I miss the old style of casting they used to do

I get they cast all of these big name celebrities because one, a lot of them have done work with Steve Martin and Martin Short and it's to grab more fans of these actors/things the actors starred in to get into the show, but I miss when they used to cast smaller NYC actors. I don't know why, but it made the show have a certain NYC charm that you don't get from the big names. Tina Fey and Nathan Lane made sense because they're of SNL fame, which makes it keep that NYC charm. Plus, it was only a few guest stars here and there, not half of the new cast being big names. It also shines a light on actors most people wouldn't know about otherwise, Jackie Hoffman, James Caverly, Michael Cyril Creighton, all of these actors are genuinely some of my favourite parts of the show compared to if they just casted some big names as these characters instead of the actors they chose. I know it's because the show has gotten a lot bigger since S1 and all that but I kinda miss the early days when the show felt grounded in reality (Yes I am aware the plot itself isn't realistic, but that doesn't mean that other parts of the show weren't.)

I'm worried about [favourite cast member, likely Angela]

My [favourite cast member, likely Angela] hasn't been in a video for 2 days. To anyone who says they shoot them in advance and she was busy on shoot day no they don't fuck you. They put [cast member I have a grudge against because] in videos instead of [favourite cast member, likely Angela]. WTF is wrong with the directors. I'm so worried about [favourite cast member, likely Angela] what if she quit? Or the director is just being a big jerk to [favourite cast member, likely Angela]. I'm worried about [favourite cast member, likely Angela] I hope they're doing okay because the fact that they put up with this behaviour from their workplace must be so distressing. I am genuinely fuming over this and need to take some time off Reddit. Smosh is my comfort channel and the fact they would do this to me personally is abhorrent.

Why is the fanfiction like this??

I haven't been active in the twitter fandom for a very long time so I don't know if it's still like this, but, a lot of the popular fanfiction by popular authors I notice tends to have this trope between Mikasa and Eren. Usually Mikasa is an innocent (in most cases younger by around 5 years) naïve cute virgin girl while Eren is a manwhore bad boy type character. It makes the stories almost unreadable especially considering that 1, with goth Mikasa existing, even if school castes isn't canon, I feel like it would make more sense for her to be goth or atleast alternative in some way, not a cutesy girl. This isn't the same trope but there was a very popular author on EM twitter (I dunno if they're still popular, this was like 3 or more years ago) but almost all of their stories were her being significantly younger than him. It was pointed out in odd ways too (Talking about her "innocence" and "youth") and they even had a story where he was 24 and she was 16. I mean, maybe it's because I'm a guy and I just don't get it or something but just, why? Do people enjoy reading fanfiction that feels borderline predatory? I don't mean to attack the authors of stories like these but it feels like all of the stories of them are like this. Fuck man I just want to see Mikasa being portrayed in a light that's not infantilizing or mischaracterizing. Just a fanfiction that is and feels like two grown adults. I'll delete this post if it's not within the sub's limits, but I just kinda wanted some fic recommendations and just to complain about this

My dog is going to be put down in a few hours

Yeah. Just the title. I knew it was coming for months, but I didn't think it'd be like this. I'm probably posting this because there's a part in my brain that has hope that he doesn't have anything serious so 10 hours later I can be like "wowee guys he made it!" but I know that's not gonna happen and I can't keep deluding myself like this, I know it'll just make the pain worse. This feels stupid to even be upset about, but then again I've had him for almost 2 decades. I stayed up late sitting with him. Part of it was selfish because I just want to delay it. I'm just gonna try to get atleast 30 minutes of sleep before shit happens

I'm tired of the infantilization

I hate the way that non-transmen talk about transmen. The way they say "transmen are men!!" feels so infantalizing and degrading, like they're talking to us like we're children. No, I'm not a "twink." Cis women also talk about transmen like we're some sort of fictional character from a BL. Or when people say that "transmen are more masculine than cis men!!!" how about we're just normal humans who happen to be trans? It's tiring as shit being treated by both sides like something from another world. I just want to be seen as a human and not as this degrading stereotype of the way people see us

Asking for a binder without outing myself

Any excuses I can use? If not, any websites/brands that don't market themselves as binders or present themselves as a trans brand?

My mom recently had a weird crashout surrounding a video of a trans woman saying she had period cramps, saying aggressive things about her and it was weird. It wasn't that big of a deal because she usually shits on trans women a lot but after that she started talking about top surgery and that transmen are ungrateful because of women who lost their breasts to breast cancer and that my (trans) brother should stop joking about it. My sister, my mom and other sister (just in a less progressive way) all say they hate men in different ways. My sister talks about her hatred of men all the time and my mom and my sister constantly talk about trans women going into the women's bathroom and I just feel like I don't belong. My mom I feel like has become radicalized against trans people as she wasn't like this before and my sister just goes along with whatever she says. I don't feel like I'll ever be accepted by anyone in my family and it's making me scared to say anything
