Comfort seat options
Just looking for some opinions on replacing the standard seat on SP. I find the std one uncomfortable for long rides.
There's AliExpress, kelpi and Yamaha's own. Any others?

I thought I'd post about my journey towards net zero bills, gas and electric.
Since adding solar and batteries, extra insulation in house, and shifting a lot away from gas. Here's my monthly bill, well, almost a month. EV still uses mains grid to charge, but did get a few occasions where I got 7kw of spare solar to charge car. House uses zero from grid during this time.
Still got a lot of work to finish my project, but my aim is to export enough electricity overall to pay for little gas usage.
Gas usage is mainly gas cooking hob, which may be swapped to induction.
Heat pumps on the radar for winter.
Currently
Upgraded windows and doors
Upgraded insulation in loft
27kwh of batteries
16.5kw of solar
Unvented hot water now heating from electric
Long term project and winter will be interesting, but last winter my gas bill was very low, as extra insulation keeps it warm. So I'm hoping A2A heat pump will keep my house nice and warm.
Today the app has created a smart charge session.
My EV hasn't been used today, it's sat at 100% and has been plugged in since yesterday, so doesn't need charging.
But a smart session just popped up, anyone else seen this? Never happened to me before.
I know it's doing no harm, but why would it create a schedule if I don't need any charge,
Hey, just checking my logic here,
I have 2 strings, 4 panels each string, 1 string west, one east. You can see the power generation in the pic.
I'd like to free up a MPPT, so I thought to combine them, I worked out based on the graphs I'd of lost about 11kwh of production that day, at 12p per kWh to export it, it will mean I loose about £1.30 a day in revenue, given I'm UK we get about 100 good days a year, I work that out about £130 a year loss. Fitting 8 optimisers at £35 each means about 4 years to pay back the optimisers. I'll generate power on the other 256 days, but I'm just rounding the figures.
Doesn't seem worth it to me? Opinions?
For background, i have 4 MPPTs and they are all in use. Now want to add more panels, so optimisers or more inverters would seem to be the answer. Working out the costs and ROI for the best fit.
I posted a while back on going off-grid with my home in UK, https://www.reddit.com/r/OffGrid/s/g2DBNgEIqE
Update, phase 2 of solar now done, running at 16.5kwp at moment, phase 3 is panels on lower porch roof, phase 4 is in a good few weeks.
Not using a penny of mains grid electricity, and gas has dropped to a couple of £ per month.
24 x 500 watt panels on main roof, 8 x 585 watt panels on garage.
I've got a 12kw sigenstor inverter with 17kw of solar panels.
I have a hypervolt 7kw charger, currently on grid side of sigenergy gateway. The normal way to improve this is to attach it to the smart port. But I'm using that for 3rd party inverters.
So my question is, if I move the hypervolt to the load side, get the CT clamp moved to the load cable, it will work. I know that it will work, but my question is more any reason not to do it?
On sunny days I have more than enough spare solar to charge my EV, but due to the fact my export limit is 4kw, I can't charge my EV from solar.
My house load is normally low, 1.2kw most of the time, although I'm adding a heat pump soon.
I know there's a 63amp limit on my load side of the gateway. Still plenty for me.
Thoughts? Opinions?
Fitted a pyramid rear hugger in matching SP colours.
Hey, probably been discussed loads,
I need to swap the factory 09sp exhaust as it sounds like a hairdryer,
I love the akroprovic, but at 2k, just daft money.
Plenty of options though, what's the opinion on the black widow range?
Any other suggestions?
Bought it last September, new. Loving it, fantastic to ride.
Hi all,
I thought I'd post, never know what can happen. I'm a rare type of personality, INJF, thought maybe an introvert group might work well for me. I'm autistic, high level functioning, OCD, photographic memory and ADHD.
I'm based in UK, nerd, anything marvel, DC, Disney. Not a huge gamer, but looking forward to GTA6, and buying a PS5 pro to play it on, I'll pretty much take a week off work when it's released lol.I do play warzone, although I don't have anyone at the moment to play with.
I decided to ditch a friend lately, as they were seriously annoying me with a macho p\*\*\*ing contest and I'd had enough. I don't tend to get on with males for that reason.
Massive petrol head, love fast cars, motorbikes.
My personality type means I can pretty much work on anything, cars, DIY, isn't much in terms of construction jobs I haven't done, I just tend to get on with things I do it myself. OCD helps me focus on learning the ins and outs of any new things I want to do,
Look forward to chatting, anyone else on here autistic? Experiences?
I've learnt a lot about myself in last 8 years or so, had a pretty bad set of life experiences up to that point, then I started living and learning for myself.
Hey to everyone, been riding for 12 years now, covered about 800k miles in total, not so many over recent years. Passed my advance motorbike test 9 years ago.
Just bought a new MT09SP, as my fireblade needs it's carbs rebuilding, so off the road for a while.
I'd love to maybe see about attending some events, northern based near Manchester.
Working out if I can go to EICMA this year in Milan, anyone know of a group or event going to the event this year?
Hey,
With v4 of the app, the AI is automatically working in background. For example the dotted line for predicting next couple of hours solar, battery etc.
I'm about to add another string of solar panels, any idea if the app will auto refresh, or do I need to hit some button somewhere to reset it?
Thanks
I use a second WhatsApp account for online dating sites, dont want anyone having my real number until I know them better, after checking if it's a scam or fake account as well
Recently WhatsApp account review is way over zealous, I message about 1 new person per day, and apparently that's bulk messaging?
Anyone else seen this?
So I get what the setting is for, but last night, I noticed something unusual.
My setup is time based operation, with grid charge set to 23.30-05.30 online with IOG. Grid import battery SoC set to 40%. I had about 85% battery last night at 23.30.
I was out last night in my car, came home about 22.30, needed about 14kwh to charge car to 100%.
So I understand grid battery SoC to mean that if the battery is above 40% the battery is used up to run the house load until it drops to 40% then it switches to grid import.
All sound good, but today I noticed my car used the battery from the inverter to charge. Hypervolt charger connected to grid side of gateway, but also, I have a setting in the app that says do not export the battery to grid.
My question is, this normal? How did the gateway know the hypervolt needed charge?
Thanks everyone as always for your contributions
In the gateway is a breaker, manual bypass, locked off by a thin piece of metal.
What's this for?
Anyone know how and why you'd use it?
I am getting my electricity meter replaced soon.
The engineer will 100 be unplugging the mains feed in to my house. He won't like the multiple supply warning stickers on my meter. Lol
I don't want him turning my house power off.
I have the sigenergy gateway, so what's the procedure. If there is one, to go off-grid, and allow him to work on the meter without my loosing .y load power to the house.
Background, gateway, with inverter, solar on both inverter and smart port.
Hi,

I've started down a journey of going off-grid as much as possible for my home. Trying to be electricity negative and export enough electricity to offset the small amount of gas I use. Detached house in northern part of England. House had 3.6kw solar when I moved in.

No idea if it's possible, but giving it a go. It's broken down into several phases,

Insulation - Completed
Loft insulation massively increased and way above building regs.
Windows and doors upgraded.

Hot water tank - Completed
Old gravity fed hot water, replaced with modern pressurised cylinder. Direct and indirect heating inputs. So gas boiler and electric.

Central heating controls - Completed
Each room now is independently controllable, so I only hear rooms to what it needs

27kwh home batteries - Completed
This charges from existing solar and grid import overnight at cheap rate.

Solar upgrades - In progress
This will take some time, first batch is 4.6kw of extra panels on garage roof, wired in to inverter directly. Will be done in next few days.

Then it's main roof, upgrade existing panels to better efficiency, and add extra panels to fill the main roof.

Hopefully I'll end up with 15kw, maybe more of solar.

Future plans,
Wanting to install electric heating, underfloor downstairs, hoping I generate enough solar in winter, some days anyway to offset heating in winter.

Home AC, in summer it would, or should be free to use. So I get free AC 4u ning costs, plus in winter it can heat, again no idea if this is doable.

If the overnight electric cost drops again, electric heating in the winter would be cheaper than gas, using stored battery in winter that charges up overnight on cheap electric.

Thoughts, suggestions? All welcome. I'm not convinced on heat pumps, so never went down this road, not have enough land for ground source heating.
Hi all

I have a 12kw sigenergy inverter, with 4MPPT, 24Kw maximum solar input. So that means I have 6kw per MPPT.

I can add 11 panels to each string and stay within my amp and voltage, that would give me 6435w with the panels I use. The installation is east/west split roof. So I'd never see full solar panel output. So is 6435 worth fitting the 11 panel per string? Wonder how much solar clipping if any id get.

Is it possible, or recommended for that matter to mix devices on the smart port?

I have an old AC coupled solar inverter on it present. But I was wondering if I should get my AC EV charger moved over?

Can you have both a generator and consumer of power on the same smart port?

Thoughts? Pros, cons?

Thanks
I have solar, inverter and gateway.
Now my system is on time based mode. Can someone explain the difference below?
Between 23.30 and 05.30 the system is set to charge from grid, now set to 80% battery SOC from grid.
So I assume the battery will discharge during that period down to 80%, then grid powers home during that time frame. Or if below 80% it will charge from grid to 80 and maintain it.
But, my question is, should I have it set to discharge or self-consumption for 05.30 to 23.30?
I want solar to charge battery, when battery is 100% export solar. So what's best options I have?
Also, if I set the battery export limit to 0, that stops the system exporting it's battery, what effects does this have on the two methods of use?
Thanks
