What's the truth about so many unemployed graduates

I am going to university this year and I am so worried about the amount of graduates who are struggling to land a job even those from top uni's. Is it a particular reason or is the economy genuinely rubbish

50yrs ago a Russel group uni or an Oxbridge name would land you a job with a click of a finger a colleague at work shattered that dream for me after finding out he graduated at Oxford and is thinking of going Nottingham to do masters after struggling to find a job. What's going on?

To the yr12's who are in doubt...

-My teacher told me I made the wrong choice in picking History near the end of yr12

-I got 20/40 for my coursework was disappointed couldn't revise whilst everyone in my class got 28+ (majority being 32-40) and my mark was equivalent to a D during the 2025 grade boundaries. I was so embarrassed and told no one

-I was getting E's and D's all yr12

-Got a D in my end of year mocks yr12 and had a meeting

-Worked my butt off from November yr13 and even harder in march staying up late nights, going to the library from 9am-7pm or 5pm depending on the time and my walk home was my break and from 7pm-2/3am continued to revise.

-Fell behind in content and was forced to learn the whole off Germany in 4 days after having to also revise for two other subjects

-For paper 1 I didn't know how to structure one question, paper 2 ran out of time and had a mental breakdown as i couldn't remember much, didn't finish my source for paper 2 and my paper 3 was decent. Right when i got my coursework my teacher told me that I didn't have the leeway that all the other students had. I was going into my exam with 20 marks meaning i couldn't even miss one question whilst others had 30+ marks and my hands would shake and cried to my tutor one morning thinking ill fail.

-Cried on the way home after each paper and didn't think I'd even get a C (which is what i was aiming for) but still pulled out my text book and worked

Would whip out my calculator and try come up with the highest marks possible knowing I'd most likely scrape a C. Results day came I got an A! Clutched during GCSE's getting 3's and 2's and ended up with a 7 and those in my class who got 16 marks more than me on coursework in alevels, had a head start I ended up getting better grades than.

Your textbook is your best friend! All I had was a laptop, Quizlet, a textbook, a couple documentaries on YouTube relating to my course and a dream! Had i preformed better during coursework i would have gotten an A* and my history teacher said she couldn't have been more proud of me i almost cried. Don't give up you got this

What EVERYONE should be doing before August 13th

Unless you have an unconditional offer this doesn't matter but for those who have a conditional offer i advise everyone to do this

  1. Wether you think you got in or not make a clearing list from starting from your uni

2, As soon as it hits 8am clearing lines will be opened and busy i can't stress enough how important it is to sort your uni ON THE DAY you are competing for places against thousands of students in England along with international students. A course that may have space by 8am would be full by 11am some uni's give u a certain amount of days to call up for courses before leaving the rest for international students e.g Uni of Liverpool

  1. Harsh reality is not everyone is going to get into their firm or get their exact grades they want. Some of you reading this it will apply to you, if u are wanting to get into a russel group through clearing may i remind you that you will also be competing against Oxbridge rejects not just from public but also private schools

  2. On your clearing list start with ur uni, find a uni that's one grade lower than required then two and so on you should have atleast 6 uni's that you would be willing to go to have their phone number written down so on the day you are prepared

  3. If you get in well done but if not don't spend time looking up the uni's and the course details on results day do this NOW

  4. Look at other options such as foundation years or options to resit and if you are willing to go down that route

Like i said the harsh reality is that we are all not going to get the grades we want or uni. i also don't want people to have high hopes on hoping you can get in with one or two grades less this year A IT depends on your course and uni. There has been a massive increase in applicants for 17-18yr olds unless you have a contextual offer u may have some leeway. Be up before 8am get ready, have your breakfast and have your clearing list with you and goodluck! Even if u don't end up using it, it can be helpful to a friend

P.s I just wanted to add this isn't just if u didn't get in this can be if you decided u wanted to change your course and no longer want to do things like Law, English, biomed etc or u are not happy with your insurance choice. Make sure you have your personal ID, in a quiet room if u prefer and your phone. Start with your preferred uni and go down the list

In all honesty I don't see costa lasting another 10yrs if they don't change

It's clear that costa is trying to cater to the younger generation by bringing in newer drinks but their target is more so adults to elderly. The quality of their drinks is disgusting and i seen food in the fridge that was over expired. They treat and overwork their staff and in this day and age many of them are young adults or students who are needing some income and can't just get up and leave. Lack of proper training for staff

They have fallen behind and once that generation soon dies out so will costa there are those few cafe's where the drinks are top notch but that's because of the staff who go above and beyond. The company needs a whole rebrand with new drinks and menus and better care for its staff

So when are we going to have the same energy for Julia

It's funny how when it comes to any other cast everyone was quick to call out the racism or micro aggression but when it comes to Julia everyone is silent.

A video from a Joe buggs pod just dropped and I am so glad Julia won I would've burnt the whole villa down if I got sasika as a polish woman after telling everyone not to call me that cause I felt offended. Even Joe couldn't believe it first it was Angie, then Mica and now Julia but from her own cast. At some point we gotta have a serious conversation of how black, Asian and foreign women are treated on the UK and always villainised yet the white men like Kavan, Aidan, Tommy and maybe even Lorenzo get away with anything from fans.

P.s Lorenzo can go to hell for that as well Jasmine wasn't lying about him god knows what producers have hid from us

Julia is better than me cause what the heck?!

What's up with all the micro aggression first it was Angie, then Mica and now Julia but people in the villa were calling her that!?

u/MiserableHawk9469 — 15 days ago

Some of you are embarrassing..

Y'all on here tearing down another woman because of another man's actions and complaining about the win. It's giving pick me and big bird energy and get an actual life. It's been more than a week since this show ended and y'all still harassing them and not just Julia too.

Take some advice get off Reddit, look up a therapist, book an appointment and genuinely sit down and reflect. The fact some of y'all are grown men and women probably older than some of these contestants makes it worse. I'm just reading some of these comments about a WOMAN and y'all saying "She deserved it" harassing her in her comments but not the man?? Actually heal and find a hobby it's getting boring idc if you think they didn't deserve the win or if jasmine and Kavan should've won or they didn't deserve second or Angie and Simba should've came second. The shows ended

Producers may have saved this season... slightly

Judging by the first look all 5 couples are vulnerable just like all stars this year. I think it gives an even plain field and by the looks of it Simba, Mica, Jasmine and Tommy are getting heat I think Julia and Kavan will also. It's great cause the islanders won't have to hold back

Honestly I don't know whose going home it can be anyone cause every couple has done something which warrants them a dumping

reddit.com
u/MiserableHawk9469 — 25 days ago

I hope all 5 couples are vulnerable and not just Mica & Samraj along with Julia & Lorenzo

They need to do what they did last all stars and make every single couple vulnerable because Mica is the obvious answer of who is going home

Why do they keep talking behind Julia's back

This is the exact thing they did to Charleen for a group of girls who have an issue with her they sure do love talking about her. It's getting irritating ATP If you don't like her leave her alone

Secondly why is Jasmine so worried about Lorenzo being bottom 3 😭

For anyone who doesn't understand how Tonight's episode and Sundays episode will work...

I am seeing a lot of confusing and false information being spread so for anyone who doesn't know this is how it'll go. Last night Julia & Lorenzo, Aidan & Priya, Mica and Samraj were all voted least compatible by islanders THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EX ISLANDERS. Maya said in 24hrs a couple WILL be dumped and it's in the hands of the PUBLIC. We voted to save two couples and dump one that couple has already been DUMPED. If Priya and Aidan got dumped we now have 5 which is still too many. Cause as of now we have 6 and only 4 couples can make it to the finals unlike all stars which is 5.

We have 5 and as tradition follows since Mimii's series we are getting ex islanders returning to dump a vulnerable couple. If we don't get a vote TONIGHT then ALL 5 couple are VULNERABLE that means Jasmine, Kavan, Julia, Lorenzo, Angie, Simba, Mica, Samraj, Yasmin, Tommy will be on the chopping block and any of the 19 islanders can get to vote them off even if they are a public favourite. If we DO get a vote tonight then the top 2 couples say Angie and Simba plus Yasmin and Tommy will be exempt from the islanders vote and islanders can't vote them no matter how they feel. This leaves Mica, Samraj, Julia, Lorenzo and Jasmine, Kavan VULNERABLE and one will be missing out on the final 4 spot. This will determine the final 4. Based off reports it seems like we won't get a vote but I think we should as some islanders have a personal vendetta against other islanders like Jordan with Jasmine.

Here are the list of islanders returning and if you have been keeping up with ex islanders (which I have) you should have a clear idea of which islanders are heavily disliked and are at risk.

Can someone help me understand this and break it down..

So Julia got dragged hell and back saying Aidan and Priya aren't compatible (excluding Angie, Simba and Yasmin who backed Julia) yet in the challenge every single couple voted for them as least compatible??? I hope when Priya leaves she takes the time she needs, spend time with friends and family cause the islanders are so fake. You can even see Aidan's face and he has the right to call the boys out for lying to him

May i add everyone keeps saying its her delivery but then why was Aidan questioning the boys and asking why no one told him. Yes Julia's delivery is harsh but its the fact they all sat their especially Jasmine saying "We know your couple is genuine and compatible but you just haven't had longer" the only islanders who said the truth to Aidan was Julia, Yasmin, Angie and Simba

u/MiserableHawk9469 — 27 days ago

What are producers not showing us?

Has anyone realised it's the same islanders getting called out by the dumped ex islanders? Priya, Kavan, Mica, Samraj and Simba? Throughout the whole series Angie, Yasmin, Ellie and Tommy are the only islanders where not a single dumped islander has said anything bad heck even friends.

It's like a rotation 😭 each time I watch an interview it's these 5 who get called out

Everyone said she was wrong but she was just ahead of her time

Julia was spot on about EVERY SINGLE OPINION and i remember a few people here saying the exact same thing getting downvoted. She called it with Aidan and Priya and i am so glad she called out Jasmine for laughing at Priya and not telling her the whole truth. She has her flaws don't get me wrong but my respect for her just went up the way she stuck up for Priya against Kavan and Aidan.

My winner

P.s people keep saying everyone agreed with Julia is so untrue Lola and Mara have called her out calling her calculated and a liar, she's been accused of being a racist and the minority of people think she's been in too many people's business. Julia mentioned that it's not funny and the only person laughing was Jasmine and Priya said something which I couldn't quite catch, jasmine asked if Priya feels she wasn't told the whole truth, Priya felt like jasmine has downplayed it to her about the whole jasmine situation. jasmine said that she didn't think it was serious cause it was her sister and she knows her. In my opinion if a clip was being shown like that of my friend the last thing I'd do is try to hold my laugh in. The only islander who asked if Priya was alright was Yasmin
