Wheelchair friendly courses please

UK

Theres not much information available but also real world experience is so much better.

We are in Berkshire and did our first parkrun (or rather jog and wheel).

However half the course at Dinton wasnt suitable - gravel and tree roots etc.

Where are the best wheelchair accessible smooth routes?

Porthcawl looks good but how do you get back to the start from the finish?

PS we did a bit extra on the good surface and made our own 5k on strava and clocked in at 52 minutes !

Plasma centre becoming Blood and Platelets as well - same building !

Opening in the autumn

Reading Bridge House

Currently plasma 4th floor moving to 1st floor

Also can now claim travel expenses for plasma of up to £20 which is good as RBH has very limited parking.

Edited to add "We are also excited to share that, alongside you donating plasma, there will also be blood and platelet donors in our new multi-product centre, meaning Reading donors will be helping more patients than ever."

Henley Road Cemetery Query

I was at the cemetery yesterday for ashes scattering.

I hadnt realised that it backs right on the grounds of Caversham Park House.

Does anyone know if the council are planning on buying some of the land to extend the cemetery?

It would seem like a sensible plan?

3D printer help

I have a thing I need to make - a box to replace a missing part on a sewing machine.

I wondered if someone has a printer and can advise?

Or is there a commercial place locally I can go?

Picture of missing part (or rather the bits I do have)

What makes you happy about where you live?

I'm old, female, white and have just been into my town centre alone - had some lovely experiences - my town is really diverse and integrated - it really made me quite emotional with all the shite in the media about so much hate and division - that i am fortunate to live in a place where this is not general reality.

I walked home alone at midnight no fear no worries chatted to some lads half my age (West ham commiserations and spurs congratulations) stopped for chips and chatted to a group of young lasses doing the same (8 years and no ring love he needs to make a decision).

Made me all warm and fuzzy ☺️

Soppy Post

Im am pretty old and ventured into Reading tonight.

Once again I am blown away (and a little emotional - blame the Siren beer) with how diverse and integrated a town we are.

Where people smile and chat each other from completely different backgrounds of all types.

I watched a ginger bloke in a West ham shirt greet an African taxi driver like an old friend.

I chatted to kids half my age from half way around the world - its Para-hwy not Para-g-why apparently 🇵🇾

Jumped up and down to a few punk bands at The Purple Turtle 🐢 💜

Felt completely safe walking home slightly tipsy 🍺

So happy to have made it my home 🏡

Just got an RM2.

Read a lot here about mods and they sound great.

How do you install and activate them?

Tech idiot version.

Also - recommended ones?

Ok so far I have the following and my eyes and brain hurt:

For ordinary windows laptop:

  1. USB cable that came with rm2 plug small end into tablet and big end into laptop

  2. follow link to Mitchell's github the asset ending amd64.zip - download it

  3. double click to install & tell windows to run anyway

  4. input password from tablet following video

  5. now have list of mods - chose some of Michell's and seem to have installed them !
