Just finished reading Project Hail Mary. I haven't seen the movie yet.
Has anyone read the book? Seen the movie?
Any comments, observations, conversation about the science or mbti/enneagram of the characters? Or anything else that you want to talk about?
I'll leave my thoughts in the comments.
I've been struggling a lot with temptation. I finally got a good start on low carb for a week now. It's been really tough to get started and stick with it.
My work is mentally and sometimes emotionally draining. By the time I head home my willpower is very low, and I'm tired.
I'm on a strict diet for migraines, and unfortunately can't use sucralose and peanut butter. This really kills any opportunity to keep protein bars with me for a snack to ward off temptations.
Any tips to stay strong?
Currently I'm trying to remind myself that once I give in, it takes days to undo the carbs. And it's my health. I need to lose weight for my heart, knee, predia diabetes, etc.
One dude on FB mentioned learning to be ok with discomfort. It's really hard at 5:30 or 6pm when I gave everything I had at work and have nothing left.
I did get a McDonald's triple cheese burger the other day, plain, and tossed the buns. That was satisfying with an unsweet tea.
This weekend I installed a 2" handlebar riser on my Canam Spyder. It was really straightforward and not difficult. 4 bolts and I had to cut a zip tie. Hoping this creates more comfort for me on my 500 miles ride to Ohio later this week.

So reddit advertised this at me today. I am seriously tempted to get it even tho I never wear a watch 😂 I think I will pass on it. I wish I had a niece or nephew who would like something like this. 9 year old me would have been all over it.
I dunno what helmet this is, but I need one asap. Lol
