How long could the Earth survive if the Sun suddenly disappeared?

Let’s say our Sun just vanished, no supernova event or anything. How long would it take for us to lose our orbit and where would we go? Would we collide with anything?

Crazy Saqlain Mustaq Stats - one of all-time LOI spinners!

For five years, only one bowler on earth had better numbers than Saqlain Mushtaq. Only one. From 1996 to 2001, he was taking 249 wickets in 139 matches at an average of 20.87 and a strike rate of 29.30. Only Allan Donald had a better average and strike rate during that period, if we consider bowlers with at least 50 wickets. That's how elite saqlain in odi was.

I will say it plainly: Saqlain Mushtaq is the greatest ODI spinner who ever lived. We talk about every great spinner except the one who genuinely terrified batsmen in his prime. His strike rate is still the second-best among spinners with at least 100 wickets. He was an outright wicket-taker.He was not padding his record against weak sides either. He tormented the greatest, most dangerous batsmen of his era. he had the nerve to bowl in the death overs when most spinners hid.

He could have stayed at that peak well beyond 2001. But then County cricket gave Saqlain Mushtaq the world, then quietly destroyed his knees and took it back. Long spell after long spell on those tough English pitches, until his knees simply gave out. Both he and Waqar Younis fell into the same trap, undone by the temptation to play as much cricket as humanly possible.
