C'mon telus, do better

Geezus..... 30 minutes on the phone with Telus to cancel Device Care because apparently letting customers do that online would be too convenient. What should’ve been a simple two-minute request took way more time and effort than it should have. And then of course, "while they have me" they decide it’s the perfect time to try selling me their internet service. FFS...No!!! I’m not calling to buy more stuff—I’m calling to cancel the thing I already asked you effing to cancel. At least the went straight through and I wasnt on hold.

Rant: How Is Anyone Supposed to Get Anywhere in This City Right Now?

TL;DR: The amount of construction in Calgary this summer is fucking ridiculous.

My normal 30-minute drive home took over an hour and a half today.

Every single route is a GD disaster. Road construction. Lane closures. Water main breaks. Detours. Then construction and lane closures on the detours. And of course, the inevitable traffic jams because everyone is trying to avoid the exact same mess.

Today I got trapped on 6th Ave SW trying to get to Crowchild/Glenmore/Ring Road. It took 45 fucking minutes to move one block. I finally gave up, doubled back toward Macleod, then tried to get around the water main work on 109 Ave by taking Bonaventure Drive... and guess what? More construction. More lane closures.

It honestly feels like you can't drive more than a few blocks without hitting another construction zone. This has got to be the worst summer I can remember for trying to get around the city.

And before anyone says, "They have to fix the roads..." Yeah, no shit. But does the entire fucking city have to be torn apart at the same time? Was there absolutely no coordination? Who looked at this and thought, "Yep, this won't completely cripple traffic."

I'm beyond frustrated. I had a rough day at work and just wanted to get home. Instead, I spent 90 minutes playing "Guess Which Road Is Closed Today."

Rant over.
