I feel lost and don’t know what to do

I’m 27 years old and have a Master’s degree in Data Science, but I’ve been away from the IT field since 2023. I currently work as a Technical Advisor in a call center, and I’m honestly feeling lost and don’t really know what to do with my career. I’m considering going to Europe to pursue another Master’s degree, but I’m afraid of wasting money and time, especially since I’m not even sure I want to return to IT/Data Science. In my situation, would you recommend doing another Master’s, rebuilding my skills and trying to enter the job market with my current degree, or changing fields completely? I’d really appreciate hearing from people who have been in a similar situation.

Question about age 29 and studying in Italy

I’m a student planning to apply for a Master’s degree in Italy, and I will be 29 years old at the time of application. I’m wondering if being 29 could negatively affect my chances of university admission or getting a student visa .Has anyone around 28–30 years old successfully applied for an Italian student visa and started a Master’s degree?

Switching from IT to vocational training in France as a foreigner

Hello everyone,

I am a foreign from africa graduate with a Master's degree in Data Science, but after some time away from the IT field, I am considering changing my career path and moving towards a more practical vocational training in a field that has good job opportunities in France. I am interested in learning about professional training programs such as welding, electricity, fiber optics, industrial maintenance, renewable energy, logistics, or other sectors that are currently in demand.

I would like to know if anyone has experience with vocational training in France as a foreigner coming from outside the EU. Which training centers or organizations accept international applicants, and what are the best ways to apply?

I would appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or recommendations about training centers that are open to foreign candidates. Thank you!

Anyone else good at programming but struggling with English?

I'm good at programming and machine learning, but my English is holding me back.

Has anyone else been in the same situation? How did you improve your English while continuing to study or work in tech?

I'd really appreciate any advice, resources, or personal experiences.

Is it too late to get back into tech and start Machine Learning at 27?

Hi everyone,

I'm 27 years old. I graduated in 2023 with a Master's degree in Computer Science.

After graduating, I spent about a year unemployed. Since 2024, I've been working as a technical support advisor, which is completely unrelated to software development or AI.

The problem is that I feel like I've forgotten almost everything I learned in university. Every time I think about getting back into tech, I feel overwhelmed and discouraged because it seems like I have to start from scratch.

Recently, I've become really interested in Machine Learning, but I'm wondering if it's a realistic goal at this point.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did you return to tech after a long break? How did you rebuild your knowledge, and how long did it take before you felt job-ready again?

I'd really appreciate hearing your experiences or any advice.

Thank you!

Why am I suddenly thinking about someone I haven't spoken to in 3 years?

I had many friends at university, but there was one girl who was especially important to me. We got along very well, stayed in touch regularly, and had a strong understanding of each other. However, after we graduated three years ago, we completely lost contact.

This week, I suddenly found myself thinking about her a lot, and I can't explain why. It made me want to reconnect with her, but after three years of silence, it feels a bit strange.

I'm trying to understand why these thoughts are coming up now after such a long time. Is it normal to reach out after so many years? If so, what would be the best way to start the conversation without making it awkward?

Why does being too nice sometimes make people ignore or undervalue you?

I've noticed that people who are excessively kind and always available often get ignored, taken for granted, or receive less respect. On the other hand, people who set boundaries and don't always try to please others seem to get more attention and respect.

Why does this happen? Is it a psychological effect, or am I seeing it the wrong way?
