Took me 4 weeks to set this up any suggestions ?
this is my dad's tank, he used to keep an Oscar in it, its a 220 liter tank n it's 14 years old !
unfortunately the Oscar we had (Gunther) died due to some internal infection
i decided to turn this tank into an planted one but my budget was too low, so i bought 3 low tech plants from the local aquarium shop
pennyworts, amazon swords and ludwigia repens
i planted them in pots because i might take them out and replace them with other plants if needed planted all those plants in separate pots and placed them in a large plastic tub of 60 liters capacity
i left the tub in a shade for 2 weeks the plants grew healthily.
Then it was time, i started gathering materials for the tank
the Driftwood is from a nearby pond i cured it 4 years ago for the same Oscar tank,
went on a trip to Bhedaghat waterfalls in MP, India to collect those natural majestic white marble rocks (ik they will f up the PH but imma add dried Indian almond leaves prior to adding fishes
came back home with 4 rocks, yes only 4 cause i was on my Royal enfield and these rocks are Heavy af
for lights my father had installed normal ceiling LED lights
i replaced it with Wipro smart LED batten (also for ceiling) BUT, i made a DIY reflector using a PVC pipe it's a 20 watt light not much power but i had another 10 watt LED lights for aquarium so the combined wattage is now 30 watt (ik still not enough) i bought the wipro smart batten because i want to automate the lights and it has 16 million colors as well
i have not installed any CO2 Kit, also the sand i used was 50% pure white and 50% brown constructions sand.
i am really tight on the budget for now
i have decided to keep 6 Corydoras, 2 nerite snails, a school of 12 neon tetras and a full moon betta
the filter am i using is DIY canister filter
you guys have any suggestions on improvements ?
also do suggest fishes
this was my first scape btw
also sorry for any grammatical mistakes i typed all this super fast
