Thinking of switching from Law to Social Work / Counseling Psychology in Nepal need advice
Hi everyone,
I studied BA. LLB , but I’ve realized I don’t really enjoy the field and don’t see myself continuing in it long-term. I’ve been thinking about moving into something more people-focused, like social work but I heard I need to do pg in counseling psychology first to do msw abroad .
I wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with:
- How social work is as a career in Australia or Nepal (scope, pay, opportunities, etc.)
- Doing a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling Psychology and then moving into an MA later
- Specifically studying at Counseling Psychology & Social Studies College in Buddha Nagar, Kathmandu
- And whether it’s possible to study social work abroad after starting in Nepal
I’m really interested in helping people and having a more meaningful career, but I want to make a practical and informed decision.
Any advice, experiences, or guidance would be really appreciated! 🙏
