Went back to the Colorado D&Bs (Westminster & Denver) Here’s my experience

Went to Denver first this time, walked in and noticed some of the games were having some issues. 2 Minute Drill only had 4 balls, Down the clown was gitiching, Floppy was laggy, not enough balls in BTP.

Asked a tech about 2MD and Floppy and he said “Maybe you just had a bad play on those”
Didn’t want to make it a big deal but I want people that go to this store to have a good experience.

But on the bright side world football pro was finally working and that game is actually fun and reminds me of Simpson soccer. Only thing is it’s not the best for tickets but arcades aren’t just about making a profit it about having fun. would’ve been the perfect world cup game but the other two options were good.

Also this store had the best Grid Iron Blitz I had ever play, the sensors on the pad were very accurate.

They also had the Avengers Pusher which can be a good snipe if you only need two stones left for the spin.

This store wasn’t bad but definitely was better last year when I went. But I was still able to win a decent amount of games.

Westminster

After 2 hours or so I went over to Westminster. last year this store was a mess maintenance wise but it was slighty more better.

Just like in Denver 2 minute drill only had 4 balls in it but plates and clown were way more better.

Floppy was much better than Denver and all of the other games were good besides from Quik Drop which had a terrible ball dropper and Doodle Jump’s lever being weird.

I liked this store more better since it has alot of unique games that came from the Colo Spgs store or another store. (Waterfuls, gum drop, cosmic XL, Willy Crash, Daytona, Jet Blaster, Squiggle, Snocross, Power roll, Shipwreck and some more) Also has games like Mega Stacker which isn’t at Denver anymore.

Games maintenance was way more better than last year besides from a few games. Their Kick N Win is on harder settings than Denver’s but I still managed to win an Ecuador ball. Also won Tweety from the grab n wins.

Winner circle was filled up at Westminster and I got a box of those Fifa Ballers since I wanted to Display them on my setup.

My Final Thoughts

Both Stores were good and have their Negatives and positives. If you are visiting the area I recommend the Westminster store but Denver isn’t bad either.

Both stores lost (Nascar, Spiderman, GOTG. Emoji, Top Gun, Bobblehead Baseball) since they sent those units to Main Event. Also some more games like Angry Birds Arcade at Denver.

I did see someone doing something interesting with the summer pass, but I won’t say what store or game it was. But they were doing something sorta smart.

Overall good experience these two stores are pretty big and have a-lot of unique games.

I rate 7.5/10 Game Maintenance wise for Westminster and 4.5/10 for Denver. But had a good experience at both.

Dave & Busters is NOW OPEN in Mckinney, Texas. Looks like the best new store within the past 2 years.

Base off of this video I found on YouTube, this store is massive in terms of the midway/arcade.

This is how every single new store should be like. It's around the right size, feels big unlike the newer other stores in Sugarland, Davenport etc. Also gives me the vibes of the stores that opened between 2012-2019 before they started to make them smaller.

There are some unique games that hadn't appear at any stores at this location such as a Dave & Busters branded air hocky table of what I can tell.

  1. Asteroids Recharged Deluxe and another game in an similar cabinet, looks like they are bringing back classic games but in a newer cabinet/modern way.

  2. Also two theater style games similar to John Wick that I can't tell what they are. Hopefully the one discord server can.

There is of course some newer unique games that been appearing at other new stores like StepManiaX, Maimai, Dip n Dots, Typhoon Shockwave, High Five, Krazy Balls, Tornado, escape room, angry birds shooting game etc.

Also since this store has a bigger midway then other new stores it has some older games that hadn't appear at new stores in a while. Such as Pong Knockout, Floppy Tickets, Crossy Road, Red Cup Challenge, Walking Dead, Gold Fishin, Terminator, Zombie and Angry Birds Coin Crash. Wonder if they took some of these from Other DFW Stores like Frisco or Dallas.

Winner Circle and dining area is similar size to other new stores but this store has at least two party ones and the social bays and the arena.

Overall this store looks incredible and this is exactly how every new store needs to be, instead of those smaller ones. 40,000 square feet so decent size compare to the new stores that are 20,000-30,000. The extra square feet went towards the arcade, arena and party rooms it looks like, which is a good move. If they keep opening up stores like this, they will succeed.

5 Stores are now in DFW and probably more soon.

New Store in Columbus, GA Has some new games that haven’t appeared at any other store so far…

Store does look similar to the other new stores base on the pictures.

5 MIN to Escape is coming global soon I think, so that will be pretty fun base on what I seen of it.

High Five got it ticket values changed per ball when it was testing at Dallas.

They also have Typhoon Shockwave at this store along with Dip n Dots but those have been appearing at other new stores.

They have a new style of plush Claw Machine which looks pretty cool. Wonder if they will phase out the grab n wins for these in the future, obviously not soon since the grab n wins are still relatively new.

Also in the pictures and videos I have seen, I wasn’t able to spot Tailgate toss so it could be an end of an era for Tailgate toss appearing at new stores.

New stores definitely seem like they have a different vibe to the older stores.

Which one of these are the best options for price and performance for gaming, making videos and streaming? (Pretty much want something that is around $2,000 with 32 GB of ram, 5070 or better & 2 TB of storage)

Found World Soccer at STL and this is actually really cool

When someone commented saying World Soccer could be inside of the dining room/restaurant portion. I thought that was a stupid decision to do since no one would know about it and wouldn’t get alot of attention. IF IT WAS THE REGULAR CABINET

But they actually did it in a cool way by hooking the game up to one of their large tvs and putting it on free play mode.

I wouldn’t have saw this if I didn’t know about it being in the restaurant area. Since I thought STL didn’t get the game yet.

This would’ve been a good thing to advertise. unless it was just something STL did for fun.

Would be cool to do this with more games such as NBA superstars.

R.I.P Speed Demon (Replaced by Nothing)

St Louis has sadly lost Speed Demon, a piece of history is now gone. Does Irvine still have theirs?

They also took out Ghost Busters, Luigi Mansion, Spiderman, Guardians, One of the Top Guns, Emoji Frenzy, Nascar Pitstop, Bobblehead Baseball, Hungry Hippos, Razing Storm and Crossy Road.

Also a few months back they took out Cut The Rope and Transformers Human Alliance.

But they gotten some extra new games such as All-In, Fast & Furious Arcade and 2 units of Daytona.

St Louis has gotten all of the new games besides World Soccer for some reason.

I hope they make a modernized version of Speed Demon since the game is really fun.

It sucks to see a older game getting taken out, probably the last opening day game at STL. St Louis is one of the oldest stores in the chain and it doesn’t feel the same anymore after Speed Demon Left. But as of right now Pac-man Battle Royale 4 players is still holding on and same thing for Press Your Luck.

Even those two games aren’t as old as Speed Demon they are still holding on in STL as the two unique older Games.

But St Louis will still have unique games once those two eventually go. (Daytona, Fast & Furious and All-IN) I have never seen All-In at another Dave & Busters so St Louis is still a unique store in terms of game selection.

But It will never feel the same as the older unique games did.

Some of my Ideas of how to improve Dave & Busters.

I've been going to Dave & Buster's since 2015, and I've noticed that since around 2024, the experience has started to feel different in a few ways. Some of it has to do with changes in quality, the overall experience, and the vibe.

I want to share a few ideas I have for the company that I think would improve it while bringing back some of the old feeling and still keeping up with how things are evolving.

Winner Circle Improvements

The first thing is Winner Circle. There haven't been any major changes in terms of prizes for a while. Some things have also gone downhill, such as the candy selection. D&B used to have a really good candy selection, but nowadays it's mostly low-quality or random candies that you can get at any store and aren't that special anymore.

If you look at Main Event, they have a much larger candy selection, and some of the items there you can't get from your typical store except at Five Below, It's Sugar, or online, which makes it feel more special and unique. Main Event has huge Dum Dums, a giant gummy bear, cereal straws, wax bottles, candies with mystery toys inside, and many more candy-related items.

Yes, Dave & Buster's does have the big pizza gummy and those coin bank candy items, but they should improve their candy selection by adding more unique and specialty candy options.

I also know that Main Event's target market is more focused on kids than Dave & Buster's, but since they are the same company, why not test some of the candy and food options they have at Main Event in the D&B prize area to see how they perform?

Another improvement I would make to Winner Circle is adding more regional prizes. As of right now, every D&B has mostly the same prizes aside from a few items (the footballs and the show tickets at Times Square).

A few years back, they had plush bears with sports teams on them in the prize area (NBA, MLB, and NFL, I think). Each location had different teams based on the closest local team to that store. For example, Kansas City had a Royals bear, and Orlando had an Orlando Magic bear. There were also more location-based items, such as glasses that had the store's city or state on them. It would be cool if they brought these back as souvenir-style prizes.

Right now, the footballs are the only unique prizes in Winner Circle since each store has different teams based on its location.

My third idea for Winner Circle would be to make them much bigger at the newer stores. Winner Circle used to feel special because it was massive and felt like an actual store. Nowadays, it's just a small room in the newer stores.

I have some more ideas for Winner Circle that I think would be positive, but I don't want to make this post too long.

App Improvements

As of right now, once you get to Level 9, you don't get any offers or free rewards besides the 15% bonus and occasional deals like the $2.50 Fourth of July offer.

I feel like they should do offers such as:

  • "Spend $25+ on chips, get a free entrée on us."
  • "Play 6 of the new games and get 1,000 tickets on us."
  • "50% off food up to a certain amount."

These deals would be app-exclusive and would be different each month to get people to come back into the store. They would basically be rotating monthly app offers. A lot of restaurants and stores do offers like this, and I'm surprised D&B hasn't done something similar.

I think this would be better than having multiple Half-Price Game Days since that can get repetitive after a while. Stick to two Half-Price Game Days a week (Sunday and Wednesday) and do rotating app offers instead.

The issue is that you don't want these offers to be abused or overdone, which is why you create a decent variety of them so they don't become overused or repetitive over time. This is an issue I see with the current passes and Half-Price Game Days.

I would also offer an exclusive Power Card if you download the app that you can redeem in person at the store.

I know a lot of people would agree with this improvement: upgrade the Level 9 prize pack to include the gold Power Card again to make it feel more exciting and special.

Improvements with the Remodels

Some parts of the remodels are nice, such as the new midway carpet, and the new bar looks incredible. However, the Social Bays (darts and shuffleboard) don't seem to be that popular based on what I've seen at Friendswood, St. Louis, Dallas, and Orange. They either should have made these work with Embed readers like they later did with The Arena, or just scrapped them.

One thing they have to think about is, "How can we be different and unique compared to other sports bars and entertainment centers?"

One idea I have is adding a stadium-style seating area on the restaurant side. The seating would be curved, making it feel like you're sitting in a stadium.

The goal would be to make guests feel like they're actually at a live sporting event instead of just watching a game from a regular table.

Some restaurants have done similar concepts, but I think Dave & Buster's could take it further and make it a signature part of the experience.

It would make them feel unique again since they used to have the same kind of vibe as Rainforest Cafe, Hard Rock Cafe, Bubba Gump, and other specialty restaurants.

I also have another idea for the remodels, but I'm not sure if it would be successful or not.

Bring Back Some of the Old Games in More Modern Ways

They used to have some very popular games back in the day. One game I think they should bring back is D&B Downs, the carnival-style game where you roll a ball into holes and race against other people. This game could be very successful if it were done correctly and would make D&B feel much more special again.

I would also bring back the old NASCAR game and make it more modern and interactive since that game was also really fun.

Both of those are experiences you can't really have at home, and I think they should continue focusing on games that people can't easily play at home, which is what they've been doing lately.

How to Improve New Stores

New stores are currently somewhat small. The restaurant area is much smaller compared to the older stores, and it doesn't feel like a real restaurant. The newer stores feel like an arcade with a small food area, while the older stores feel like a proper restaurant with an arcade.

They need to make the new stores more unique and make them feel like more than just an arcade with a little food area. They should feel like a destination and create a memorable experience.

I also think these newer stores aren't creating as many long-term customers as the older, larger stores did because they don't feel as special or unique anymore.

Do you agree with my ideas of how to improve this company?

The new Dave & Buster's in Sugar Land, Texas, now has a 360 interior Street View on Google Maps.

Looks like a decent store. Similar to the other new stores lately Oakland, King of Prussia, etc. Exterior is unique/cool.

They do in fact have two units of the social bays (One Darts and one shuffleboard). So they are limiting the amount that they have of these. Since some stores have 3 of each. No Arena though.

They have some new games that I think hadn't appeared at any D&B in the US which are Angry Birds Boom and Tom & Jerry Kitchen Chaos Air hocky. This store literally has 3 air hockey tables.

Also new Kiosks that looks less modern compared to the other ones.

There also are some new unique games that are at other new stores such as Typhoon Shockwave, Super Blaster, Moto Blitz, Duck Derby, Dippin Dots Drop, Ghostbuster Wheel, Tundra toss, QB Pro, Tornado Pusher, D&B Mega Claw, JJ Bot, Goat n ropes, Krazy Balls and plenty more. They also have the new Maimai game, which I doubt will last as a blue swipe.

Also some older games that rarely go to new stores Yahtzee, Bobblehead Baseball, Jelly Lab, Big Buck Hunter, Alien, Zombie Snatcher and SpongeBob Pineapple arcade which I'm shocked about.

They don't have Hot Wheels Victory Lap here, so they might be phasing it out now. Same thing with Star trek but that was already known for some new stores since they aren't producing it anymore. Also only two Units Super Bikes 3 and not the usual four like other new stores. Also it doesn't have the unicorn marquee on it, just the generic one.

Game placement seems a bit weird in some parts. I would swap Down the Clown and Milk Jug Toss with the two Quarterback Pro units. That way, all of the carnival games are grouped together, and most of the sports games are together. Also I would move some other games around to. I do like the human crane being in the middle though.

Their willy Wonka had the wrong values on it. This is common at other new stores till they eventually changed them. Also Duck Derby looks like it might've got nerfed to 50 tickets for the bonus.

This store doesn't look bad, very similar to the other new stores. Definitely worth visiting if you hadn't been to a new store yet or play none of the newer games. But if you already have a new store by you that opened in the past few months, this one may not be worth visiting since the game selection is pretty much identical. Also sorta small like the other new stores, but isn't the smallest new store they have done recently.

Have the World Cup watch parties been popular and successful at D&B so far?

They are definitely doing a decent amount of promotions for the world cup this year. Has your location been more busy during the games or is it same level as before the world cup?

Dave & Busters in San Diego & Oakland now have 360 Interior Street view on Google Maps

Both Stores don't have the Arenas and San Diego doesn't have the social Bays meanwhile Oakland only has one darts and one Shuffleboard. So they are definitely trying to figure out what to do in the remodels, since those attractions aren't being very successful of what I seen. I have a few ideas for remodel stores that I'm surprised they hadn't done yet.

Really hope this is a new thing for remodeled stores/new stores, since they used to do interior street view for most stores a few years ago. But they stopped doing it for some reason and those pictures are now outdated. It always nice seeing what games each location has, it's sad seeing no unique games at the San Diego store besides the Tundra toss/Hot Shot despite it having a big midway.

What I think about Kick N Win

Just played Kick N Win and it’s a fun game/something different compare to the NBA Balls.

Now each location/machine varies by strength since some stores are impossible to win and some are easier to win from.

I managed to win 13 balls and a tech let me trade out a duplicate ball for one I didn’t have already so shout out to him (plus The Machine was almost empty and needed to be refill).

Always reach out to a Tech if you think a game isn’t working right, or if you want to trade in a prize for something else. Not a guarantee that they will do that but it doesn’t hurt to ask just don’t constantly do it/abuse it.

The balls themselves are good quality, similar to the NBA balls just aren’t official Fifa ones just generic ones. The front of the balls state the country’s name and a small image of their flag and the back is just a huge flag of that country. But are still fun to collect/win. Plus cheaper than buying from Fifa.

I think there are 48 balls in the set since that is how many teams are in the world cup. The tech did say that each bag comes with around 5 USA Balls and each country has one in each bag.

Overall not a bad game, hope they do other themes with this. MLB or WNBA would be a cool to do next.
