What do I have here?

I just rediscovered this bill in my closet. Unfortunately, that corner is cut off. (Could a bank have done that?)
What might this be worth to anybody?
Bill is from 1985. I probably came across it 10 years later.

What’s the longest anybody here has gone without driving a stickshift, and then got back to it?

And how did it go? Didjya stall it out?
I went 10 years once…

Does an estate planning lawyer really need an image of my license to make me an executor?

My father’s cousin wants me to be her executor when she passes. She says her lawyer is asking for my driver’s license to finalize the process.

Is it safe for me to send her an image of my drivers license?

I am 99% sure she has good intentions, but only 99%. There has been a bit of bizarre activity in that branch of the family over the decades. Nothing illegal/nothing criminal, but still I worry about sharing…

I would like to know how many people had to approve this gore before it could be designed, constructed, shipped, and installed…

A dozen? Been up for years now, in a college town…

Does anybody know the lifeguarding theory at Evanston’s beaches?

Yesterday at Lee Street Beach I noticed the usual lifeguard scenario: one person checking passes, four lifeguards under the tent by the entrance, one person actively lifeguarding. I suppose the extra four lifeguards are all on the payroll to rotate and keep each other fresh, but also for the moments when they need to clear the swimming area and search for a missing swimmer.

But why is there only ever one lifeguard in the lifeguard chair? Yesterday afternoon it was very windy with 2 foot waves and maybe 70 or 80 people in the water, with a red flag up from the lifeguard chair, but only one lifeguard chair occupied.

If not in a scenario like yesterday, when are other lifeguard chairs ever occupied?

How can I get out of being my cousin‘s executor?

My father‘s cousin is making me the executor of her estate. She lives in California, and is 81 and in good health, and I live in Illinois. This cousin’s mental health is somewhat precarious and it would somewhat break her if I completely got out of being her executor- I have tried a few ideas- so I don’t want to try that anymore.

She has an estranged daughter that she does not want to re-connect with, but I have been in touch with that daughter and me and my brothers will probably continue our relationships with her and her husband, and I would like to just shuffle the whole estate and the handling of it to her. It’s probably somewhere between $5,000 and $50,000. Mostly I just don’t want to get stuck dealing with all the ins and outs of closing bank accounts and selling whatever assets there may be, and all that.

Is there a way I can just hand this off to the cousin‘s daughter? Perhaps there’s an agreement I can make between me, the daughter, and whatever lawyer is involved? The daughter could deal with all the headaches and reap the rewards and I keep my hands clean. There will be a backup executor, but I don’t see that they need to know anything about this. Is this realistic? TIA.
