained the star of the show.

Oh, and before getting roasted for my knives… I finally orderd a proper set of sharp ones. 😂😂

Not sponsored, but this head shaver has been a game changer for me

I just wanted to share this with my fellow bald brothers.

This is not an ad, and I have absolutely no connection to Philips. I’m just genuinely impressed with the Philips Head Shaver Pro 5000 Series.

I don’t know if this is already a well-known thing in the bald community, but this shaver has completely changed my routine. I can shave my entire head perfectly smooth in under 10 minutes, I never get nicks or cuts anymore, and I don’t deal with razor burn or skin irritation either.

It has saved me so much time every single week compared to using a regular razor.

If you’re still shaving your head the traditional way, I’d honestly recommend giving this shaver a try. It’s easily one of the best purchases I’ve made since embracing the bald look.

Sometimes the best watches aren’t the most expensive [SSC819P1] [SSK023K1]

After owning quite a few watches, these two still get the most wrist time.

I have a pretty decent watch collection, ranging from affordable pieces to more expensive ones, but I always find myself reaching for these two:

Seiko Prospex Speedtimer (SSC819P1)
Seiko 5 GMT (SSK023K1)

There’s just something about them. They look great, they’re comfortable, reliable, and the value for money is honestly hard to beat. Every time I wear them, I’m reminded why Seiko has such a loyal following.
Funny how the “best” watches in a collection aren’t always the most expensive ones.

What are your favorite Seiko models that keep finding their way onto your wrist? I’d love to see what everyone else is wearing!

Finally Back Into Vinyl! Here’s My Current Setup

Just wanted to share my current setup, which I’m really happy with.

I recently got back into listening to vinyl after focusing on digital audio for quite a while, and it didn’t take long to realize how much I’d been missing. There’s just something special about putting on a record and sitting down to really listen.

Current setup:
Turntable: Argon Audio TT-4 MK2 (Ortofon 2M Blue)
Phono preamp: MoFi StudioPhono
Preamp/Streamer: Eversolo DMP-A8
Power amp: Lindemann Musicbook Power 1000
Power conditioner: AudioQuest PowerQuest 2

I’m still pretty new to building a vinyl collection, so that’s the next part of the hobby I’m really looking forward to.

I’d love to hear your recommendations! What are the records that every vinyl collector should own? Whether it’s because of the music itself or because it’s an incredible pressing, I’m open to all genres.
Looking forward to seeing your suggestions!

Which e-reader do you recommend?

Dear book friends,

For some time now, I have mostly been reading on my iPad Air. That works quite well, but especially in the evenings in bed, I notice that the bright screen light isn’t ideal.

That’s why I’m looking into getting an e-reader. The only problem is… the selection is enormous, and I can’t see the forest for the trees.

I’m curious about your experiences. Which e-reader do you use, and why would you recommend it? I’m interested in things like reading comfort, screen quality, battery life, ease of use, and support for different book formats.

Thanks in advance for thinking along and for all your tips!

Welke e-reader raden jullie aan?

Beste boekenvrienden,

My Endgame Setup (for now)😜

I’m currently really enjoying my (relatively) modest system, and I thought I’d share it with my fellow audiophiles. It has taken quite some time to put together, and I’m genuinely proud of how it sounds and how it has come together.

The room is still a work in progress. I’ve added acoustic treatment with absorbers and a 3D diffuser, and I’m continuing to fine-tune both the room and speaker placement. Tips and feedback are welcome!

Current setup

Speakers
Sonus Faber Sonetto II G2

Streamer / DAC / Preamplifier
Eversolo DMP-A8

Power Amplifier
Lindemann Musicbook Power 1000
Dual-mono Class-D design
2 × 250 W into 8 Ω
2 × 500 W into 4 Ω
Extremely low noise floor and distortion
Stable with demanding speaker loads while remaining compact, cool-running and highly efficient

Power & Cabling
AudioQuest PowerQuest 2
Supra LoRad power cables
ESSENTIALS EXCELLENCE 1 Complete Bi-Wire speaker cables

I know cables and power products are a controversial topic in this hobby. I’m fully aware of the “snake oil” debate, but I simply enjoy the aesthetics and the overall presentation of the cabling, and that’s part of the hobby for me.

I mainly listen to jazz, acoustic recordings, female vocals and classic rock. To my ears, the combination of the Sonus Fabers and the Lindemann is something special: smooth, natural, highly detailed and incredibly musical, while never becoming fatiguing.

The Eversolo DMP-A8 ties everything together beautifully with its excellent streaming platform, DAC and preamp functionality.
I’m always open to suggestions or ideas for future upgrades, so I’d love to hear what you think!
