CNAs are grossly underpaid

***I want to start off by saying everybody deserves a living wage, and I don’t think these positions don’t deserve the pay they have, I just wish CNAs were paid at LEAST the same.

I’m so frustrated looking at jobs right now. I’m in Washington state. CNA positions start at $22/hr. A staffing coordinator (which only requires 1 year of relevant experience) starts at $25. TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS. A health unit coordinator starts at $24. Which is amazing for them, but I can’t help but feel frustrated that we’ve gone through schooling and credentialing and have an extremely laborious, dangerous, and demanding job and we get paid less than someone who only needs 1 year of relevant experience.

EDIT: this is the Seattle area. Our minimum wage is $21.30/hr for context.

What are your spooky unexplainable stories you’ve experienced at work?

What the title says. I wanna hear the scariest things you’ve ever experienced while working!
For me, there was a patient on my CCU/CVICU floor that was in heart failure and had an LVAD, but he didn’t take proper care of it at home so he was constantly back in the hospital for driveline infections. His final stay was about 3 months long and he ultimately passed. After we sent him down to the morgue and cleaned his room, his call light kept going off and the TV would turn on at full volume even after I’d go cancel the light and turn the TV back off 😅
And then of course, the universal experience of a dementia patient asking “who is that behind you?” at 3 am in the pitch black dark.

Can’t stop crying.

Tana having children

I’ve heard Tana talk about using a surrogate/adoption when she is ready to have kids. Part of me thinks it’s good because with the way she’s handling her wisdom teeth surgery she would not tolerate being pregnant. But I can’t help but wonder if part of why she wants to go that route is because she knows she can’t/doesn’t want to give up weed, adderall and Xanax for 9 months. 😳🤷🏼‍♀️ thoughts?

Suburban/domestic thrillers

I just read “Someone We Know” by Shari Lapena and I lovvved it! So many twists but they all MADE SENSE and were BELIEVABLE!! love suburban neighborhood dramas, and bonus points if they’re wealthy. What are some of your favorite books that fit into that category?! Some more I liked that are like that are “One Of Us is Dead” by Jeneva Rose and “On a Quiet Street” by Seraphina Nova Glass

Patient on golytely, needed to go urgently. As he’s turning his body to get onto the commode, he spray-shit all over me. Straight liquid. Couldn’t leave him on the commode by himself so had to stand there for 10 minutes covered in shit
