Brutally RealRTCW PCVR SP and Co-op OUT NOW!

EVER WANTED A BRUTAL RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN?

NOW YOU GOT IT IN FUCKING VR!!!!!

Both Flatscreen and VR are fully supported in CO-OP!

INSTALLATION

Just extract the contents of the download directly into your RealRTCW game directory and run the bat files. (Enemy Territory support coming soon)

BRUTAL FEATURES

Hybrid Co-Op Mode: Want to play co-op but your friend doesn't have a VR headset? Don't worry! You can both play together seamlessly (flatscreen controls have been fully ported over from Single Player).

Full Ragdoll Physics & Grabbing: Always wanted to throw these pesky enemies off of the castle walls? Now you can! In VR, just grab them with your hand and throw them off! (For flatscreen players, just hold your Use key on dead bodies).

Interactive World Objects: Grab static environmental objects like bottles and other props scattered around the map to interact with the world naturally.

Manual Reloads: Step up the immersion by manually reloading your weapons instead of relying on standard flat button presses.

Full hands and player body: Experience full immersion with fully visible player arms, hands, and body meshes, no more staring at a pair of disembodied floating black gloves.

Enhanced Gore & Decapitations: What if... after escaping from your cell, you showed up to the doctor holding the guard's severed head? Yes, now you can decapitate enemies, pick up their head, and throw it at unaware enemies to scare them off! Just try it!

Advanced Limb Dismemberment: Each individual limb now gets its own custom blood decal effects. The game doesn't just turn bodies into generic mush anymore—it tracks different effects for each weapon type, like full disembowelment if you slice them with a knife or blast them with a shotgun!

KNOWN ISSUES & COMMUNITY TESTER WARNING

Funky Ragdolls: Physics objects can get a little wild and funky, but they are incredibly funny to play around with right now.

Inconsistent Gore Triggers: The advanced dismemberment mechanics are fully coded into the build and functional, but they don't always trigger exactly when or how we want them to yet.

Weird weapon placements in hands: this still needs some fixing, but its simple enough, most egregious offender is the knife.

The decapitation part: It works, it kinda does but its funky.

Community Help Wanted: We need active feedback to hunt down hidden edge-case bugs and polish the experience. This project requires community testing, which is exactly why we are releasing this build to the public right now. Drop your feedback and bug reports in the comments section!

FUTURE PROJECTS BELOW THE HORIZON!

Keep your eyes completely peeled for our upcoming work:

Max Payne 1 VR is actively coming next.

And a secret project... something involving a massive, bipedal walking tank called "REX"... Stay tuned.

an actually positive opinion about far cry new dawn

Before the review:

Since my Far Cry 5 review in its 10 minutes life span before some subreddit moderator (Thanks, guys!) removed it generated some buzz, I figured I'd share my thoughts on New Dawn as well. (THIS IS ACTUALLY A POSITIVE REVIEW GUYS DON'T REMOVE IT, ITS RARE FOR THIS GAME!)

This review is based on a complete playthrough: 28 hours played, 40/50 achievements unlocked, every Expedition completed, every Outpost replayed on the highest difficulty, nearly all collectibles obtained, and all side content finished.

More importantly, these are my own opinions after finally giving the game a fair chance seven years after release.

I'm aware this is a somewhat uncommon take. For years I heard people describe New Dawn as one of the weakest entries in the franchise, a glorified Far Cry 5 asset flip, or a failed experiment. Going in, I fully expected to agree with them.

After all, I had just finished Far Cry 5 and had plenty of criticisms of my own. The idea of playing a spin-off built on the same map and foundation didn't exactly fill me with confidence.

Instead, I ended up having a completely different experience.

Whether you agree or disagree with my conclusions, at least they're coming from someone who actually sat down, played through the game, and engaged with nearly everything it had to offer.

Oh, its also my Steam review of the game, just like the previous review that got Nuked, hey, maybe this time I will get Nuked too :D

With that out of the way...

Far Cry New Dawn: Ubisoft Actually Understood the Assignment This Time

PRODUCT: Far Cry New Dawn
RECOMMENDATION: Thumbs Up
PLAYTIME: 28 hrs

After finishing Far Cry 5, I wasn't exactly optimistic about New Dawn.

Everything I heard online made it sound like Ubisoft took Far Cry 5, slapped some RPG mechanics on top of it, painted everything pink, and called it a day. Most discussions treated it like some weird, unnecessary cash grab that existed solely to recycle Hope County assets.

Honestly, I expected New Dawn to be an ugly game. Not bad. Not good. Just... there. The kind of game you play once, shrug your shoulders at, and forget exists five minutes later.

Instead, I ended up sinking 28 hours into it, collecting everything, completing all side missions, replaying every outpost at the highest difficulty, completing every expedition, unlocking 40 out of 50 achievements, and generally having a fucking blast.

Turns out a lot of the internet hate was either misplaced or coming from people expecting a mainline Far Cry instead of the spin-off this game was clearly trying to be.

Far Cry New Dawn isn't Far Cry 6.

It's Far Cry 5's equivalent of Blood Dragon.

And once I accepted that, everything clicked.

The Good Shit

Outposts Finally Matter Again

One of my biggest complaints about Far Cry 5 was that progression actively killed the sandbox.

You'd clear a region, kill the boss, and suddenly the roads felt dead.

New Dawn completely fixes this.

Outposts can be scavenged and replayed repeatedly at higher difficulties, rewarding you with more ethanol every time.

Instead of progression making the game less interesting, progression actually gives you more reasons to keep playing.

It's such an obvious improvement that I genuinely don't understand why it wasn't in Far Cry 5 from the start.

The Progression Loop is Addictive as Hell

Clear outposts, get ethanol, upgrade Prosperity, unlock better weapons, do expeditions, get resources, craft helicopters, craft armored vehicles, get stronger, repeat.

Every single activity feeds into another system.

The result is that almost everything you do feels worthwhile.

Unlike Far Cry 5, where I often felt like the game was forcing me through content, New Dawn constantly felt like it was rewarding me for engaging with it.

By the end I was basically a post-apocalyptic one-man army, and honestly? I earned that shit.

Expeditions Are Awesome

These are probably one of the best additions Ubisoft has made to the franchise in years.

Instead of spending the entire game in Hope County, you get dropped into handcrafted locations across the country.

A crashed aircraft carrier. An abandoned theme park. A prison. Various ruined landmarks.

They're short, fun, encourage exploration, and break up the pacing nicely.

I found myself looking forward to Expeditions more than many of the story missions.

The RPG Mechanics Aren't Nearly As Bad As People Say

This is probably where I'll lose some people.

The weapon tier system never bothered me.

Far Cry has always had weapon progression.

Far Cry 2 had it.

Far Cry 3 had it.

Far Cry 4 had it.

The difference is that New Dawn simply makes the progression visible.

Now enemies have armor and weapon levels are displayed openly instead of hidden behind arbitrary unlock requirements.

I actually appreciated the clarity.

The game gives you a reason to scavenge and upgrade gear instead of simply buying one gun and forgetting every other weapon exists.

The Superpowers Are Stupid (And I Mean That As A Compliment)

Double jumping, super speed, turning semi-invisible, and punching wildlife into another fucking dimension. It's completely ridiculous, and it absolutely rules.

This is exactly the kind of nonsense I want from a Far Cry spin-off.

Blood Dragon was weird. Primal was weird. New Dawn is weird.

Good.

Let spin-offs be weird.

Better Mission Design Than Far Cry 5

This one surprised me.

Several missions genuinely reminded me of the structured mission design from Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4.

There are actual set pieces, memorable encounters, interesting locations, and mission variety.

It's not perfect, but compared to Far Cry 5's checklist-style progression, it felt like a massive improvement.

The Soundtrack Actually Exists

This sounds ridiculous but hear me out.

Far Cry 5 had good music.

The problem was that I could barely fucking hear it.

The game was constantly throwing cultists, trucks, planes, cougars, bears, kidnappings, explosions, and random bullshit at me.

New Dawn gives its soundtrack room to breathe.

I actually noticed tracks during exploration.

I remembered music after missions ended.

The soundtrack became part of the experience rather than background noise fighting for survival.

The Bad Shit

Silent Protagonist Returns

One of my biggest complaints about Far Cry 5 makes a return here.

The Captain is once again a completely silent protagonist, and just like in Far Cry 5, it hurts the story whenever major characters are trying to interact with you.

Jason Brody and Ajay Ghale weren't exactly masterclasses in writing, but they were actual characters with opinions, emotions, and reactions to the insanity happening around them. The Captain mostly stands there staring blankly while everyone else carries the conversation.

What's frustrating is that New Dawn actually managed to get me invested in parts of its story. By the final stretch I genuinely hated Mickey and Lou and wanted to put them in the ground. Having an actual protagonist with dialogue would've made those confrontations hit even harder.

I haven't gotten far enough into Far Cry 6 to judge it properly yet, but from what I've seen Ubisoft seems to have realized this was a mistake and brought back voiced protagonists. Which honestly makes the decision here feel even stranger in hindsight.

Survival Mechanics Are Still Gone

Skinning animations? Gone.

Crafting from animal skins? Gone.

Inventory upgrades through hunting? Gone.

A lot of the systems that gave Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4 their identity still haven't returned.

This hurts even more because New Dawn actually improves so many other aspects of the formula.

The Twins Aren't Amazing Villains

Mickey and Lou aren't terrible.

They're just stuck following Joseph Seed.

And unfortunately that's not a fair fight.

Joseph could walk into a room, ramble about God for fifteen minutes, and somehow still be more memorable.

That being said, I still ended up hating these assholes, which honestly might be a compliment.

By the final stretch >! I genuinely wanted to put them in the ground.
And when the game finally let me do exactly that, that was incredibly satisfying. !<

Verdict

Far Cry New Dawn succeeds because it understands exactly what it wants to be.

It's not trying to replace Far Cry 3.

It's not trying to replace Far Cry 4.

It's not even trying to be Far Cry 5.

It's a weird experimental spin-off in the same spirit as Blood Dragon.

And unlike Far Cry 5, it actually meaningfully rewards the player for engaging with its systems.

The progression feels meaningful. The outposts stay relevant. The expeditions are fun. The superpowers are ridiculous. The gameplay loop is addicting.

Most importantly, I never felt like the game was wasting my time.

I went into New Dawn expecting a mediocre asset flip.

Instead I got one of the most enjoyable Far Cry experiences I've had in years.

Turns out the internet was full of shit on this one.

Recommended.

Fat Cry 5 and the "Just Cause" Syndrome: Great Sandbox, But They Gutted the Soul of Far Cry

Note: This review was posted to steam first Here

PRODUCT: Far Cry 5

RECOMMENDATION: Mixed / Thumbs Down (Unless you only care about mindless shooting)

PLAYTIME: 51.5 hrs (36 at the time of review)

I picked this up during the last Steam Summer Sale because I loved FC3 and FC4. After putting some proper time into it, I am so incredibly conflicted. The combat gameplay is a massive improvement—it feels tight, responsive, and causing chaos in the world is genuinely fun. But as a mainline sequel? What the actual f*ck was Ubisoft thinking with some of these design choices?

Did the developers avoid playing their own previous games entirely and just play Just Cause 3 for three years straight? If I wanted an accessible, chaotic playground, I would’ve just played Just Cause. Far Cry used to be about survival. Now the main campaign feels like a glorified arcade game knock-off.

The Good:

* Gunplay & Movement: Easily the best in the series. Gunfights feel punchy and satisfying.

* Vehicle & Traversal Variety: Traversal is a massive step up. They finally gave us fully usable helicopters and planes, which they've been teasing since the hang gliders in FC3 and that weird, clunky moped buzzer copter in FC4. Flying over Montana and dropping bombs feels fantastic.

* Guns & Fangs for Hire: The companion system is a great addition. If you don't have a real co-op buddy to play with, having characters like Hurk, Boomer, or a literal grizzly bear backing you up is a great substitute. They can be kind of dumb, they get injured way too easily, and their AI weapon damage feels heavily dialed down sometimes, but they still add a lot of fun flavor to the sandbox chaos.

* Far Cry Arcade: Honestly a huge highlight. The community maps and custom modes add tons of replay value when you get bored of the main map.

* The DLCs & Vietnam: The DLC packages were actually great fun. The Hours of Darkness (Vietnam) DLC felt like an incredible standalone game on its own. I honestly would’ve loved if it was way longer, especially because there were actual stakes—you felt this constant urgency to save your squad mates and keep them out of harm's way because they can die permanently. Plus, hilarious enough, the DLCs actually had voiced protagonists! (Seriously? what the f*ck ubisoft? who advises your team on this sh*t? You give the DLC characters a voice but leave the main game's hero as a mute?)
Lost on mars was also quite funny, and I head cannon it as what occurred after the walk away ending in Far Cry 5 (The one that is at the end of the game)
The zombies one though, felt like ubisoft telling the players about what they can do with the Far Cry arcade editor, but it was fun regardless.

* Prepper Stashes: Instead of climbing repetitive towers, you actually get cool environmental puzzles.

The Absolute Bullsh*t:

* The Silent Protagonist: Removing voiced characters like Jason or Ajay completely murdered the story. You’re just a blank slate mute staring blankly at villains while they monologue. The emotional stakes are non-existent. The most emotion you get out of the whole main game is Joseph Seed goobering near the end.

* The Stolen Resistance Meter / Forced Kidnappings: They straight-up ripped the resistance meter idea from Just Cause 2's Chaos Meter. Except here, it’s peak terrible game design. You’ll be in the middle of a fun side activity, and the game will literally force a random main mission on you by shooting you with a magical sleep dart out of nowhere. It completely ruins player agency and breaks immersion.

* The "Ghost Town" Map Death: In FC3 and 4, enemies only cleared out if you actively chose to capture outposts. In FC5, because everything you do fills that stupid resistance meter, the game automatically forces the region boss fight on you. Once they die, the whole region becomes an empty ghost town automatically. All the cult patrols vanish from the roads even if you left half the outposts standing. Yes, there's an "Outpost Master" reset button, but you can't even click it until you finish the ENTIRE campaign and clear EVERY base on the map, meaning it does absolutely nothing to fix the dead world during your actual playthrough.

* Failure of Player Guiding (Alternate Ammo): The game features alternate ammo types for weapons, but it literally never tells you how to unlock or get them. I finished the entire game without ever unlocking them because the game design and player guiding are so incredibly garbage. If your players are beating the final boss and still don't know a core mechanical feature exists, your user experience design has failed.

* Bland Main Missions & Bad Pacing: The structured, cinematic main missions from the older games are gone. They traded quality for quantity, and the story progression feels like a tedious checklist. Meanwhile, before a region is cleared, the spawn pacing is a nightmare—you can't even fish or walk for 20 seconds without a truck, a plane, or a cougar spawning on your face.

* Lazy Weapon Variety: Look at the weapon shop. They got incredibly lazy and padded out the selection with "reskins." There are multiple versions of the exact same rifles and pistols with the exact same stats, just with a different camo pattern. The actual unique gun pool is a massive downgrade from FC4.

* They Gutted the Survival Loop & Stealth: Remember hunting to craft better wallets, holsters, and inventory extenders? Gone. Now hunting is just a garbage fetch quest or a way to get generic perk points. They even removed the skinning animations and the gritty emergency healing animations. Stealth is a joke too; the AI is erratic, and they completely removed advanced takedowns (like knife-throws or vehicle takedowns) just so you can clunkily hit people with a baseball bat.

* Forgettable Soundtrack: Look, I couldn't hear much of the soundtrack because of all the constant shooting noise, but the bits I caught during the cutscenes and the "Only You" segments were great. That said, I honestly prefer Far Cry 3’s soundtrack way more. It was so much louder, more prominent, and emotional—nothing in FC5 touches the raw vibes of the track "I'm Sorry" or burning fields to "Make It Bun Dem".

* Steam Integration is Garbage: On a technical note, Steam doesn't detect the game's achievements very well. Half the time they don't pop or track properly because of the bloated Ubisoft Connect overlay conflict.

Verdict:

It’s a fun shooter, but a terrible Far Cry game. They stripped away the core identity and mechanics that made the franchise successful in the first place just to cater to a casual audience. The Arcade, the vehicles, the buddies, and the great squad permadeath tension in the Vietnam DLC save it from being a total waste of money.(Still haven't beaten the two other DLCs but lost on mars is proving to be fun)

I’m moving on, and I'll be picking up Far Cry 6 during the next sale to see if they actually fixed this mess. Buy it on a deep sale, but lower your expectations if you loved the grit of 3 and 4.

Far Cry New Dawn:

Far Cry New Dawn

New Dawn.

Hope County.

Far Cry New Dawn مش Far Cry 6.

دي Blood Dragon بتاعة Far Cry 5.

Sandbox.

New Dawn

Far Cry

Far Cry 2

Far Cry 3

Far Cry 4

Unlocks.

Far Cry.

Blood Dragon

Primal

New Dawn

Far Cry 5

Far Cry 4.

Far Cry 5

Animations

Joseph Seed.

Far Cry New Dawn

Far Cry 3.

Far Cry 4.

Far Cry 5.

Blood Dragon.

Far Cry

Far Cry 5

Far Cry.

Guns & Fangs for Hire

### Far Cry Arcade

Vietnam

### Prepper Stashes

### Resistance Meter

Perk Points.

لحد النهاردة مفيش حاجة في FC5 وصلت لإحساس "I'm Sorry" أو حرق مزارع الحشيش على "Make It Bun Dem".

### Steam Integration

Ubisoft Connect.

Open World Shooter.

An excessive level on unprofessional conduct for discord

So, two months and a half ago my account was compromised, eventually after like a month and a half later discord returned it, two weeks later they resolved an issue because they insta banned my acc, then when i accessed my account I found out that I can't join other servers, my list isn't full and i am not banned from these servers, however during my requests in the same support thread to resolve this issue, it got marked as solved, even though it isn't, i replied saying that it isn't solved, however when I checked today, i found that they had marked it as solved, again, what the fuck?

▲ 3 r/Risen

So here I was, playing Risen (the version with the annoying console update) and making my way to the dude on the east side of the island after clearing out the eastern temple and killing its lizard priest, I was on the don's side and quick saved, however I happened to walk into a cliff and died (lmao) and reloaded, however, I found myself at a manual save with 1 hour 7 minutes of gameplay, from 8 days ago, so basically my disk C drive was filled and when quicksaving the last time (which coincided with an autosave) the game didn't write the save data, basically destroying my save file, and deleting all my progress (I was in the midst of chapter 2)

can somebody please share their save files with me if they were at a similar point in game? either before or after the eastern temple? heck even if at the end of chapter 2 on the don's side.
