Owlcat creating Dance of the dragon as setting for CRPG game ?

Hey everyone! Now that Season 3 has ended, I’ve been thinking about how perfect the Dance of the Dragons would be as the setting for a full-fledged RPG/CRPG

Imagine an Owlcat-style RPG where you create your own character, choose your origin, family, ambitions, skills, and allegiances, and then get thrown into of the Dance. You could side with the Greens, the Blacks, or even attempt to carve out your own independent path

The main events of the Dance could still exist as the historical framework, but your choices would determine how the story actually unfolds. Characters who died in the original story could survive. Characters who survived could die. Alliances could change. Houses could switch sides. Battles could have completely different outcomes. Even the final victor could potentially change depending on what the player does

And the dragon system alone could be incredible

Instead of simply being handed a dragon, imagine having to search for, approach, and potentially bond with one. Different dragons could have different personalities, temperaments, strengths, weaknesses, and relationships with their riders. Your bond could develop throughout the game, affecting how they behave in battle and how willing they are to obey you

You could eventually participate in huge aerial battles against other dragon riders, but the game could also make dragons feel dangerous and unpredictable rather than just being overpowered mounts

The political side could be just as important as the combat

You could build relationships with the major houses of Westeros

Recruit knights, soldiers, spies, advisors, and other companions

Negotiate alliances and marriages

Manage your reputation and influence

Gain or lose the support of noble houses

Make decisions that cause entire houses to change allegiance

Take part in councils and political schemes

Gather information through spies and messengers

Decide whether to support the throne, pursue your own claim, or remain neutral

Build your own power base and potentially become a major political player

And imagine actually meeting the major characters from the Dance and developing relationships with them. You could interact with Rhaenyra, Daemon, Aegon II, Alicent, Aemond, Helaena, Jace, Luke, Corlys, Otto, Criston Cole, Baela, Rhaena, and many others

Some could become allies. Some could become rivals. Some could become companions or political connections depending on your choices

The game could also have a huge branching storyline. For example, maybe you save Lucerys and prevent one of the major turning points of the war. Maybe you convince a powerful house to abandon the Greens. Maybe you fail to secure an alliance and your side loses a crucial battle. Maybe you become so influential that the original Black vs Green conflict eventually becomes something completely different

And Owlcat would be PERFECT for this kind of game

Their style of RPG already focuses heavily on character creation, companions, dialogue choices, political decisions, factions, consequences, branching quests, and multiple endings. A Dance of the Dragons CRPG could take all of that and combine it with one of the most interesting periods in Westerosi history

You could even have different character backgrounds such as Noble, Knight, Dragonseed, Merchant, Maester, Spy, Exile, Bastard, or Minor Lord, with each background opening different dialogue options, quests, relationships, and political opportunities

The endgame could be completely different depending on what you accomplish. Maybe the Blacks win. Maybe the Greens win. Maybe both sides destroy each other and another house rises. Maybe your character becomes a powerful lord. Maybe you become Hand of the King. Maybe you claim a throne yourself

The important thing is that the game wouldn’t just let us watch the Dance happen

It would let us Live it

Honestly, I think this could be one of the best possible settings for a massive CRPG. Westeros already has everything an RPG needs: political intrigue, warring factions, family conflicts, betrayals, alliances, dragons, sieges, exploration, complicated characters, and countless opportunities for player choice

Give me a massive map of Westeros, a character creator, dozens of companions, meaningful choices, faction reputation, a deep political system, dragon bonding, massive battles, and multiple endings and I’d be there on day one

so what do you think , would something like this actually happen and will people love it ?

If Players Love RPG Romances, Why Are We Seeing Fewer of Them?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to ask something I've been thinking about lately.

As we all know, Larian Studios made Baldur’s Gate 3 one of the most successful and highly praised RPGs of all time. The game has so many amazing features, but one thing that really stood out to a lot of players was the companion system and, especially, the romance.

Millions of players loved the romances in BG3, and I honestly think they were one of the game's biggest strengths. The relationships made the companions feel more personal and gave players another reason to become invested in their stories. It wasn't just romance for the sake of romance either. Your relationships developed through dialogue, choices, quests, and the way you treated the characters.

That's why I've been wondering: if romance is clearly something a huge number of RPG players enjoy, why don't we see more of it in modern RPGs or other games in general?

We've had games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, The Witcher, and now Baldur's Gate 3 showing how popular companion relationships can be. Romance can add another layer to role playing and make players feel much more connected to the characters and their journey. and remember the triss or yen ship war ? yeah it was good

But when I look at many newer RPGs, romance options seem to be becoming less common, we don't get romance at all, even in games with large companion casts.

When Will AI Actually Change Video Games?

Hello everyone,

I've been thinking about this for a while now and I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

Am I the only one who feels like gaming has kind of stopped evolving? Don't get me wrong, games look incredible now. Graphics, ray tracing, bigger worlds, all that stuff is amazing. But when I actually sit down and play them, it still feels like I'm playing the same games I was 10 years ago, just with prettier visuals.

The NPCs still stand in the same place waiting for you. Dialogue is still scripted. Quests are still basically go here, kill this, come back. Open worlds are huge, but after a while you realize they're just filled with the same repetitive activities.

Meanwhile, AI has been improving at an insane pace over the last few years.

So it got me wondering when do you guys think AI will actually become part of games, not just a tool developers use behind the scenes?

Imagine NPCs that actually remember you. You insult someone early in the game, and 30 hours later they still hold a grudge. Or you help a random character, and months later they show up to help you without the game having a scripted event for it.

Imagine walking into a city where every NPC has their own goals, routines, opinions, and memories. You could have an actual conversation instead of choosing between three dialogue options. No two playthroughs would ever be the same because the world would constantly react to what you do.

I don't even care if the graphics stay where they are today. I'd rather have a world that actually feels alive than another game with "the most realistic water physics ever."

Honestly, this is the first time in years I've felt genuinely excited about the future of gaming. It feels like we're finally getting close to the next real leap instead of just another graphics upgrade. If AI keeps improving at this pace and if we eventually get something close to AGI I think video games could change more in the next 10 years than they have in the last 30.

Imagine games where you aren't following a script anymore. You're actually living in a world that evolves with you.

Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I honestly think that's the future, and I can't wait to see it.

What do you guys think? Are we closer than I think, or is this still decades away?

Looking for an RPG with war, politics, and an amazing story

Hello everyone, I just watched House of the Dragon Season 3 Episode 1, Battle of the Gullet, and it was incredible. It reminded me how much I love RPGs set in worlds consumed by war, where every battle feels important and the story keeps you completely invested.

I'm looking for an RPG where you play as someone caught in the middle of a brutal conflict. I want a story that keeps me on the edge of my seat, where I genuinely care about the characters and feel driven to save someone, get revenge, defend my homeland, or fight for glory. I love stories with political intrigue, betrayal, meaningful choices, and a world where death and war have real consequences.

I've already played The Witcher 2, The Witcher 3, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

I'm open to AAA, AA, indie, CRPGs, JRPGs, or action RPGs. As long as it captures that feeling of being part of an epic war with an unforgettable story, I'd love to hear your recommendations.

The Older I Get, the More Skeptical I Become About the Paranormal

Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated by stories about paranormal activity. Whenever I met older people, friends, relatives, or even complete strangers, I would always ask them if they had ever experienced anything supernatural.

Most people usually have a story to tell. However, when you really think about it, many of these experiences happened when they were very young, or there are logical explanations that could potentially explain what happened. Sleep paralysis, misremembered events, coincidences, tricks of the mind, strange noises, and so on.

What I find interesting is that we have millions of photos and videos that supposedly show paranormal activity. Every country has haunted locations, ghost stories, urban legends, folklore, and stories about spirits, demons, and other unexplained entities. Yet despite all of this, we still don't seem to have a single 100% confirmed case that everyone agrees proves the paranormal is real.

If something paranormal could be proven beyond any doubt, it would completely change how we view reality. It would suggest that consciousness might continue after death, that ghosts or spirits could exist, and that there may be aspects of existence we don't understand.

Instead, it feels like every famous case eventually gets debunked, explained, exposed as a hoax, or left in a gray area where nobody can reach a clear conclusion. The more technology advances, the harder it becomes to find evidence that survives scrutiny.

That leads me to my question:

As an adult, have you personally experienced something that you genuinely cannot explain?

Not something you think might have happened, but an event that still makes you question reality to this day.

Or do you know someone you trust completely who experienced something that had no reasonable explanation?

Personally, I've never experienced anything paranormal. In fact, one experience that made me think a lot about life and death happened after I got knocked unconscious during a fight. Someone hit me from behind, and from my perspective it was just an instant black screen. There was no awareness of time passing. One moment I was there, and the next I was waking up.

That experience left me wondering whether death might feel the same way, and I'll admit that thought sometimes scares me. Part of me wants to believe there is more to existence than what we currently understand.

So I'm curious: what is the strongest paranormal experience you've had, and why are you convinced it wasn't just a normal explanation?

Do World Elites Know Secrets About God, Aliens, or Human History?

Hello everyone, just wanted to share this with y’all.

Do you think that the elites, or the people who really run the world whether it’s secret families, secret organizations, lizards, or whatever you want to call them actually know most of the world’s secrets? Hidden knowledge, secret civilizations, ancient history that was erased, things like that?

Do you think they know or have proof if God is real or not, or if aliens exist or not? Do you think they hold this kind of knowledge and keep it hidden from the public on purpose?

Like, imagine being at the very top of the world with unlimited money, intelligence agencies, private scientists, access to classified information, ancient artifacts, secret documents, underground facilities, and technology normal people never even hear about. Do you think they eventually discover truths about reality that regular people will never know?

Or do you think people massively overestimate “the elites,” and in reality they’re just rich companies, politicians, and powerful people controlling the economy, influencing wars, media, and capitalism for maximum profits but they’re still just humans like everyone else, confused about life and death the same way we are?

Another thing I always wonder about is whether there are discoveries or historical truths that were intentionally hidden because they would completely change society, religion, politics, or how people see the world.

Sometimes I think the world is way deeper than we know, and other times I think humans just love creating mystery around powerful people because the unknown is fascinating.

Curious to hear what everyone honestly thinks about this.
