Started consuming Doom Patrol via the show, and in that she was a goop monster which resulted in her having stretchy powers.

Has since then gone back and read all the old Silver Age and Bronze Age stuff, up until the end of the Morrison run. Was surprised to learn that Rita Farr, despite being called Elasti-girl, did not actually have stretchy powers. She could only grow and shrink in size, and eventually was able to isolate her size changing to individual parts of her body. For comparison sakes, Rita's powers were closer to Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan embiggen powers than they were Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards (and even then Kamala is shown to still have greater elastic power than Rita). In fact, Madame Rouge of the Brotherhood of Evil is the one with explicit stretchy powers.

In the newest comic run by Darcy Van Polgeest and Niko Henrichon, Rita Farr is depicted as performing what you would traditionally consider shape shifting stretchy powers and not *just* limited to growing/shrinking. I have not read all the runs yet, is this something that she has been shown to be able to do before? Or is this something that was taken from the TV show? Did the TV show just simply give Rita stretchy powers because it made sense and was more interesting than just size changing? Or did this actually have presecedent in the comics?

I've noticed that this current comic run also makes reference to the gas Rita was exposed to turning her into a goop monster, but the goop stuff is *not* a Silver Age thing. So I was wondering if the goop is from a different run? Or something that was made just for the show, and subsequently referenced for the current run?

Some people have theorized that maybe this incarnation of Rita is taking some inspiration from Madame Rouge (due to similarity to her Teen Titans cartoon appearance), or is perhaps maybe Madame Rogue in disguise herself. But the run only has one issue yet, so at this point it's all just theories. Also I know Rita Farr is alive in the current canon, although I haven't finished reading the intermediate runs yet, and thus do not know why or how.

I was trying to watch theses streams for some twitch drops and also check out some matches as well. I checked last week and I didn't see anything upcoming listed until the Mid-Season Finals on 7/29. No posts on official channels, or on the schedule tab on the twitch channel

Turns out, there was an entire Mid-Season Qualifier that occurred this weekend. When was this ever announced or listed? Even now, when googling "Mid-Season Qualifier" I am only ever seeing results, but not any posts that says that it was upcoming and what dates/times it was gonna be at. The only place I ever saw a date for it was on the liquipedia, and that's only because I was specifically looking for it. I feel like I shouldn't have to dig that deep on non-official sources just to get an upcoming schedule.

Wanting to collect this run, either with the individual Vol TPs. Or the all-in-one collected Hopeless TP, but 2015 #6-7 is noticable absent. I've noticed that it isn't drawn by the regular Javier Rodriguez, but both issues still seem to be written by Hopeless. Not only that, but based on the issue description I'm seeing off League of Comic Geeks, the plot of those issues still seems like it still relevant to the main story? So what gives?

Interested in this series mostly because of Javier Rodriguez's art, and I have a couple options, but also questions. (Note: getting all my info from League of Comic Geeks, which isn't always 100% accurate).

A) Start collecting TP starting from vol 2 of 2014 run, which starts at issue #5, and then just continue till the end of 2015 run. Looks like 2014 vol 1/ issues #1-4 is Greg Land, and storywise deals with some Spider-Verse stuff? Is this actually relevant or leads into the pregnant Jessica Drew storyline? Or is this is a a safe skip?

B) Get the Spider-Woman by Dennis Hopeless TP. Which offers a mostly complete compilation of the 2014 and 2015 run (including that initial Spider-Verse #1-4 drawn by Greg Land). However it notably leaves out from the 2015 run #6-7. It's not drawn by the regular Rodriguez, but DOES still seem to be written by Hopeless. The plot summary as well seems to be still relevant to the pregnant Jessica Drew storyline. Any idea why these issues are left out of the Hopeless TP?

It starts on #7, so skips six issues, which isn't a whole lot. I can only presume that if there was a DC Finest that collects stories chronologically before #7, it would include that and then maybe some additional stories? What happens in #1-6 that they wouldn't just throw it into this DC Finest volume?

I wanna say I saw something said about how the Dark Genesis recoloring will be what will be used for all reprints of this Len Wein era moving forward (the DC Finest looks to be coming out in December and Dark Genesis in November so timing wise it works out), but I'm having trouble confirming this information

Wondering if anyone with experience would have any insight on that.
