Meteor Captured on Mayon Volcano Livestream, But What Appears Seconds Later?
A meteor appears to have been captured on a livestream monitoring Mayon Volcano in the Philippines.
PHIVOLCS reportedly noted that its Ligñon Hill IP camera recorded a meteor near Mayon Volcano at around 10:33 PM on May 25, 2026.
The descending object seems straightforward enough from the camera angle. But around 22:33:23, another small light/object appears to rise upward from behind the volcano.
What do you think?
I watched the video closely. The first object really does look like a meteor or fireball falling behind the volcano.
But shortly after that, on the right side of the frame, a much smaller and fainter object/light appears to rise upward from behind the volcano.
I’m not saying it’s anything extraordinary. It could be an artifact, compression, volcanic glow, or a perspective issue. But it does look like a small unidentified object moving upward after the meteor-like event.
Has anyone found a clearer archive or explanation for the second object?
