Ai slop being sold?

Just something I’ve noticed recently, wondered if you have too.
Been looking around a bunch of shops on Ko-Fi to get an idea of what’s popular and what’s not etc. and today alone I’ve found TONNES of Ko-Fi stores selling printable stationery that’s all AI generated imagery. And they’re SELLING them to people? Shops with over 100 sales, and they put absolutely no effort in.

Does Ko-Fi just allow this? Absolutely disgusting if they do.

Questions about selling artwork

Hi there!

Just started selling my art online and just had a few questions. I’ve been researching myself but I’m going in circles and ending up with more questions than I start with 😩

They’re ACEO’s, which are trading card sized original artwork, for reference.

I’ve been listing them on eBay while I figure out the logistics of setting up my own website etc. I just had a few questions that hopefully people can answer here for me. I’m mostly getting answers for UK/American rules when I search myself.

  1. What is the best way to register to pay tax on my earnings? They’re only small paintings and being sold cheap, bid starts at €3 on eBay and then it goes from there. My highest is currently at €15.50 (with 8 days left until auction ends)

  2. When should I do that? Again, can’t find a clear answer on if there’s a minimum income requirement and it honestly will be very up and down with sales. It’s a very saturated market and I expect at least half of them not to sell at all. Didn’t want to go through all the effort of registering if nothing ever comes of it.

  3. Is it worth applying for the artist exemption if you don’t expect to earn anywhere near the threshold?

‘A smidgen of pigeon’

All done with Mungyo oil pastels 🥰

The toughest thing about oil pastels so far has definitely been details. Really is a learning curve to make the illusion of detail rather than actually doing the detail 😅 I’m more used to adding tiny fine strokes with acrylic paint and alcohol markers, but I’m enjoying the carefree aspect of just dabbing the pastel over the piece to add the definition ❤️

Do people prefer round or square corners?

I haven’t made them for a long time, what’s the general consensus on corner shape? I prefer round personally but I can see why people prefer sharp corners as they fit in sleeves/binders nicer.

First day outside in months

I have a bunch of chronic health issues and a physical disability, all of which has led to me being anxious about going outside as I usually end up hurting myself somehow lol. Which has then escalated to agoraphobia and being too nervous to even sit out in my back garden in the nice weather.

Decided to put a stop to it today, installed Strava and made myself go out for a short walk. And I feel great.

1.9k in 24 minutes isn’t too bad either 😊

These are all the lipsticks I’ve bought/been gifted. Every single one just looks wrong to me 😩 I used to wear red lipstick a lot, but even that completely washed me out. I have a really small mouth, a deep cupids bow and a double lip line, so it just looks horrific whenever I try! Lip liner is a no go, it always looks TOO over lined even when it’s just following my lip line.

I usually just wear a clear or slightly pink lip oil and call it a day. But if I try and do a full glam, it’s obvious I haven’t got lipstick on and I look plain.

Any advice is welcome and desperately needed 🫶🏼❤️
