i'm trying to consider myself lucky, but still its a horrible situation

Short story:

Boy meets girl, we fell in love and she got pregnant extremely quickly (in her late 30s) within a month of moving in and us knowing each other for 6 months. There was pressure on me to propose and we even looked at houses to buy but luckily we decided to rent.

A few weeks after the birth, we had a weekend which destroyed the relationship. She threatened me to hand over my phone and I reluctantly agreed because I wasn't doing anything behind her back. There was no cheating but she didn't like the way I spoke to my guy best friend. I apologized and tried to make it work but the fights got worse and she just could not let go and we were never able to recover from that breach of trust.

I am trying to consider myself "lucky" in a way because we were never married and don't have any assets to split, just custody of our daughter. I am about 10k in with my attorney on a separation agreement which is 80% just about protecting her (she is a very high earner while I make average.) I sacrificed my modest job to take the maximum paternity leave (8 months) so she could keep her job. I return to work next month.

I never knew what stress was before this year. I'm going out and drinking on my days off and falling into older habits I had in my 20s as a way to blow off steam and release stress. I'm back at home for the time being. The hate she has for me right now seems to cloud her judgement even though me wanting to work with her on this agreement is probably the best thing that can happen to her.

Any advice / thoughts are appreciated.

8k in into a separation/parenting agreement

Hey guys,

I'm almost 8k in with my lawyer with a little less than 1000 in trust right now. We've received a revised separation & parenting agreement from my ex and I'm ready to agree and sign off. They've sent me another trust request which I am annoyed at. I told them I've read it thoroughly and want to sign. I feel like 700 bucks should be more than enough to finish this.

Have I been over-billed for this? To prepare my financial disclosure and make edits to an existing SA (granted she had a lot of comments but still, after the 1 hour in person meeting I assumed maybe 2-3 more hours to make the edits would be enough, i was charged more like 6). Going in I thought this ordeal might cost 3-4k but this is outrageous. There was only one set of revisions sent from our side. Is this normal?

I've been on EI practically all year because of this pat leave and have made some calls to legal aid to see what I can do to end this. I really don't want to be billed another 2-3k.

Any advice on what I should do here? I know there's the law society of ontario as well.

Where are you guys buying jerseys?

After this world cup I really want an mbappe Madrid jersey. On Madrids site even the replica goes for 175 USD plus duty fee as it looks to be coming from the US.

On Adidas Canada they have 25/26 Real Madrid jerseys but no players on the back.

I wouldn't mind a good quality fake either if I can find it. Where are you guys buying your jerseys in Canada? I'm in the GTA so can travel to a store if I can get a deal.

Climate control fried while installing AC compressor

Curious what you guys think happened..

My '17s AC died last week. No more cold air coming. Went to my mechanic and he diagnosed it as a compressor failure.

I bought the OEM compressor for 1k. Went back today for him to install it. He and his guys went through the install and when he went to reconnect and fill my AC, the entire climate control module was offline.

3 of his neighbour mechanics have scanners and one has a 10k scanner and none of them can talk to the car. He had to call his electrical guy and I'll have to go back tomorrow.

What do you guys think happened for the entire climate control to just die like that? Has this happened to anyone else?

Struggling co-parenting

I am at my wits end with my ex and this tricky co-parenting situation we are in right now..

We decided to separate for the last time early April while she keeps our 7 month old mostly with her while she works and I travel and take care of the baby 9-5 during the day, M to F as I am still on my pat leave until September.

We usually get into an argument every other day rehashing the relationship and what went wrong. I have gotten so angry and my fuse is so short from everything that's happened that I resorted to name calling and yelling. I've tried my best to ignore her but I'm not always successful. :/

She wants us to get back together but I see no future. I love my little girl so much but i just can't navigate with this woman right now.. I wish I could take a break from her mother for a few months but it's impossible.

None of my friends who've known me for years would label me as an angry guy but this situation has grinded me down so much. I want to do right by my little girl but I'm struggling and want to give up on this arrangement.

Here in Canada on Sunday I filled my tank for $105 and that's the most I've spent ever for a tank of gas. I try to keep it to 2 maybe 3 tanks a month if I'm not doing anything out of the ordinary.

For the ones who are driving a lot.. have you guys made any changes to your driving in the last month or two? I'm curious how much you guys are spending per month on gas.
