Downloading course schedule from student portal into school outlook calendar or google calendar

Does anywhere on the SIS/registration portal generate an ICS file so that the course schedule can be uploaded into the school outlook calendar (or a personal google calendar), or does the class schedule have to be entered manually into a calendar app? I can't find a tab that does this.

Is this the biggest hurdle for sophomore transfers, asking people who have been through it already…

Since transfer deadline is in March for fall admission into sophomore year, you had just 6 or 7 months of college to develop relationships with 2 or 3 professors to the extent that they would want to write a letter of recommendation for you. Is maintaining As in class good enough for this to happen? And is there resentment from the professor that you are leaving since implies that they are not good enough for you?

3 epilog things I want to know which I wished were referenced at the beginning of S 7 at the presidential library:

  1. Did Charlie and Zoe end up together?
  2. Donna and Josh…did the relationship last?
  3. Is Sam poised and prepped to run for the presidency, given that Bartlet basically foretold his presidency in an earlier season?

Minds and machines - similar classes?

I cannot take minds and machines first semester due to scheduling conflicts. It sounds like a very interesting class. I probably would not be able to take it at all since there is a 3 class maximum on HASS 1000 level classes, I transferred in 2 HASS classes and am currently taking one of the few HASS classes that fit in my schedule which is 1000 level. So I would be at the 1000 level max to fulfill HASS core. Are there upper level classes that cover similar material to mind and machines ( hopefully it is not a prereq)

HASS class for incoming freshman

If you have taken either or both of these courses, please comment on how intense they are in terms of writing requirements, and on their ability to balance an intense STEM workload ( and of course ability to contribute to a high GPA):
- Intro to psychology with Jackie Herron Berry
-Intro to philosophy with Thero Daniel Peter

HASS that is not inquiry class for incoming freshman?

I cannot get an INQ class to fit in my schedule. Is it ok to take another HASS class- an intro one that is part of a HASS pathway that I might take? And I take another INQ/Ci one in the spring? Or is it frowned upon to not do INQ first semester?

What is the highest level of math needed for this class? Is it somewhat similar to AP Physics C- Mechanics?

Quacs link to registration

Can a schedule created in Quacs be uploaded to the registration app, or must registration be done by manually entering in each class whether or not Quacs is used?

S6E20 in God We Trust ice cream scene

The scene of Bartlet and Vinick sitting in the WH kitchen eating ice cream from multiple huge tubs full of ice cream, each using the same spoon that they put to their mouths to take from all those tubs annoys me so much. Either other people in the future have to ingest their bacteria, or they dump multiple containers of perfectly good ice cream, each one capable of feeding 20 people. They just seem so entitled. And I like them both as people. There was pistachio ice cream which especially bothered me since it’s my favorite.

Today’s news about press pool on air force 1 being told to pull down the blinds…

Reminds me of the strategizing about how Bartlet could be taken off the plane in the wheelchair without alerting the press.

If you are still here from the last cycle…

How many credits from APs, dual credit classes and/or other college classes ended up transferring to your new college? Did you ‘lose’ any credits, ie school did not accept?

Rafferty

I’m on my second watch and am at S6E16..I relived my confusion during my first watch during the scenes of Toby and the woman at the bar…Could this possibly be Andy being played by someone else or maybe I forgot what she looks like, though that makes no sense? Thinking this because there seemed to be an intimacy there. Nope a few lines of dialogue proves this to be wrong. Is she his dead brother’s wife that he’s hooking up with? Oops nope he just referred to SIL when talking to this person. Is she a prostitute? Especially when Toby asks what career she would have if she didn’t do what she did. Took a while before the reveal.

Systems engineering vs Industrial engineering for a masters

There is a lot of overlap between the two, and there are several degrees called ‘industrial and systems engineering’. Both focus on the whole as opposed to individual parts. If you have a SE masters or PhD, did you consider IE? Are IE graduates often seen in SE roles?

CJ

CJ is my favorite character so I focus in on her. To me she is older than the character she’s supposed to be. For example early on, I believe season 1, Mrs Bartlett is busy setting her up with her friend’s son who is a doctor. But I had a mental conflict there because I see CJ and the First Lady as roughly the same age. I don’t believe the First Lady’s friend with the son was particularly elderly. Then toward the end when we learn about the baby..age wise she would be the parent of a teen at least at that point. I know that technology can intervene to change that, but still. Even the Hoynes affair was written as if he took advantage of her, implying that she was a younger woman who could be taken advantage of. I think from beginning to end the show casts her as someone in their mid 30s to early 40s while in reality she looked mid 40s to early 50s.

Quacs

Incoming freshman trying to use Quacs to generate schedules. I need to choose an INQR class but all sections for every one of them except the principles of economics one is full. I assume that’s because upperclassmen have first dibs, but why don’t they have enough sections for the freshmen? And what do freshmen do in this situation?

Material Science Engr 1600 question

Is it doable to do material science in the same semester as chem 1? Chem 1 is listed as a co/prerequisite to material science. Does 1600 have tons of chem? Did high school chem (not AP) as a sophomore so barely remember anything.

These 2 would have been friends

I used to binge watch madam secretary before I discovered west wing. I think Dr Henry McCord would have been good friends with President Bartlet. They both were so into religion, and they both loved to quote Thomas Aquinas. Also Elizabeth McCord as SoS, pushing an agenda that would be a tough PR situation would make for watchable tv tension with CJ. Wish there could have been a mashup.

Fall class hour schedule (subject)

For this list that is accessible through SIS, someone please explain this: there are 4 sections of intro to linear algebra taught at the same time by the same professor. This pattern of multiple sections same time same professor repeats through many if not all the math classes. What am I misreading? Or have RPI professors discovered how to multiply themselves?
