My Mother was a huge foodie and we always dreamed about going to one of those multi-course $$$$ restaurants but it was never something we could realistically afford.

She died last month and left us a little bit a money. I’d like to use it to fulfill our dream.

I know we have a lot of great restaurants but I wanted to ask Reddit. Where in Portland would you recommend for a once in a lifetime meal?

My mother’s favorite song was Angel by Sarah McLaughlin. I had planned on singing it at her funeral but many friends suggested is was too cheesy because of those animal rescue videos.

Hoping someone here could recommend a cover or different arrangement that might be received better or another song that be a good tribute to a single mother and a very independent woman.

I am a wedding "DJ". I put DJ in quotes because I am not a mixing club DJ. I provide a sound system and MC/DJ services for small, micro or low budget weddings. Most of my clientele had plans to setup a bluetooth speaker and press play on their playlists but realized they wanted a professional MC to help run their event. So my speaker needs are mid. I still want decent sound but don't need a super expensive set up.

Currently I am using Pyle 10" Wireless Portable PA system - 1000W High Powered Compatible Active + Passive Pair Outdoor Sound Speakers w/ USB SD MP3 AUX - 35mm Mount - PPHP1049KT

Looking to upgrade my system and would love to hear suggestions.

It’s time for my birthday dinner and half my friends are vegan and the other half are meat eaters.

Last year we went to MX21 (great food and rooftop dining)

The year before we went to Wajan (great food and good size patio)

What are your birthday dining recommendations for 14-20 people?

I have some friends coming to town next weekend. They come visit about once a year so they’ve been to a lot of the must visit restaurants.

Anything new or different we should check out?

Open to any type of food, no dietary restrictions and mid price range.

I saw this show about 15 years ago at a college (Lewis & Clark or Willamette). Pretty sure it was a published musical and not a devised piece.

I can’t remember the title but I believe it was set in an office setting (not How to Succeed) and math or accounting had a large part of the plot. It seemed modern/dark and the music was very intricate.
